Sir, don’t be too harsh on yourself. That’s life. But, he who realizes he has made mistakes and regrets his mistakes is a man. Thanks for sharing this story. Hope others may learn from it.

It is in 1970s many people really knew about and really started traveling. Before that in the 60s, it was mostly just scholarship students. This man didn't run in the right circles. Those days the people returning from abroad were not called Burgers, but "Beentoos", meaning you have been abroad before. People I saw returning from Germany, UK, Canada, Holland and the USA were my inspiration. There was the lady in Accra with a VW Sirocco that she painted "You too can fly" on it was one such. So I flew out in 76.😂🎉

He who admits his faults & learns from it, to me is one honest man. Hopefully your experiences will be an eye opener for the youth My only remark is, those who are able to study abroad or learn the desired trade really don't need to juggle multiple jobs. That's certainly not the norm for all Africans abroad. Thanks a mill for a v good discussion DJN👏🏽👏🏽

Hmm, I met a ghanaian in Germany who has been here for 46 years. The state I saw him in was sad. He was drunk and he seems to have been in that state of alcoholism for years. He vented his frustrations to me and I was marvelled. At times too, it is the hustleness abroad that tends to alter their positive way of life. Let's take lessons from these humbling stories.

Josephine Akumbuno, where in Germany? Did you get a name? The family in Ghana could be wanting to know? I arrived in Germany about the time he did, but I left for the US in 81. I just might know him.

Ghanaians seems think if you're in abroad and you don't build house in Ghana is a failure, mean why is not true if you build house is good but is not failure
@AbdulJawula

If you are planning to move back to Ghana one day then a house/land is a must. The only reason why you shouldn't build in Ghana is if you know for certain that you shall never return home.
