James, this was awesome! ❤ I did a video about the different squash species. And I had a hypothesis that if 1 of each species is grown we can save seeds with out them cross pollinating. But 11 of my 12 plants died after a grasshopper wave 😢 You have room to do this experiment 🤔 it would be interesting cuz 2 years later we would find out if saved seeds aren't crossed ❤ love Tuck! thanks Marianne 🌻

This was my first time seeing Tucker, and I had no idea he even existed. 😩 I’m new to this channel, so he was such an absolutely AMAZING and happy surprise ❣️♥️🐶 He’s sooooo cute and precious, and I truly adore him. He makes my heart smile. He will definitely be a huge part of why I visit this channel VERY often ! 😂 I had four dogs, all of them for their entire lives (including my furry soulmate Duncan Donut Dawg (the 17 year old). All furbabies were ages 5-17, but in 2020, 2021, 2022, and then on 11/7/2023, I had lost ALL of them, one each year for 4 consecutive years. 😢 This incredibly interesting form of creating a planter basically from the earth, kind of a circle of life project, feels like such a great opportunity to brighten our rather dull and boring lives here. Of course tho, I love learning about all kinds of gardening methods, plants, soils and other products, just everything. My daughter has a little farm close to me, and she’s into gardening and farming knee deep. She cans also, so she’s a busy girl most all year round. She’s 41 and has 18 and FOUR year old kids too, so “busy” might be an understatement here. She gits‘ er done tho. Before the baby, Kennidee, came along, she was working two other regular jobs. I know she’ll want to try this gourd planter idea ! The 18 year old, Makenzie AKA Kenzie, is in college now, and this lightens her burden a bit. She’s going to home-school Kennidee. Oh boy ! 😂 I definitely would dearly love to try this clever gourd-planting idea too, but I live in a disabled/old folk’s (I’m both BTW, and 75) apartment complex, and we have (almost) no access to any type of land area where we could do this fun activity. The land is there, but virtually no outside area planning or construction was done when the building was established. So sad too because it’s a gorgeous area, and no traffic, and looking out our windows there are lots of heavily wooded smallish-sized type mountains to be seen (all of which are exceptionally beautiful in this autumn season ! I’m in WV, and our autumn hills/mountains are exquisitely ablaze with brilliant bright reds, oranges, rusts, golden shades, mahogany shades, etc. We are fairly rural though, settled into an extremely small village, with not many creature comforts, and no semblance of big city life at all (which is actually a great thing !). We all prefer sounds of crickets, frogs, and locusts to sirens of police cars, fire trucks, traffic 24/7, fighting, etc., and prefer seeing mountains, gorgeous pine trees of all shades of green all year round, the ethereal autumn colors and the exceptional abundance of them, lightening bugs, the smells of fireplaces burning all their heavenly scents of so many different woods being burned, smells of so many festivals going on with their incredibly tantalizing and beckoning apple butter scents, love all this and so much more compared to city smog, gas, diesel fuel, stinky rains, ugly yellow-brownish snows and everything else city life brings to the table (nothing much good IMHO). I’m from one of the largest cities in WV, so I’m all too familiar with big city life nastiness. Where I live now has a population under 2,000. I moved here recently from a village of only 1,000 or so. Lol. It’s actually almost too big here, but I had to move, so I chose this small area just a mile or so from my old place. I would have gone to an even MUCH smaller town on down the road, had they had the living requirements I needed. Their population is about half of the 1,000 or so where I’m at now. Anyway, this complex here is a fairly new building, only the second of its kind in a huge huge area, and the other complex has absolutely NO area for gardening of any kind or anything to do outdoors for the residents at all. So, I’m hoping now that’s our place is under new management and that if enough of us show a keen interest in gardening, especially container gardening, that they will allow us to try it, starting smallish of course, see how it goes and hopefully many will take it seriously by putting lots of time, effort, imagination, beauty, and love, etc. into it, and learn to love it and expect it/require it as a form of mental health need/therapy, so then it’ll have an excellent chance of becoming a permanent place in our daily lives year round. We can be the inspiration for the other complex (and even just other regular apartment complexes also) to step up the quality of living and add much-needed opportunities for the older folks, give them a hobby and make them feel needed. Everyone needs all this, and more, but especially us older folks. I think it would lift the downed spirits of most everyone who lives here, including me. We can make new friends, exchange ideas and get help if needed, learn from our mistakes and other’s too, help each other if we get stuck with something, care for each other’s projects if illness sets in, etc. Being disabled and losing your independence is quite disturbing and disheartening. Many of us have little to no families, and many are too frail and unstable physically to properly care for a pet. All four of my dogs, ages 5-17, have died now; one each year consecutively from 2020-2023. 😢 I’d had all of them since they were puppies, and all were rescues ! My furry soulmate Duncan Donut Dawg was the first to go right when the pandemic broke out in March, 2020. My heart is forever shattered. My dogs are all I had. Losing him took a huge toll on my health and my heart. 😢 💔 He’s waiting to be cremated with me. That may seem morbid to many, but I love him SO much, and he must always be by my side, always. But, enough of that. I’m crying and often times it goes on for hours. I’m so happy I came across this brilliant and extremely interesting video today ! I’d like to skip winter and move into an early spring so I can get started. There still may be gourds around tho. They’re a big item in our area, as are pumpkins. Just finding the right ones will be the thing. I need to start small tho, as I can barely lift anything over five ponds. Lol But too, winters in WV, with all the snow-capped mountains, hundreds of bright red cardinals sitting in the snow-covered pines, the majestic deer 🦌 out foraging all day, and the peace and quiet of all the beautiful snow-covered surroundings of a lit up village, horse-drawn carriages with folks dressed in old-time costumes, vintage street lights aglow and all of them reflecting off the near frozen Ohio River giving us double the pleasure, hot homemade apple-cinnamon cider and hot cocoa made from scratch, the sensual smells of outdoor campfires right in the city and amongst old-fashioned ice skaters on deeply frozen small ponds, the sled riders coming off the small hills within the city and near the river (barriers up of course!), and it’s glowing fires welcome the little ones to roast marshmallows and sip a hot cocoa before the climb back up the hill, all this and absolutely SO much more here in our area just can’t be beat, or even matched. So maybe I’ll keep a generous part of winter then begin in the sweet gentleness of springtime to work on my gourd project. We’ll see. I wonder how well this idea would work on a pumpkin ? My daughter has several of all different colors and sizes, but one of which I’ve been eyeing just for decorations purposes, but I can easily envision it as a planter for my (currently small) plant (mother of thousands) YIKES she gave me. Hmmmmmmm. Ok, better hush before KZbin bans me for blathering. Lol Blessings to all, and happy gardening whenever you do it !! Hugs, granny GG. ♥️ 🪴
