The devs behind Speed Truck Racing have like 4 other racing games, and you can usually get them in bundles. Absolutely not top of the line, but if you can grab, say, one of the 3 packs for 2.99 on Switch, they're not abysmal.

Theo if you haven't played it before, you should really try Driver Parallel Lines. Its from around 2006, its free roam open world, very much like GTA, but an emphasis on cars. So you can collect tonnes of cars and upgrade and customize them and do races. There's actual tracks to race on too. It really is a great game, you suould check it out.

there’s a cheap ps5 racing game i found called “kanjozoku game” that’s basically just a simple wangan highway racing game with some police chases, i haven’t played too much of it but it was pretty decent as a time killer haha i had a rose gold-ish ef civic hatchback that i maxed out and dominated time trials with. only issue was i couldn’t really find out what i was supposed to be doing…
