Penance will be sold in the shop early next year, probably around the time the Siege Alter banner comes around. If you save 180 gold certs you can still get her! Four things in Saria's favor. 1. She's a substantial improvement over Gummy at both tanking and healing and she does a lot more than just tank and heal. 2. She can do a 60% slow on every nearby enemy and increase any Arts damage against them by 55%. This pairs extremely well with Ifrit who also applies a RES debuff on enemies and Logos who makes enemies take extra damage whenever they're hit by any Arts. She's one of the best buffers for casters in the game, and you have some of the best casters in the game. 3. She's also an SP battery. Every time she heals an ally she restores extra SP to them. More SP means more skills. She synergizes even further with Ifrit since they're both Rhine Labs operators and her module makes her give Rhine Labs allies even more SP. 4. The most important thing is that you need to check out her skin, "The Law." You can find it in the catalog under the Test Collection brand. Look for police cap. If that doesn't convince you, I don't know what to say. You know, I should have just put this as #1 and left the other three blank, but I'm too lazy to fix that now.

I mean technically for super high difficulty content, afk infinite duration operators are almost never meta. Since the meta HEAVILY favour's huge burst damage over consistent damage, which Thorns can't provide big PP burst dmg. That said for casual stages he's definitely amazing. But people base meta off from the highest difficulty content in the game. Inside his niche Thorns is king. But his niche itself doesn't show up as much on the really difficult stages. But since I doubt Clay will ever get to that anytime soon, I think Thorns wouldn't be a bad choice.

Penance and mudrock are pretty different and one isnt really better than the other. In general mudrock is better against hard hitting enemies as she has regenerating shields that negate 1 instance of damage each and penance is better against a bunch of weaker enemies to stack up her barrier. Mudrock is my go to as she can heal herself (especially on s2) and its easier to put her down and forget about her, penance requires a bit of forethought to get her going (but not much).

It's a 6* if the bag is on fire (like actual fire-looking fire) and also the "splash" effect when the bag fully opens is a rainbow. What you got with Mizuki was a low-chance "ruse" where the bags insides look like a 5* (gold light, no fire) but you get the 6* rainbow splash.

Saria isn't just "gummy but better", saria healing is leagues above gummy, she can aoe heal, skill 3 massive range heal and increase arts dmg taken, she gets more stats the more time spent on field and gives SP to units she heals, i know the units in the selector are old but they are far from bad just because new characters are just so broken

Penance ain't a mudrock on crack, they are pretty much just sidegrades to each other, mudrock is for big singular bosses, while penance is for lots of small to medium enemies that needs to snowball. Both can outperform each other depending on the situation. For your needs however....penance can be better for general story content. Mudrock truly shines in more high pressure situations

Well, if you don’t want any of the males, then the remaining 3 f operators are all good. Exusiai is good, you can always use a good marksman sniper. Her skill one is Kroos S1, but better. Her S2 is very good. I don’t know how your economy is right now, but 6 stars are big investments. So if someone requires S3 to be worth it, then I wouldn’t recommend them to you. Exu is useful at E1, so she is good. And you sound like you want her. Saria is also a good option, but you got gummy. She has no lewd skins, but she has a skin dressed as a prisioner guard. Not lewd, but cool. Her S3 is good, but she can heal since s1. Blaze is someone I think you don’t have yet, as an archetype. An aoe guard, she can hit as many enemies as she can block. Her S2 is afk and good, so she doesn’t need E2 to be great. I would recommend you Exu or Blaze honestly. But you can’t go wrong with them.

Penance sadly isn't the strongest defender, she's just the strongest juggernaut defender however she is probably still the overall 4th or 5th strongest defender, with Saria being somewhere within the top 3 (Horn and Shu being the other two up there, Shu probably being the best) Beehunter is in the same subclass as Mountain but that subclass is unfortunatley pretty worthless nowadays with Mountain being the extreme exception, there was actually one event where Beehunter excelled at and would've been worth building for, that being Invitation to Wine, of course you should still build a bunch of 4 stars for IS and Beehunter is at least useful for a few things, unlike Jackie, so if you find her interesting, build her use your two weekly event unlocks

you can tell if you get a six star right away if the light coming from the bag is rainbow colored (it'll be gold if the highest rarity is a 5 star, or white if the highest is 4 star).

