I think (in my own experience) 100 hours is the new player experience, by then you've unlocked the entire system and that's where the real game begins, you'd also be in the story where a lot of features are usable.

imo I consider new player experience as all the way until the war within. He is having the "new player experience" but he is in the part what I consider as "honeymoon" phase where the enemy levels are low and unchallanging, but that phase will eventually end and he will hit a wall where his loadout will not be enough to match tougher opponents he is facing. So upon hitting that wall, new players either give up or have to grind for upgrades. Due to him getting help from chat and bunch of gifts, the "wall" in question might not be as tough on him as its on average new player so it should be kept in mind.

A quick question for you if you can help me here. I am on planet Uranus at the moment and for the junction to next planet it states that I have to complete the Natah quest which kind of clashes with everyone's opinion that we should unlock the entire star system and then do quests. As per warframe wiki I should do "Stolen Dreams" and "The New Strange" before "Natah" to better understand the story. What should I do in this case?

@@nmlearnerforever You're supposed to do quests as you go through the star chart if you can. Follow the wiki imo, that's what I did. If that's too much, weigh out your options, think about what's more interesting or would be more fun to you.

Just FYI, the Mastery Ranks dont gain affinity, they get get EXP from leveling up unmastered equipment, completing missions the first time, junctions, increasing ranks in syndicates.

@@uzielhernandez6537 So ranking up equipment gives you mastery exp when it is the first time, a weapon is 3000 mastery exp while a frame gives 6000 exp. This also counts for weapon variants (so mk1-braton, braton, braton prime and braton vandal all give you mastery exp for leveling them up for the first time) However you cannot get more mastery exp if you buy a second standard braton after your first, as this does not count as a first time rank up.

Having played a game similiar to Warframe (like Destiny) and having someone guide you (like ur chat) are both best remedies for getting lost. What your chat mentioned about setting yourself a goal is good for not getting burnt out early, because at some point the game opens up and you get like 10 different paths to follow and thats where new players hit the wall.

If I had to recommend something, its either a) continuing the main quest (at one point these quests become very entertaining) or b) look up any cool thing you might be interested in and ask in global chat how to get it, there will be players willing to help you out. Some examples are: Necramech, Railjack, Eidolons, Kuva Liches, Duviri

@@chriskrause84 in my opinion chasing power is a sure way to get discouraged from playing. Since the game tries to pair you up with others, getting "carried" through bad missions is by no means a bad thing. There's a point in late game where you realise that everything is good. And trying out as much things as possible will skyrocket you through mastery ranks. The main thing limiting your power are mods, so invest in them equally, because each mod level costs way more. Insead of maxing one you could get 4-5 to half their level. You'll be doing big dmg in no time

Yes, a lot of people do this, can't blame them. Especially since the actual game opens up only after about 150-200 hours. That's when the real game begins. This is not a joke, by the way. It's not one of these comments "it gets better after 100 hours, trust me." You get to experience real plot reveals after a hundred hours. Nobody talks about them, because those kind of spoliers can't be unlearned, and it's just rude to spoil the game this way. If you manage to spend 100-150 hours in Warframe, you get a AAA story for free.

You'll hit a point eventually (usually around Sedna I'd say, but you might start noticing it on Deimos too) Where you start to need modding to keep up with the enemy progression. That's kinda where new players who don't have help understanding mods get stuck and either quit or power through. It's def better now that it was. (much better) but there is still a big learning curve to mods. Builds and just loadouts in general. Way I learnt was to pull up builds other people had made on overframe and try and understand the why of them. The other part of the barrier is grind. And you'll know when you hit that. Grind burn out is the other big reason people quit.

Some tips: - Roll to reduce damage (number is around 50 or 75% I forget which ), for some attacks it also lets you not get staggered (like the laser walls in Corpus maps) - you can completely stealth spy missions if you would like. It’s a good idea to start getting used to doing so because it not only teaches you the paths to take but later game Spy missions are much more complex and take more steps to beat - Warframe has endless missions run by a rotating loot table which triggers at a certain checkpoint (completing so do objectives, surviving so so minutes, etc). The order is AABC for most with letters standing for an individual loot table, which typically loops back to A Essentially you can play endless missions to constantly loop loot drops, and often each loop enemies harder - but you also get little boosts that help you gain more I bring this up cause some weapons and warframes require delving into endless missions to get their parts and blueprint Some normal missions have side objectives which also operate on the ABC system, like how sabotage has 3 storage crates and spy gives you a reward for unlocking each vault safely

Rewards in warframe missions tend to fall into rotations. So if you are doing an excavation mission, your first two rewards will be from the A rotation, your third reward will be from the B rotation, and your 4th reward will be from the C rotation. Then the rotation resets back to A. So if you spend 12 waves in a mission, you'll get AABC,AABC,AABC. So if it's better to stick around, or extract immediately, depends on what you want. If you just want to complete the mission for star-chart progress, then a one and done is fine. If you want loot from the A rotation, you probably wanna do two waves, extract, then relaunch the mission. If you want loot from the B or C rotation, then you want to leave on an interval of 4 balancing the time wasted loading out and into the mission, with the increase in difficulty level.

