Fire clay is easier to obtain in 1.20. You can turn regular clay to fire clay by mixing it with calcinated flint. What's best is that you can get both clay and flint from panning. Panning for the win!

I think you will be disappointed with the passive mobs thing. I tried it, and I thought that only the animals like wolves and bears would be affected but I found out that drifters are so passive that even if you attack them they won't fight back. Additionally, don't get too comfy with the passive thing. Other than drifters, animals will attack you if you provoke them. For bears and wolves, that means attacking them. For pigs, it means just existing. Pigs are the real enemy in passive mode.
