I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY NO ONE WILL BOTHER YOU1!! THAT IS NOT TRUE! Some men came in my yard in my gated community while my 2 year old was on the veranda, they walked straight into our yard off the street! they asked for money to buy a phone credit that evening our neighbour's house was broken into while she was not at home! a man was also shot in our gated community before we moved in (contracted killing ). Over 4 kids were killed at the start of the year by gun violence in Jamaica , while they were on their way to school in a taxi that got shot up... i guess all these victims are criminals! I'm a born American who lived in Jamaica 20 years. I met my wife in Westmoreland and our 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son were born at Cornwall. At some point i was in Flanker every evening buying ganja and juice. If i did not show uo the Flanker people would call to check on me. Solid people there for sure. My family migrated to my home in America last year. I'm now worried about America and the violence there. For the most part Jamaica is a place where problems won't reach you if you are not living a street lifestyle. I actually knew my neighbors in Montego Bay and Kingston. We all looked out for each other always. Jamaica changed me for the better and i supposedly came from the best. I love the country and the people to death ! As a citizen of Jamaica 🇯🇲. Our country is very beautiful. It's true that there is crime and violence here and at times in some communities more than others. Everywhere in the world there is crime....it's just that it happens behind gated community with wall fence. Crime is crime behind zink or wall fence. Death is death. I have friends in flankers they are beautiful people inside out. The government in our country Can do better but the truth is they care more about themselves. Its us as a individuals that should Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery as None but ourselves can free our mind. Thank God fr. Cause these white KZbinrs love spreading this narrative as if Most of Jamaica is ghetto & toxic. They never show the normal parts of Jamaica, with normal neighborhoods. But thank God for Wode Maya, Dee Mwango & Kino life in Jamaica that shows the real Jamaica fr 💯

Drew Binsky, please, do a full video on Slovakia. I know that you already did one, but it was only about one little festival in the middle of nowhere, and I doubt that many people who don´t live in Slovakia, would be interested to see it. We have so much to offer, from lovely castles, through picturesque nature, mountains, well preserved towns with elegant, historical architecture, some of the most beautiful women, great food, beverages, and much more. There is so much to see, discover, and explore him, but majority of travelers and travel agencies ignore us, just because our country is tiny in size. I´ve seen a number of your videos, and I know that you know that even in the smallest countries, you can find the greatest of hidden gems, and Slovakia isn´t different in this field. I don´t want to force you into doing something you don´t desire to do, but I am just tired of people almost always turning a blind eye to my country, for being tiny in size, population, stereotypes, or not having a metropolois with at least 1 million inhabitants...

Even Jamaicans wouldn't mess with Haiti. I have never heard of a Jamaican that would go to Haiti
@unruly75166 ай бұрын
Haha your funny, a lot of Jamaicans go to Haiti when they are running from the law in Jamaica, some have even gotten in to problems over there, I remeber I story that came out where a wanted man from Jamaica was hiding in Haiti, so he sent his cousin or brother to go get some guns on a trip from Jamaica to Haiti , the Haitians killed him, the Jamaican that was on the run then went on a killing spree killing over 4 Haitians , then they eventually killed him also. Usually business go smoothly, because of mutual respect. please don’t do that, Jamaican do not fear people and we don’t compare I don’t get why people like to compare to us, Haiti is no joke but don’t compare. If you need me to I can definitely find the video, it’s on a channel called politriks watch, he covers a lot of the gang problems in Jamaica, that was more than two years ago, can tell you a similar story when the shower posie came to Miami and the Haitians robbed a couple of them in a drug deal, the tivoli man came back and killed 5 Haitians, the rumour was it was dudus.

@@Tameka876 there exists a film called “Life and Debt” that is very insightful: it shows how international money-lending from governments and NGOs affects we regular people. Spotlights the cause-and-effect cycles and things that demand notice & attention. Is it a movie about Jamaica ? Or is it a film about post-colonialism ? If people “run-don’t-walk” to click and like everything Jamaica-related, then it’s probably pound-for-pound the best filming-with-explaining available. If I feel tempted to critique the young traveling man who made this here particular video--for making something short that doesn’t address the big issues affecting the West Indies, I must remember: someone else already made the deeper, heavier, film. People come-running to click all Jamaican things: well, i think you are right: This island nation does enjoy and maintain a very positive reputation in all other parts of the world. Seriously: if you ask Americans, Russians, and Asians, most won’t know anything about Anguilla, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, etc. But they will recognize Jamaica and wish Jamaicans good things… 🙏📿 [my well-wishes & prayers ? Pay the entire nation for the bauxite mining, and return Jamaica’s soil. Abolish the Kingston Free Zone, and document all the reasons such a district hurts humanity. Record the story and give a scholarship to every man, woman, and child who is selling oranges by the armful/bagful. Protect Jamaican farms even if they don’t generate money: one cannot put a price-tag on food independence.] ❤🇺🇸✈️🇯🇲

I notice that many people who harbor resentment against Drew in the comments really seem to be harboring resentment against Jamaica’s less-fortunate people and are just taking out their resentment on Drew. Jamaica’s classism against its poorer and more-vulnerable residents is not the fault of any KZbin vlogger.

Why choose the poorest community in Jamaica to say that's how Jamaicans live outside of the resorts. Just another youtuber looking for views rather than showing the truth. Next time, highlight Flint or Detroit Michigan as an example of how most people in Michigan live.

I went to Jamaica every year with my family for over 25 years. They had a home up in the hills on the west end of negril. We had many close friends, both Jamaicans and others who had moved to Jamaica from other countries, amazing people. What's portrayed in this video is absolutely spot on. Everyone in Jamaica seems to be smiling and the general feeling is that those who live there have a very strong love for their country, but less so their government. You'll likely have no problems as long as you are smart about your actions and the areas you visit. BUT unfortunately we no longer go there. When my parents started visiting in the 1970s it was a different place, calmer, less developed, minimal crime. As time went on, development and crime close to home made us think twice about going back (three violent home invasions within 1-2 miles our our home. The harsh reality that those in extreme poverty will turn to crime to survive). My family ended up selling their home and we haven't returned since (it was turned into a beautiful AirBnb). I wish the best for Jamaica and the people who live there, Jamaica is like nowhere else on earth.

False lol Jamaicans never violate tourist the crime is friends and family against each other or political visitors/non Jamaicans are never ever a victim. Come one find me 5 news article in the past 3 years where is has been proven a foreigner was the victim of a crime in Jamaica and notice I said proved, I’m not seeking unproven allegations. And then find me one where in the past 5 years where a foreigner/non Jamaican was killed I’ll even settle for a victim of a stray bullet.

Look for info before reach. Love Montego Bay.