One thing I noticed as I started playing recently is that for the slots that half the mod capacity, which ever mod you use should be upgraded to even number because if its odd then the game halves the value and scales it to next integer. So 13 and 14 both becomes 7. In this case then having 14 by upgrading the mod gives better % of the mod benefit. Its a min-max thing but still good to know.

The game isn't THAT complex. There's a lot of features, sure, but they're all drip fed to the player. You get plenty of time to learn the different mechanics. There's even in-game tutorials for just about anything.

15:17 it really depends since you are getting the hang of parkour ,you are evading and mitigating most of the damage that you could receive in the fight(little tip,rolling gives you 75% damage resistance and inmunity to stagger,so if you want to bipass a laser wall or there is an attack that you cant evade do a barrel roll! ),plus the jackal fight has been reworked to be more easier to read but overall?dificulty in warframe is mostly defined by your loadout,and you are decently equiped so i doubt you will ran into any trouble at least until saturn after lv 30-40 you need to lock in

You asked about doing multiple drills. The game uses a Rotation system for rewards on Endless missions, which Excavation is. It uses an AABC system, which means there are 4 loot pools. The first 2 successful drills give rewards from the A pool, the 3rd gives a reward from the B pool, and the 4th gives a reward from the C pool. The cycle repeats after that, so the 5th and 6th will give rewards from the A pool again. If just want to complete the mission, you can leave after 1 drill, but if you're looking for a specific reward, you may need to stay longer.

Everything you said is right but only 3 loot pools since A pool happens twice! Also some missions will repeat C rotation after 4th wave and will only give that reward from then on. Think disruptions it’s A A B C then C C C and so on

If you defend every talisman, you will never get the A pool even on round 1 and 2 but after round 3, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a C pool reward Other than that, every endless mission use the AABC rotation

If you always defend the 4 talismans, you will never get the A pool (On round 1, protecting all 4 talismans give you the B pool and at round 4 or above, the system become "locked" where you either get B or C depending on the number of talismans) As for Arbitration, i always thought that it worked like every other endless mission, i simply didn't know that it worked like that but other than that, any endless mission type that doesn't follow the usual pattern of AABC for endless mission, I just don't know about it

The game is good at telling you the very foundation of everything you need to know. Where it falls off is guiding you with what to do with that knowledge. It's kind of like Elden Ring in a way, the game tells you the basics and then just throws you out into the open to figure out everything else on your own. In Elden Ring, it's part of the experience of the game so it's good. In Warframe, it's more of a hindrance and can make newer players lose interest in the game.

Just to clarify something, mastery rank isn't directly tied to weapon xp, or at least not as directly as you may be thinking. Essentially, every weapon will give you MR xp when it levels from 1 to 30, but it only does this once. With a few notable exceptions, reseting a weapon with forma will not let you get any more xp with that weapon. Alongside every weapon and warframe, the first clear of a mission also gives xp. Mastery goes up to 30, and then becomes legendary ranks which i think cap at 4, as we literally cannot get enough xp to get to 5 until more weapons or missions come in.

The reason they changed it is because loterally everyone complained and as they were a company at risk of going under at any point they were forced to revert that decision. Ok so to clarify affinity and mastery rank. Mastery rank serves 2 roles, firstly it gates certain weapons so that you can't just grab something top tier and go ham from rank 1 (that being said usually this is also the case due to access to the resources needed too), secondly, your current mastery rank also do Tate's how much energy a fresh lv1 Warframe, companion or weapon gets to use from the start (eg, when I get my new trim a finished, since I'm MR16, instead of only having 1 energy for mods, I'll be able to use 16). Affinity is used for leveling everything, it's the XP each Warframe, weapon and companion earns, the distinction this has for mastery rank is that when you get any of these things to lv30 (ie max level) for the FIRST time, that piece of gear is considered Mastered and no longer contributed to your mastery rank. Because of this therefore, to increase your mastery rank, you need to continue acquiring new stuff. This is why you will hear of weapons being referred to as "Mastery Fodder" these are weapons that just lack the stats or personality to keep up in most cases in mid to endgame, though paradoxically makes them some of the first things you will want to get after more long term staples like the Heck since you can max their level for the mastery then sell them to open up the slot for something more impactful after. Generally if focusing on mastery ranks, you unlock access to basically everything at rank 14 and after that is about both when the bottleneck for getting mastery starts and when it simultaneously shifts to a more QoL role.

