I SPRAYED MY 79 SERIES LANDCRUISER WITH RAPTOR LINER!

Thanks for tuning in, you get a bit of a double episode tonight. There's another game changer in town!
In this episode I finally got the 79 series front panels cleaned up and resprayed the big girl. I used a 4L raptor liner kit, tinted to Toyota Beige 4E9 which is more commonly known as Sandy Taupe

Pro tip: when making a template to transfer to your sheet metal take some white paper, a pencil, and a dirty finger or thumb, lay the paper over the area you want to trace, throw pencil behind you, take dirty finger and trace the edge of area you want to copy. Last step say to yourself, thank you stranger! 😉

great video mate I'm thinking about raptor coating my toyota landcruiser 105 series, did it make much mess as in on the ground and or around were you sprayed the 79? i do love that Toyota beige colour i had a 60 series that colour about 20 years ago your 79 looks mint now mate. im not sure if i will go for the same finish as yours or a bit finer if i could.

Thanks mate, I bought this one off grays in Brisbane, but after buying it I found out it had sold at a smaller auction house a few months before and had a really dodgy respray and detail. Hassalls auctions were a good option but they have been bought out by pickles, manhiems auctions often have exmines gear also. I paid 22K from memory plus fees, probably around 25 all up

Just one coat, there’s a couple of spots where it’s a bit thin but if it bothers me I’ll buy another kit and go over it again

Not sure if your still active an old videos comments, but how did you remove the vents behind the doors on that B Pilar area? Same goes for the front window and rear window. Got the rest of the car stripped but those parts.

Hey mate, yep still trying to make videos, I got busy with a flood cleanup contract and just haven’t had time lately. There’s a fixing in each corner of the black plastic trim, one end pushes in, the other end slides forward or back, I can’t remember exactly which end does which. Mine were stuffed so I just taped up the hole for rego, I’ll fold up a steel panel when I get to it

A little under 4L for one good coat then a light dusting to get the texture even

I really want to do this to my patrol! But I don't have the room to do it :( - Does it have strong smell? I am thinking F*c the neighbours and do it anyways ;P Also, did you mix it with random car paint or is that supplied by raptor also?

No it doesn’t smell bad at all. I did it on my driveway so ventilation wasn’t an issue, but I have done raptor in the garage it’s not too bad with a fan and the window open. For the colour you just get 10% of your raptor volume (400mL for 4L raptor kit) of 2 pack base coat from an automotive paint shop, use whatever colour you like, just be mindful that metallic colours don’t come through with raptor
