This is so real. Similar thing happened to me here when I had some friends from the UK over in Czech Rep. Theyre super used to me speaking basically 100% fluent with no real accent/mix of british and american. So when they saw me speaking Czech in front of them their minds were blown away. Like they knew I was a native but they never heard me speak Czech to them so they were so shocked. One of them even asked me to teach him Czech xD which I lowkey wanted to but ended up refusing as I dont have the time. But I did help him pick out good books to learn Czech from and converse with him a lot, hes gotten a lot better recently. Though hes still unable to get used to our system of altering between how you refer to someone (pády v češtině, máme jich celkem sedm zatímco angličtina pády nepoužívá). I guess its sorta like past present and present perfect in English for us, though I never had issues with them given the fact Ive learned English mostly by the fuck around and find out method (learning from listening to, watching and reading English-speaking media).

You didn't get food poisoning from the mangoes, you got it from the ice or even whatever was left over from washing the mangoes. Edit: Only reason a mention this is because I've heard Joey say this a few times. I'm sure some kids who may travel may not want to eat fruit because they heard someone on youtube say you can get sick off fruits. That would suck because there is so much awesome fruit that do not even exist outside of these countries.

I was gonna say. It's nearly always the water or the ice that causes food poisoning in SEA, unfortunately. It's likely why bottled water is so popular. Even though it's hot and humid, which is part of the beauty haha, it's best to ask not to have ice in a drink, unless you can be absolutely sure it's safe. There's something called "Bali belly" that a lot of people get when they visit the Indonesian island of Bali, and it's caused mostly by contaminated water.

Thai durian are eaten relatively yong, that's why they tends to be more sweet and smell relatively tamed (the popular cultivars are also more fleshy and less smelly than the rest of the region) The international market seems to enjoy Malaysian style durian more though which is eaten a more riped, and can be bitter and extremely smelly at the top end (I enjoy that but it's definitely harder to get started) As a Thai fan, I am glad that you enjoy the trip though.

12:50 Thai durian is unique bc they are cut unripe (vs everyone else who let it ripened before consumption). As a result, you tends to get much firmer texture and less smelly durian. Of course, there are also Thai people who prefer very ripened durian.

6:55 That god is called Ganesha (or Ganesh) in India, the god of beginnings. I forgot what he is called in Thailand but he stands for success and fortune in Thai culture I think.

Yes , we have several gods here in thailand which are mostly from either indian hiduism and from thai and chinese buddhism (the most popular statues are ganesha and various thai and chinese buddha figures)

Apologies for the food poisoning from the Mango juice in the Philippines, must have been the milk. Connor and Joey bought drip from Off-White! Nice. I’m impressed with the durian eating, very South East Asian. Garnt should get married in Japan too. Get Meilyn to cater then Chris do the wedding video.

Iconsiam is a cool mall. On the upper floors, there's more food, a balcony, and a cool waterfall. Hopefully you didn't miss them. Street food is great, but I'd recommend Thai KFC (actually godlike compare to U.S. KFC) and MoMo paradise. They are my top picks from my last Thailand visit.

Here to confirm that Chatuchak Market, Siam Square area and ICONSIAM are great places to visit in Bangkok if you like shopping AND eating. Sukhumvit road and Chinatown areas are great tourist spots as well. Also, I think they missed visiting the Bangkok branch of Animate store at MBK Center not far from Siam Paragon. The 7th floor of MBK Center is a place for local otakus there.

I am Indian but I have visited thailand 3 times by now. It's a really cool and beautiful place. I feel like they need to up their spice game a bit more. The food's not spicy enough. The markets and roads are exactly like India tho.

As an Aussie who's been to Indian and Thai markets, its not even close lmao, you can get scammed easily in both countries but Indian markets are generally much cheaper, dirtier, run down and stinky. Roads in Thailand are pretty much the same with India in terms of traffic, but infrastructure wise Thailand's is much better to walk around.

@@miks_w8945 Dude, traffic in Thailand is nothing like in India. There are actually traffic lights at the cross roads and people don't just do whatever they want. Bangkok's traffic is far from perfect, but the traffic in India left me shocked and scared for my life.

@@miks_w8945 It depends from place to place tho. Bangkok is the largest city in Thailand so if we compare it to the largest city in india, Mumbai then honestly it's not that big of a difference. Mumbai does have great infrastructure. Markets in Mumbai are pretty well maintained, same in Delhi and Bangalore. Not sure bout other cities as i haven't visited most of the parts yet.

@@niello5944 Lol i can see why, i live in this place called Bangalore in india (one of the biggest cities here) and if you go by car, you are 100% gonna be delayed by an hour or two due to traffic. But the areas are pretty weel maintained and stuff here. Ig that's what we get for having too many people lol.

@@miks_w8945 I mean thailand is a 2nd world country. And India ,except for some parts, is still a third world country. So ofc thailand is better in infrastructure or stuff like that. I am just saying in terms of basic culture, market design and food it's pretty similar to India, especially southern India
