True support experience is internally screaming about how bad your tanks placement is and trying to heal bot/peel for him a few times, dying with him for it, turn to heal another teammate for ONE second, and tank insta dies and types no heals in lobby chat.

THIS HOLY SHIT, the tank rushing point solo, dying to about 20 enemies, and then after using kiri teleport bc you thought they had a chance, they insta die and you get slaughtered.... Literally had a game where the other healer on my team did 14K heals, in ranked but mind you it was iron 1 to silver 5, and I had done around 13K heals and like 8K damage, and the tank still typed "no healing" and ignored when we mentioned the stats in VC.

Supports have to simultaneously help get elims while sustaining 4 other players and themselves. But if you’re playing against a team who’s just as good, that makes a mentally exhausting task even harder

@@Icy_815 i don't think you have ever played tank lmao, tanks are literally playing a role meant for 2 people to play so its way more exhausting. Especially because you are ALWAYS the one the team blames if your team loses even if your entire team was dogshit and you played like a god you'll get blamed and probably get a "tank diff" in the chat or in vc. Yes support can be hard but tank is 1000% worse to play and people require way too much. As a support you can get games where the other support goes crazy and carries you, there is no other person to help you as tank. i could go on but ill leave it there

I think it's a good idea for everyone to play at least a little support. This way you can see firsthand where you should be positioning and such. A good support should see the whole battlefield and be able to navigate the team thru each battle.

But naturally dps players cant relate, because they dont get attacked by literally every enemy including the enemies supports and dont have to heal their entire team. Supports also need to help with elims, meaning they are combining all roles ingame. You always have to do something as a support, you wont get a single break.

Supports are considered OP and boosted more because it has lesser number of competitive players due to it's traditional attribute as a healer role or more specifically healbot role which OW1 6v6 specifically instilled in majority of the player base. So players from other roles find it easier to climb by just playing a high damage dealing flex support. Especially in 5v5 which awards aggressive plays (which is the intension of support, you have to make offensive plays, not just healbot). Actual role as seen in organized play and in higher ranks would be different. Its the one with the most multi-tasking involved. Essentially, different skill sets involved since your job isn't just dealing pressure. Either way, main issue with you Kraan is you don't have the hours, I am pretty confident you can climb much higher given the hours. But as you mentioned, you don't find the role fun, which is understandable. Glad that you tried it.

Crazy how good support role is when you’re in the diamond and above level. Cause in the metal ranks. you can be the best support on the team. However when your tank is stupid and stands in open and feeds your DPS can’t use cover and die to a mercy without ult, it’s not so OP. It’s just stress, which is why support times are the quickest to queue for compared to DPS and tank. Just have a team with good game sense and you win 90% of those fights

It never really occured to me that switching from dps to support would be difficult... like it makes sense because you have to focus more on your team than the enemies and if you're used to playing tank or an aggresive dps you hardly even see your other team members, you just trust that their doing something. But as a support main and a backline dps my team is always in sight so I wouldnt understand the struggle of switching focus like that.
