All the effort is paying dividends! The landscaping and plants/foods/fruits add so much to the ambience... We wish the Hightower family all the best during this holiday season... May the blessings keep heading your way... You've earned them all! Here, we're doing the same... Enjoying the time while working to achieve our plans... As with gardening, you have to work the "soil" (prep) to harvest the fruits... 🙏🙏🙏 👍😇👍

Great video Madame Mel. Unfortunately, I have to buy large sacks of carbonised rice hulls for conditioner for my soil( only 80 pesos tho😊!) Here in Pangasinan . Back in the days(B4 i actually moved here), on my annual visits, all our neighbours used to laugh at me, when I collected up all the cow and goat( you know what!!!) lying around. Years later, they come around to ask for the products of my hard labour! Never thought of doing it for themselves!😮 Back in England, on my nearby beach, I would gather up seaweed for my garden( concentrated seaweed liquid extract is availble, for tomatoes especially!). At one time here, I had 25 rabbits. Their " waste"!, also is great for plants. Believe it or not. In some parts of the world, rabbit farmers collect the urine and sell it in bottles for fertilser.( Check that out on utube?!). Had thought before, about you keeping rabbits. The meat is very healthy , my family enjoyed mine. ( Go for the larger breeds( New Zealand white, for example ). Had to teach them how to skin them tho, (the first time, they burnt of the fur first!! Lol). Finally, might be an idea to buy a " proper" strong garden for cultivation , aeration of the soil , lawn and digging. Not sure if you have earthworms. But we do, hate cutting thru them using a shovel. They do so much good in the garden. Hope you all had a great xmas. Regards to all Roger. Btw for rock afficianados, check out Nazca lines. For ideas!? Lol

I love the gardening videos, Mel! I watch the Bumblebee Hanna videos also for the garden, but your vegetable and fruit garden is so much bigger! And your landscaping also is so beautiful, it makes the heart at peace. Dito sa Florida mayroon kaming "Co-Op". Sa Co-Op ang mga taong gustong mamitas ng prutas at gulay ay tumutulong sa gawaing hardin. I am sure they have Co-Op in Texas also, you can ask James. The rooms for vacation are just beautiful, if I come Philippines, I will book the vacation rental with the Resort. Thanks for all your hard work on this video, it is such a beautiful and amazing online experience!

Mel your doing a good job landscaping the garden. Try and persuade James to fell your coconut palms and replace them with dwarf coconut palms. With lots of people comming into your compound in the future as visitors and gyests the danger of a coconut falling and injuring someone becomes greater as you cannot predict when it will happen and not everyone is savvy about the dangers. I personally have witnessed the effect of a coconut hitting someone and its not nice at all. I took all my tall palms down in my own compound and replaced them with dwarf palms for this very reason. Keep up the good work.
@TexasFilipino5 күн бұрын
It is illegal for us to remove these. We can get a permit if it meets valid reason but think of this. This place will be ugly and hot without the trees. It will be like that for many years waiting for little dwarf trees to grow. We remove the coconuts. Plan and easy.

Mel don’t let people friends and family take advantage of your generosity your hard work and your harvest because people will do that unfortunately that’s a lot of people‘s nature. You should always make sure you have enough for your household and your family first I’m pretty sure that’s yours and JamesOutlook on your lifestyle to be self-sufficient.
