56:26 Ok ok so Jurassic park was never meant to work! The movie didnt outwardly say it but had themes of it however the book basically spelled it out for you. John hammond was a scam artist. He literally ran a flee circus in his younger years which is a straight up scam since the whole thing with that is you're supposed to basically gas light people into thinking they can see the flees when there isnt any. John hammond did literally everything in Jurassic park as cheap as possible which is why the first scene of the movie is literally a dude getting eaten and then his family's lawyers trying to get ahold of john. For his security and systems he got Nedry who was literally the cheapest person he could have gotten since the job was put on auction for who would do it for the lowest price. NO ONE WOULD DO THE JOB FOR CHEAPER AND NEDRY MADE THAT CLEAR. And then john didnt even pay him after which is why he jumped ship! The dinosaurs in the book followed the Jurassic world plot of they're not real dinosaurs but genetic amalgamations designed to look like them and the reason "Life finds a way" is a thing in Jurassic park is because one of the animal species they used for the dinosaur DNA was a tree frog that could produce Asexually meaning they didnt need a male to reproduce, so their entirely female dinosaur population could still reproduce even without males. Johns entire plan was to make the park for as cheap as possible, fake several dinosaurs to look real for investors, take all the money he could and close the park and get the hell out of dodge as fast as possible. Thats why he invited the main characters of the book and movie is they were all influential people who after their short guided tour would say good things, get him money and then he'd get out with the money and never be seen again

The novel implies that even without the sabotage the park was destined to fail, the dinosaurs reproduced a lot and no one realized until very late. There should only be 9 raptors and in the end there are approximately 28, the same with the trex and the herbivores
@empdisaster105 ай бұрын
@@anyonemgsg456 Mnhm! Like I said it was never supposed to be successful. It was a cash grab to drum up excitement then once all the investors had invested billions into the park when he only spent a few millions on it he’d basically just get the fuck out before anyone realized what just happened. The entire park was a scam from the start

I'm a Paleontology student working at the Museum of the Rockies. I've worked directly with Dr. John Scannella, who wrote the Triceratops/Torosaurus synonomy paper, not Jack Horner who was a co-author as he was John's Phd Advisor. John is now the Curator of the MoR. It was the press that really did a disservice to that paper making it seem like "Triceratops isn't a dinosaur anymore" when that wasn't at all the idea behind the paper. Torosaurus would be the genus name abandoned. We have the largest collection of Triceratops fossils here in MoR, and John was able to make a very complete ontogeny series with them. All of the currently described Toromorph specimens fit at the end of Triceratops ontogeny. There have been some more recent discoveries that might represent younger Toromorphs, but they haven't been described yet, and I don't think were even found until after the paper was published. John is very amenable to the idea he could be proven wrong and the Museum is actually currently focused on digging up as many Ceratopsian dinosaurs as we can find to get a better sample size for these kind of statistical analysis. Jack Horner has mostly been pushed out of the day to day operations of the Museum. They wheel him out for press events, but anything focused on the Paleo community generally doesn't feature him much anymore. He's doing his chicken de-evolution stuff now anyway. Anyway, I love this game, I just wish they had some more realistic skins. Biggest issue to me is that most of the movie dinos are stuck in the 1990s.

Gonna give my 2 cents on the shoplifting stuff: I personally don't shoplift, but i also dont find anything morally wrong with those who do. Walmart is a multi-billion dollar corporation, and they already factor in potential losses from theft in their estimated profits. Yes, while someone may have bought something from a large corporation, they still bought it, and in stealing it from them, you're infringing on THEIR right to ownership. Not a corporate, something that doesn't have... Uh. Feelings. You also can't just assume everything is shoplifted, because surprise surprise, most people pay. Stealing from someone who paid hard earner money for something is wrong, EVEN IF it was originally owned by a corporate. It essentially boils down to, Corporations can afford the loss, not all individuals can, and individuals have feelings that can be easily influenced from something like stealing from them, like loss, betrayal, annoyance, or anger, while corporations don't.
