'I Stand By the Language': Bible College Fires Professor for Tweet Against Sexual Sin

A professor at a Bible college in the U.K. has been fired for tweeting that homosexuality “is invading the church.”
Dr. Aaron Edwards was ousted from his position at Cliff College in Derbyshire, England, after he posted a tweet promoting a biblical view of homosexuality. College administrators soon thereafter fired the theologian for “bringing the college into disrepute” with his social media post.
He spoke with CBN's Faithwire about his comments, which he made clear he does not regret, the motivation behind the tweet, what his future plans are, and how he has found solace in God's faithfulness amid such difficult circumstances.

The professor has all my sympathy and admiration. I was a Cliff College student in 1976-77. How far has the College fallen!! Those college authorities are wolves in shop skins, I wonder what Samual Chadwick would think about this. Why is it so hard for people to understand that you can love others without co-signing their sin? I've often compared it to addiction. If my child was an addict, I'd still love them, but that doesn't mean I'd buy them drugs or tell them it's okay to use. When you love someone, you're suppose to be honest, even when it hurts. It's not like we're trying to force them to change. In fact, on the contrary. It is they who are trying to force us to change, but somehow we're in the wrong. Are they God phobes or Bible phobes? Thanks for taking courage and speaking truth! We have reached this point because of cowardice in the church. As a society we went from affirming gay marriage to accepting 50-100 genders like it was truth in less than ten years, all while most in the church were silent. The cowardly silence made it easier to bully the few with courage. The battle lines are being drawn all over the world. Even here in an Ontario (Canada) a 16 year old young man who attends a "catholic" high school reported to the principal that the girls in his classes were very distressed by the fact that boys were allowed to use their washrooms. He put forth his Christian views to the principal but the principal, instead of understanding and agreeing with Josh, expelled him. A few days later when Josh tried to return to his school the police were called and he was srrested for trespassing. Josh now has al awyer. Sadly here in Canada we don't have First Amendments like they have in the US such as freedom of speech and freedom of religion. But things are bad south of the border as well. He is angry God would call it sin when they were born that way. We are all born sinners. If we don't call sin, sin--how can people be set free or know they need a savior? I ended the discussion by saying the most important thing is what we believe about Jesus and what we do with Him. Persecution is real and we must be willing to speak God's truth no matter what the cost. I agree -we either believe the bible or we don't

May the Lord continue to BLESS you & yours for the courage to stand up for His Word! I wanted to share with you something that I said to someone who was wanting to challenge me re homosexuality. (I had discerned that she would be confronting me about it, so I asked God to give me a suitable & satisfying answer for her.) So, when she asked, "What do you think about homosexuality?", my answer to her (given by the Lord, I believe), was "It doesn't really MATTER what I think, does it. It only matters what our CREATOR says about it...and He makes it very clear that it is an abomination." I knew, for sure, that it must have been from the Lord because she was immediately satisfied with that response. She even said, "That's a REALLY good ANSWER!" And under my breath, I thanked our Heavenly Father for His ever present help in time of need.

Thank you for standing your ground on your beliefs. You are teaching us all as Christians to stand for what our values and beliefs are. Indeed we do not hate the individuals but the sin according to the gospel. I have encountered a few and their personality is infectious. It's the sin being called out as Christians. I stand with you, brother, and this has happened here in the USA as well. It's sad to see this happening in the churches, but God isn't in those churches, but in each one of us, we are the church and the Holy Spirit lives inside of each of us.
