Never saw him play live, didn't listen to any of Nemesis' songs until 2015. I'd heard of Maher bhai so frequently, heard his music and that he'd left music to devote himself to Islam. Must say that the man sounds so eloquent and well versed. He seems so confident and at peace with himself. Almost to an extent that he made Jon bhai look a little fazed and unsure of himself.

THB, John seemed underprepared for this episode and I felt like there was so much more to explore through this conversation. Maher khan is not 'someone', he's 'something'. I cann't even express what I am trying to say, but I feel like a lot of blank spaces in this episode. You are still a legend Maher Khan, I don't know if you realize this fact.

John didn’t do any homework for this episode at all . he can have personal conversations with him like that but when he is doing podcast , people wanna hear more constructive and interesting stuff. I felt like he is lost and he don’t know how to keep moving his conversation with interesting way . I was so excited to see Maher cause he usually don’t come to media after his retirement from music but very disappointed.

So so happy to see this. I remember the time when I first heard Nemesis with "Hold On" and being just mesmerized by the sheer energy and positivity of this band. As a resident of Kolkata (Epar Bangla) I have grown up with Bangladeshi music and Maher bhai, as an extension of Nemesis became an inspiration for the music I try to do today in a small capacity. It was such a sad day for me personally when I suddenly got to know Maher bhai left music, but today, after seeing this, I feel so happy for him that he is doing well. Just to add, Maher bhai is so damn articulate when he speaks, and I feel I'm getting to know him in a completely new manner. Much love to you both

Maher bhai, I loved each and every composition you have ever made and I do respect your personal decision on your personal life. Now where I can't agree is, when you said you got englitment and you were thinking about existence and why you are here, these made you choose your path. Great! I am happy for you. But brother you touched so many souls unknowingly. Touched the depths of people's hearts and minds, like Jon bhai was saying. My question is was it bad? Was it harmful? Well maybe in your thought process and belief, it was! But it was not for us, the common, very common young humans who were learning about life. I do understand you have a strong ground on your belief and you have the right to. I just want to say, the world would be a bit better for us who knew you, if you were doing those riffs again and making some new ones. It would not hurt anyone! God bless you and your family

I was in a slipknot concert in Toronto and i think that made me a die hard fan of slipknot not because of how flawless the band was but because they gave immense respect to their fans. He said things like “put the lights on i wanna see my family(fans in this context)” ; He said also “plz make sure people around you are comfortable we are here to have a good time take care of each other” I don’t know if Bangladeshi musicians say the same or care or feel the same for their musicians. Also the ticket prizes were cheap, it was only $40 compared to other musicians who charge >300$ in Canada. What i feel is that Bangladesh musicians need to be more humble and respectful of their fans and the same goes to the fans. Just an opinion i shared because two of my favourite musicians are having a great discussion.
@msid7748
@msid7748 Жыл бұрын
I think Bangladeshi musicians are pretty cold in that respect. They are unable or unwilling to see what an emotional impact their music had on listeners. They think their fans are being overly sentimental. They see music as just a silly phase in their lives, before they disappear and start the 9-5 corporate life. Even the ones still in the industry stop making new material after dropping 2-3 albums and just replay the same songs live for decades.

Nemesis back in 2010 was very connected to the audience. But yeah nothing in the level of slipknot

@@dhrubodx i remember once Rafa wrote in his fb story or i guess he posted “music doesnt need u u need money” but then again he is talking about us fans not being financially rewarding of his music, u knw that movement art is not free(i agree to it) but the post was rafa is contradictory to the entire notion of “art is not free” that means the artist needs us as much as we want his art. As i said musicians and the fans both need to be humble. No ones above or below anyone, yall make great music which we as fans appreciate and thats why they fetch great streams and views which makes them lots of money. And i dont think any show in bd has ever been free, musicians of bd need to know we students cant afford say 2k taka for a ticket. Again just sharing my opinion not wanting any controversy.