Even though the 6* selector operators aren't "meta" anymore there are situations where you use each of them still so they're not obsolete either, just more niche than they used to be. I would agree that Thorns would be the best for your since he's really good in IS 2 and 3 and situations where you have smaller squads since he's kind of a jack of all trades type operator that fulfills a lot of different roles. He's also really good in annihilation. You do need to get him to E2 though before you use him. That being said, all of them would be useful for you as 6* are significantly stronger than other operators even the ones that have aged a bit.

I’d get Saria. Every other op on the ticket is just dps with varying amounts of laneholding, which is very easy to come by since there are countless ops that do similar things. Saria on the other hand has really good role compression and utility, and the only op who competes with her is Shu who is a limited. Gummy and nearl do somewhat similar things only if you’re looking to replace Saria for her s1. Saria s2 has immense range that can cover multiple lanes(which nearl and gummy can’t) and her s3’s arts amp doesn’t compete with other damage amp effects, unlike fragile effects, so it will always be good.

Bruh who said she was not good 😭. Her DPS is amazing against lower defense enemies due to its nature (shoots five times in a row per normal shot) and with buffs she (arguably) becomes one of the best dps in game. She's really easy to use, is reliable in most scenarios outside of high defense, and is best girl so that too 👍(though I recommend her jp voice imo) Edit: I just said Exusiai was good and started a war against myself? She definitely not a bad operator, but is also not top of the meta, so I called her good. But APPARENTLY what I said is a war crime. exu is a good AA sniper. but are AA snipers a good class nowadays? no. that’s exu’s problem. the whole class struggles when def goes up even slightly, and exu can’t deal with anyone that you’d really want dead in a stage because those enemies typically have higher def. she works well barring high def enemies might’ve been brilliant at launch but isn’t good enough anymore in the modern state of the game. as for buffing her, if you have to bring a legion of (or even just one) buffer for an operator to perform well when you could just take another dps and achieve the same result, then the operator is just not up to par. why bring warfarin+exu when you could just take a better ranged unit and use the slot for someone else, especially since there are only 12 team slots? this is especially obvious because the sniper class is extremely oversaturated. exu’s new mod on CN helps a lot, though. she’s a lot better with that, but currently we don’t have it…. of course, you could always find niches or specific stages where she shines, like when hit count matters. arknights is a game where you can make almost every unit work. but she’s aged the worst out of all the ops on the selector ticket. that’s why she’s ‘bad’.

@i2krhtd I feel that calling her bad is doing a disservice to her kit. Is it weaker than it was on release. Yes, but it's not the kit that was weaker, but rather the meta around that has grown. Her kit is still very powerful, but requires help to boost it to its max potential. As to what I said about the buffs, I never said it would make her on par with modern characters, but rather that her potential dps far surpasses the majority of the characters in game, and it's due to how her attacks work. Also if Clay's going to choose one of the six operators from that ticket, out of all of them Exusiai is the one he is in favor of choosing. He doesn't need Blaze because he has Mountain, and same goes with Mountain, his gummy is built so I don't think he needs Saria at the moment, Thorns is a high investment unit, with his value only coming through after S3 M3, and module ig. Silver Ash arguably offers better value than Exusiai since is damage is better despite having lower dps, and his talents are more useful (albeit for later content) and class is better for his current team, but it's the fact that Clay doesn't like men in his team. He chooses them because they're strong and make the game a little easier, but if I were him, and had to choose a character who is marginally better, but someone I do not care about vs a character I do care about who is marginally worse, I'd pick the character I want. Also, Exusiai is still very good when it comes to daily content. Contrary to belief, she still murders modern enemies quite quickly. Her damage only gets jammed by three enemies without any mods. But at the end of the day, Exusiai is "bad" in comparison to the cockroach that blows have the stage up, and it's the Clay's job to choose the operator that won't get him roasted by the community.

You can confirm an operator's gender in their profile, simply tap the button next to the skin change button at the top of operator building screen and then tap the upper most button in the menu that opened up, you can read their names, height, gender, combat experience and the fact that they're infected or not. Melanite is really nice! Her s2 is an amazing AoE burst, which is great for clearing huge masses of enemies and also for killing elites! Just needs some extra thought in her positioning and she's amazing!

i mean i use both penance and mudrock in one deck and mudrock is more consistent with heavy damage/slow attacks whilst penance can take tons of small damage quick attacks,they both have their good usage

About the banners, the standard banners are basically bait. You cannot guarantee one or the other, they have no pity as far as Im aware, getting Mizuki ≠ getting Penance and the other way around and you can lose your 5050 to anyone else as well. And its a 5050 between the two rate ups on top. So you have to win the 5050 to get a rate up and THEN win another 5050 to get the operator you want. So you can technically go random 6 star, random 6 star, Mizuki, Mizuki, random 6 star...and so on and never see a single Penance. If you want any of the standard banner 6 stars its best to save your gold certs (180 total per) and wait until they appear in store or hope you "lose" to them (note here that we have a split between Kernel banner and normal banner, Kernel banner meaning the "core" 6 stars aka the "older" ones, Mudrock just moved to the Kernel banner as far as I am aware so you cannot get her on any upcoming or standard banners as far as I know).

