In my first video, I mentioned I started a faith community to explore an alternative way of doing church. This is an update on how it is going, and my reflection on the journey so far.

My Dad who is a Pastor had to Finish our church ministry as It was down to 2 families. My parents couldn't cope with the stress. It's like after years of Ministry, a weight had been lifted off. We are now focused on our family, Health and Ministering where ever we can. I had been in church for so long just going through the motions. It felt like a Chore. Being so involved with Church activities, I didn't spend enough time looking inwards. Church community is good. But when it becomes a chore and your energy put into it just strains on your Mental Health. We sowed the seed into people's lives. Now they can go and spread the good word to others. The Man at the Bus Stop... The Co-Worker at work... The Ice Cream Lady... The Atheist during Lunch break... The Online Comments... The Social Media... The Angry Customer... Our Family... These Are Our Ministry! Peace and God Bless!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I can understand the burden, and the crushing expectation of wanting to let go but feel like you just have to keep going. Praying for your family and you, cherish those precious moments you have together.

I too, left a ministry position with frustrations and questions about how to do church authentically and fruitfully. I too have become a part of another church because I understand the treasures in the Lord that come from community. Thank you for giving voice to what was hard for me to articulate. Your journey encourages me and lets me know I’m not alone.

Yes! Same here! I left a full time minister position and every Christian around me questioned me a lot, I felt really stressed out and no one seems to understand me. But now I am working in homeless aged care centre, there are people with no hope and loneliness, I am so happy to serve them at the last stage of their life and I never thought God opens this kinda way for me. It’s a challenging job I am still getting into it, eventually I can see the meaning of it, bring community to Jesus! Thank you for following Jesus and stepping out!

Happy New Year 2023 Bro Jon Ngan :) .... you have no idea how much the Church scrutinize me when I told them that I wanted to travel the world for a few years. Some (not all) only care about weekly Sunday attendance & leaving God's covering. The Holy Spirit can cover me anywhere but not all understand.

From the Philippines.. Sometimes life will leads you to disappointments, confusion, frustration and pain. But God is sovereign. Even we don't understand what is happening in our life, still God has purpose and God has a plan. We are human, we have limitations, we are weak and vulnerable, and it's a reminder for us to really humble ourselves, to depend and trust in Him. God must be the center of our life.

So glad your were bold enough to speak what churches are not willing to do. Asking questions is very important to the body of believers. We are not required to have all the answers. But listening to questions is healthy.

Hey Jon. I just want to say I don't judge you negatively for continuing this channel. More than finding this an opportunity the usual way, it's really a place for us who has, to some extent, similar experiences. I can relate to a lot of things you have, are going through. Thank you for keeping this channel up and running!

Hi Jon. I hear you, and I even hear what your not saying. I've been in a similar situation than you. You say you don't want to sound dramatic, but reality is way more dramatic and complex than you share, and only you know what you've seen and done at the Curch world. Love you brother. Thanks for sharing. God bless you!

Yes, that is a good idea. Serve or intern somewhere for a while to get some experience. People, project, place - find the right people, decide on the model, then only find the place - in this order.

Simplified, not all about ourselves, you did take it too personally serving God in Church. All about serving God even without Man's recognition. Serving God is not about achievement. If you guided by the right spirit, then decisions might be different. . .

Check out the Mormons. Ive been talking to the missionaries and I’ve been blown away. As a life long Christian I’ve never given any attention to them. But as I’ve humbled myself, and listen to what they have to say, I’ve been moved and touched by the Holy Spirit stronger than I ever have in my entire life. What they say is true I know it and God knows it. I’m scheduled to be baptized next month.

@@thisisjonngan I'm open for prizes Haha Anyway, I'm so blessed with this vlog. I've learned opinions and experience are subjective, and they're not the drivetrain of the truth. I've been in a ministry where you can't go against their system, and you'll be intimidated asking questions or criticizing because you know for sure that God invests so much of his power through scripture, which is the highest authority, and they interpret scripture with their own feelings or how they feel to interpret it, not in an exegetical approach. My heart is so happy watching this vlog because it's not just me who experiences this struggle. I'm praying for you, Ptr. Jon, that you may always trust and rest in the sovereign will of God. All glory belongs to God 🙌🏼

The problem is his doubt about God of the past, and God's purpose becomes always an elusive future unknown. His reasoning sounds like confirming that the Spirt was wrong in each every step in his past decisions...., really? Institutional church has a role too in God's kingdom as well as small close community church, cannot deem one is better or more holier, cannot judge its man made even there were many long meeting for admin and planning, these are facts, but cannot reach the same conclusion that God is not in it, sorry, by Faith I trust God is on it as much as a small community church, even I also like that close fellowship myself, but calling them unbiblical? Not Jesus' type? I too has questions about instituional church but I can also see God's work in it. My question is what happen if John lster find that again, community churches has its own internal problems too, where do you God from there if that happens again. Are you sure you have the skill set n temperment for a community church which is new to your? Its not any less challenging as the big churches has, Faith, remind our best mind set in any circumstances.

Dear Pastor, by virtue of your experience in the Bible, why don't you try to interact with the debates of Muslim preachers with Christian missionaries to learn about your point of view? Such as the dialogues of these Muslim preachers: DawahIsEasy Channel, DUS Dawah Channel(shamsi), and One Message Foundation Channel (Sheikh Othman bin Al-Farouq) ,The Muslim Lantern( Mohamed Ali), Sheikh Mohammad Tarawneh, I am “THE WARNER” ,One True Message Foundation.

I m kind of sad.. In the whole conversation.. You are an institution Christian.. I dun sense you know your Jesus as a lover, savior and first love.. What is discipleship, attending classes in church, do this do that?. Christianity is not about going through the motion in Church. It is about you and Jesus.
