I STAYED IN A CASTLE! ROOM TOUR! GENEVA TO LAUSANNE TRAIN | SWITZERLAND SAVED MY LIFE PART 6
Things are about to get very interesting as we depart Geneva to our next destination - Lausanne. In truth I was a bit concerned about the logistics of our luggage and navigating the train station being that we were in unfamiliar territory with such heavy luggage. But a quick uber ride later and we'd arrived at the train station - which was quite easy to navigate - particularly because there were enough English signs that our trek was quite simple. Once we found our platform, all was well.
Our travel agent Kate (@meltedandmoved) booked us first class accomdations for the train which turned out to be perfect for a relaxing trip to Lausanne. In truth, I knew very little about Lausanne but was simply excited to see what the city had to offer,. It's important to note that we were traveling on a Sunday which meant that many of the lcoat shops in the downtown were closed, and we arrrived around 1:30 pm so I was quite shocked, until it hit me - its a day of rest.
Upon arriving in Lausanne, I will admit that we were quite confused on how to exit the train station, and with the heavy luggage we had, the steep incline to exit was a bit strenous. This is coming from someone who works out regularly - however, carrying around nearly 100 lbs of luggage (my suitcase was about 70 lbs alone - not to mention my backpack and duffle bag filled to the brim). We were able to catch a taxi cab from the train station to the hotel. Our rooms weren't quite ready so we had some crisp glasses of champagne while we waited.
Did I mention that we were staying in a castle? A literally castle. On the outside it definitely gave an old world vibe, but on the inside it was modern and chic. Once we got our rooms, it was time to explore. In truth, I captured ALOT of footage on my camera - however, there were rain droplets that had gotten on the lense so the footage doesn't fully capture the beauty of lakeside of Lausanne. I loved meandering around waterfront, the chill in the air, the families out and just revelling in the peace and quiet of the fresh mountain air. We dined on crepes, pastries and delicious coffee. If you're looking for peace and quiet, rest and relaxation - Hotel Chateau D'Ouchy is perfect location as its on the outskirt of town, right on the lake. As always if you have questions about anything in this video please don't hesitates and Ii'll try respond in a future video.
