I have a heritage audio successor, and honestly, it was worth every penny. one of the most versatile compressors I’ve ever used. But this is not a company I would spend THOUSANDS of dollars on their products…. they’re not there yet. Some of the stuff is just luck of the draw man and I feel like you always have to be careful if you’re going to get a knock off version of something , but maybe that’s just me. For example, everybody raves about audioscape and for the sound quality and value I have to agree, but they sent me a broken bus compressor and basically refused to fix it for like a month until I pressed them hard enough. Every company is going to give at least one person a bad experience. But yeah, that sucks man and I feel for you, but I don’t ever see myself spending more than like 2K on a copy of something. At that point, I would just save up for the real thing. I would try Stam audio if there weren’t so many stories of people waiting two years to get their stuff. Maybe that’s finally improving
@goobstersroom17 күн бұрын
@@hockeytalk6084 you hit the nail on the head with that one! I agree all Audio Units have their own little experiences with the actual units and the companies, I have a friend who had an audioscape 76 and 2a and he wasn’t fond of those because the input impedance had to be very specific and his audio gain was always coming in way to hot into his Apollo. I also have another friend who got blacklisted from stam because he “bugged” the owner with questions about the timeliness for his order. All in all the way I see it is what is worth investing your time into and what is not, And if you have an original unit that is not a clone, obviously it’s worth it to spend the time it takes to properly maintain it, But with all these clones being made and being sold for a premium they can’t expect people to care that much cuz I’m sure most people in the back of their minds might be saying, Why should I even care that much, this is a newly manufactured clone and if the warranty is there these companies should just fix it. At least that’s how I saw it but it is what it is I’m not too upset over it but it’s just changed my experience about how I want to go about getting units from specific companies. Cuz after I bought this tubesessor I honestly don’t think it’s worth any more than $1,500 and that’s being generous lol

Sorry to hear you're having trouble I can totally feel your frustration. Just wanted to make sure you have it set up correctly. Im assuming you have your mic plugged into a preamp? I watched your entire video and from listening and experience; it sounds like you have a bad tube(s)... Where I will agree is that at the price of the unit, even at $2k - I'd expect the company to do a full service check on the unit and/or swap it out... I'd say even try that with Sweetwater (they're pretty awesome at helping their customers) and if you still have an issue continue with swapping for something else Also... it sounds like Sweetwater is willing to take it back and refund you (if I'm hearing correctly)... if so; send the unit back, get a full refund and then purchase a totally new one at the lower price... see if it works and if not go for the other option

Change the tube? YOU HAVE TO REPLACE TUBES! It probably got shook around in delivery from UPS or FedEX. Always have replacement Tubes on hand for every tube in your studio so you never have any down time. Tubes go bad but they don't just die and thats it. Most of the time a bad tube will work until it gets hot and then it will overload and stop working. So you have a bad tube. This is VERY common with Tube gear that is dependent on the tube for the gain stage of the input & output amplifiers. Tube usually last about 1 year, 2 years at the most especially with makeup amplifiers. If you aren't willing to learn how to troubleshoot gear, or change a tube (its simple like a light bulb) then stick with plugins and solid state gear.

You are confusing a lot of things: namely Sweetwater, the US distribution company and Heritage Audio. You say for instance that HA lowered the price - they didn't. It was the distribution company. Then you complain about the customer service of Sweetwater. I mean, I get it, that you are not satisfied with what happend, but only a part of it stems from HA. I do not own the Tubesessor, but other gear from them here in Europe: they are very good products sold for a fair price - much lower here than in the US. I hope you can fix the problem or sell the device so others can work with it.