6:23 a few years ago, i stopped doing mastery rank, i was around 24, and just kept it at that level for a year or so, when i decided to complete it, i realized i had gotten so much affinity, i was able to do MR for up to 28. of course, i could only try once per day, but after a certain point, there's no need to worry, as its always better to have bigger MR. the cap for syndicates, your "base" mod capacity for frames, weapons and companions as well as a few other minor things, like the amount of trades with other players you can do per day, are tied to your MR. finally, the main reason to raise your MR is to unlock new weapons. up until a few years ago, many planets and quests required you to be at certain MR ranks, but they removed that. BUT, if you try to trade with another player, and your MR is lower than the part you want to build requires, then you cant trade for it.

8:52 I think what people are talking about with the new player experience is that it can be vary confusing to get into Warframe, since after the tutorial quest it's not clear at all what you're "supposed" to do next. You've had people to ask questions to and help you out, so you really shouldn't come across the issues that people mention, since the VAST majority of those issues stem from just not knowing what is going on. It's kind of like how you noticed the mod system is pretty complicated and can be a bit difficult to understand; imagine if you had no chat to ask for help. The entire game would be like that XD. That's because it does explain itself really well, but most of the explanation is in the tips tab at the bottom or the codex or the UI itself, and not in a much more central place like pop-ups. Which I actually prefer, but I get how it can be confusing unless you just like trying things like I do. Honestly, especially since you have people to ask when you're confused about something (which I applaud you for actually asking and paying attention to people's answers, it doesn't seem like a lot of people do that), you should be golden. This is still considered new player experience. I would say the threshold for no longer being new probably starts once you reach deimos, but could potentially extend as far as finishing all of the first star chart.

There’s a specific resource you can only get through excavation missions called cryotic. You get some every time you complete an extractor or whenever an extractor is destroyed. You’ll need it for crafting certain things, and some items take a lot of it

ngl personally I think giving a new player Octavia is horrible she trivializes so much of the game so hard that it wouldnt surprise me if someone quit bc they believed all endgame would be just Octavia AFK farming and found it repetitive/boring

I recommend turning on a setting in the accessibilities tab in settings that make it so enemies are highlighted. It helps seeing them in the dark and is such a huge qol improvement

Glad your having fun. In all the endless missions, you get stacking reward multipliers and enhanced relics every 5 sets. But if you plan to do that kind of farm, you probably want to bring a team with other loot manipulators. That said, the days where a rare mod went for hundreds of plat are long over (Acolyte mods used to be X farmable per year 0.0 ).

The new player experience never really ends until you’ve done basically everything cause then it’s then just grinding to get specific things but what I can say is that it’s very enjoyable coming back to this game after a year after I took sometime to get into destiny they’ve added and change quiet a lot more right now I can say your just scratching the surface but your doing Great!

"Grinding" is a strong word here, you got really lucky to get all the parts in 3 runs, it usually takes me at least 9 tries because I keep getting the same parts I already have. Great content tho, keep it up! :)

As other Veteran Tennos have said it's so cool seeing a new player learn and get better at the game. We all started a slow and steady tenno only to evolve into an absolute machine of carnage. Also hope he goes Zenurik school so he can ease energy consumption. I didnt feel like I made it out of new player status till like 400 hours or MR 16 when the whole game is your oyster. some1 get this man in a dojo since thats a whole portion of the game. And Stalhta is one of if not the best AR in the entire game.

Tips for endless missions; ( defense, excavation, survival ) There's 3 tiers of loot pool; A, B and C. In this specific order; A,A,B,C,A,A,B,C(repeat) You are incentivized to stay for C rotation as a lot of rewards there are rare gold mods or even Warframe parts, but you may leave anytime ( after the first milestone/reward drop ) And I can't wait to see your reaction to Warframe's version of Xur (Baro Ki'teer)

The new player experience is a lot easier now due to the New Player Codex Guide and just overall QoL that they have been making for Warframe in general. The only thing now that needs help is the Mod knowledge and a how to, but I believe the Koumei update will help that out. Chat helping you with Mods is a bonus but it’s also your experience with Buildcrafting in general that makes it easier.

Parazon is also used in stealth kills. When the target you're fighting has "mercy" on it, and you hit X, it mercy kills the enemy with the parazon. It's also used to kill Sisters of Parvos and Kuva Liches.

Around 11:20 you got the point, new players strougle most of the time bcoz they just dont read anything. Like pressing auto placement for mods, jumping in missions, hunts they not supposed to do yet then act like its the game fault. There is a whole chat ready to help, bot included, well updated wiki and ingame details telling you where to go for what you need. It takes time to collect everything but only depending on the player how fast they get strong, since you pretty much can make strong anything you wish to use.

I'm glad someone commented on it, but absolutely the new player experience isn't hard mechanically, it's hard because a lot of information is very obtuse and it's a lot of systems stacked on each other that aren't fully explained.