And about the 6 star selector, basically all of them are amazing, all of them want E2 ofc and only Mountain, Blaze and Saria are good at E1 as well. However the endgoal is always E2 anyways so you shouldn't keep them at E1 if you want to actually use them. Go for whatever role you want filled (laneholder, big dps, healing defender etc) basically. I personally recommend Saria but any of them are a solid choice. Note that 6 stars will always have a higher ceiling than lower rarities so even if you have two operators of the same role, the 6 stars usually have a little bit extra on top (added to that there's niches, niches are one of the main reasons why some operators may be used over others, Gummys heal is different from Sarias and thus they occupy slightly different niches, each excellent in their own ways but Saria is just a bit more stacked in terms of stats and gets two modules, has 3 skills and so on because she's a 6 star). Thorns and SA are quite good again due to their modules. Note here that mods are a high investment that'll cost a lot ON TOP of the already high cost of E2ing an operator, getting them to the required level and so on. And module blocks are semi-rare. Or at least quite limited. This is all stuff that you'll encounter later on. However, all of the 6 stars we can pick from are good and all of them get uplifted (or lifted back up to former glory) via their modules. Modules are always an improvement, some may just not be worth it.

Saria is more manageable since you only need her s1. You can't do anything with non E2 penance, her s1 pretty good but her winner skill is S3. There's a reason why some people skipped Shu THE best defender in the game, because they already have Saria. supah propaganda is at work

For me they are not really out of meta. They are still better than most, only that now there are now a handful of operators that can fill the same role, and depending on the situation, may be better than them. As far as I've seen on your playstyle though, I think it would be better for you to get Saria. Saria is not simply "better gummy", in most situations she is a better healer. Her s2 in particular is an AoE heal, and being a ground unit, she can be positioned almost anywhere vs medics that will eat up a range tile for your ranged dps. With Wis Adel and Logos at your party you don't really need to worry about your dmg most of the time but I do notice you lacking a proper frontline, so I highly suggest going for Saria.

Chat only told you to pull for Ulpianus because he’s meta as fuck for the guards and will help you a lot in the rogue like modes when you do them. It’s worth it if you ask me but depending how casual you are it won’t matter how you play, you can clear the game with a lot of ops, it’s just some make it easier. But seriously though Ulpianus is broken more so in the roguelike mode especially with is5 coming up. With certain items he can literally use his s3 back to back to back to back to back non stop. However. Penance and her skin is hot thanks. I’m lucky though I have penance max pot from her original banner with Texas alter, so bonk. I got Ulpianus in 6, I win both ways

you can differentiate from a 5 star and 6 star if its just golden light without special effects its just a 5 star if it has like a golden fire animation its a 6 star and theres a bait one it looks like a 5 star at first when u open the bag cuz its just the normal golden light but if you fully open the bag and there is like a rainbow light on it then that is a 6 star so when u pulled mizuki it had a golden light just like 5 stars but when u fully opened the bag it had the rainbow light with it so it was a 6 star

do the anihilations to sustain your crippling gambling addiction thats 3 pulls a week for free and you can get another 1500 per completed anihilation. there are a ton of those for you to do, so you probably have about 50 pulls waiting for you there in the coming weeks. Also don't worry about meta too much, excuse-ya is a nice unit for sure. Saria is an extremely good defender, but if you like gummy you can just use gummy instead. saria does have 2 really strong skills for general healing and her 3rd skill is a very good debuf and CC skill that basically only she has. blaze is also a top tier pick, might be the best pick for you thinking about what you said not pulling for dudes. her second skill is her main skill for most people so no need to e2 her that soon. but honestly just pick who you like and don't listen too much to the meta peeps who just run after the latest and strongest only. you can still clear every content with just units available at launch

get either thorn or silverash. thorn good for afk strategies or annihilations, and silverash is good for revealing invisible unit that got into his range ( crucial for invicible units that cannot be blocked, like flying one)