It’s hard because you have to do start chart to get steel path and the missions are super repetitive so trying to flew through it burns you out. Everytime I look at a spy mission I about throw up ! 😂

They’ve improved the new player experience substantially. Modding is still a pain point for most new players but they have made junction requirements significantly easier and they do a much better job pointing you in the right direction

I think the reason some people struggle or bounce off the game is that it has so many systems that are only explained once if at all but DE have clearly been making an effort to smooth out the new player experience. A lot of the tutorial sections you are working through simply didn't exist in earlier versions of the game so it was easier to lose direction/motivation. The game demands a lot of investment from you but once you get to some of the big story beats it's absolutely worth the time and effort 😊

lol @8:55 it took me literally on/off months to get all quests and star chart completed while maining D2 (with help). Again - that was on/off warframe here and there. When I was sort of close to completing, I grinded the rest out pretty quick with the knowledge I had acquired up to that point (and also glaive prime / Burston Incarnon was a massive help). Trust me, get it out of the way, be done with the star chart. Also if no one has explained yet - anything that can be crafted in your foundry (warframe or weapons) just craft them. There is a very easy way to level in the game and you’ll need a lot of unranked items to do so (which will very quickly move your MR up)

MULTISHOT isn’t a status effect, it is ALWAYS active. It works with shotguns, snipers, grenade launchers, pistols, rocket pistols, assault rifles, everything.

I spent my first 300 hours in Warframe with no clue what to do. I just liked doing survival and defense missions for fun and leveling new frames. Now this was before I knew how to power level, had a single prime, or even staple mods (intensify, continuity, streamline, and almost every rare weapon mod). This was back in 2015-2016 and I ended up meeting some guys whose clan I joined and they taught me how to actually do things in the game. The last time I was doing the end game in Warframe was when Riven mods and Arcanes were released and I just didn't want to farm any of it anymore. I am pretty much at "mid-game" as a 900 hour veteran at this point and it is weird lol

Totally agree about not knowing what is going on being a better gaming experience. Too many people want to rush to finish games now and not really take their time and enjoy the experience and figure things out yourself. It is getting harder and harder to find people to game with that share this sentiment.

pro tip, a guy said to have a goal right, well its true, in warframe u do need it more or less cuz once u proceed further, fun is not the option anymore, it becomes extremely grindy there on out, at that point its just a bet to see whether u can keep ur sanity intact, like u had seen how players grind for one stuff for over a few months right, thats what i mean, if u dont have a goal ur gonna go insane

The fact that you are going through the gameplay by yourself is great. I had a friend that tried the game and I bombarded him with a lot of information, which overwhelmed him and did not play again. It is also making me reminisce of how I felt when I first started playing. Keep it up. However there is a but at the end. But yeah. It would have been more difficult without chat. Because, if you notice there are not a lot of indications of what to do or how to do them, yes it is pretty intuitive for a lot of stuff but there are some that are not. Could you have figure it out by yourself? Most likely, but having an interactive encyclopedia (Chat) as you go through stuff it's easing up or speeding up the learning process. AGAIN, I´m not trying to say that this game is difficult or say this game is for GIGABRAINS or nothing of that sort. KEEP UP THE VIDEOS. I REALLY LIKE THEM. P.S. Don't care about what some people say. I read a few comments that were not very nice. Continue as you have been doing so far.

Tip: aways if possible level mods up to an even numbered level, when you put them on a matching polarity the game always rounds up, so with your level 13 spit chamber it cost 7 when you put it in because it rounded the 6.5 up to 7

Ok so I’ll say this the streamer new player experience is 100% different than an actual new player experience, their is absolutely no help on direction or where to go and modding etc…, for instance earlier in the video you asked about baro, got told about multi shot, free cosmetics as insensitives to keep playing, and at any point of confusion you had help, 90% of new players don’t have that experience.

Very very minor correction: affinity gives levels on gear/frames, and those levels grant mastery the first time a given item is leveled. Mastery accumulates to fill the Mastery Rank meter. The difference comes when using forma (the prestige system), the second and subsequent level up’s use affinity, but grant no mastery.

The new player experience varies depending on who ya ask. I think I’m 1500hrs in over the last decade lol. New player experience for me goes on until you complete every single mission on every planet and unlock “Steel Path”. It’s essentially the equivalent of doing grandmaster nightfalls in a sense. Same missions but much harder enemies who scale much higher. I hope you keep going bc I’d love to see ya rocking some steel path with friends/blueberries. And Lua (planet), think you’ll love those maps (tilesets).

To be Specific, Most endless missions pull from one of three loot tables in an ABCC pattern, with the loot on the C table being the rarer, harder to obtain stuff. That's why 20 minutes in survival or 20 waves of defense is a common cutoff point because after the two C pulls it loops back to A.
