Lovely job Nathan. I had my first double glazed window pop the other day. A patio door !! £200 down the drain, and I was doing the job voluntarily too. Anyways, peace and love to you brother.

We run hustler trimstar mulching mowers and have done so for the past 7or8 years. Got 4 now, life as is would be a hell of a different without. Well worth a look mate. Looks like a great contract mate. Potential for winter gritting if that is an area you fancy moving to..

Sounds ideal mate, I've been looking at the Ferris Z1 but ideally I want something small that'll leave a tidy finish in domestic lawns. Hope all's good with you 👍
@bobbelsekwol3 ай бұрын
I've had a few mulcher mowers. Stiga 19" with a stainless steel deck was brilliant. Super light, powerful enough and great results. Mountfield was OK but steel deck and grass stuck to it so slowed down progress a bit. John Deere 21" absolute beast. Cuts everything and with its side discharge, spews out everything and never bogs down. Its a few years old and I've only got the slowest gear now, the gearbox sheared off from the frame, but great mower. I've now got a modified mountfield mulcher with a huge motor, Briggs 850 I think, with almost tractor tyres for traction and its great. Doesn't leave particularly clean grass but cuts and gets the job done. So would I have one, oh yes, I've got three! That seems to be a great contract to have. Could do with a few of them. But not Sat mornings though.
@LewisgardenservicesLtd3 ай бұрын
Sounds like you've given a few a good test, not sure whether any are up to replacing boxing the grass up in domestic fortnightly cuts and leaving a good finish but I'm going to try and find out😬😅 cheers 👍
@bobbelsekwol3 ай бұрын
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd definitely not domestic fortnightly. Grass is too long for the mower to chop up and leave. A couple of semi commercial ones are once a month and so mulching is good for them. It leaves grass down but they don't care. Quite a few domestic, weekly ones don't have bins so mulching is fine. And they don't know! During covid when the bins didn't get emptied I nearly did everyone's with the mulcher, hence my near total conversion. Looking at Grin mowers online and they look pretty good but pricey.
@LewisgardenservicesLtd3 ай бұрын
I'm skeptical about fortnight mulching when there is a lot of growth early and later in the season but between than I think I could get away with it on fortnightly cuts. Maybe I'll find out next year 🤞👍😅

Tidy. I had long chat with PSD groundcare at Groundsfest, I believe they are importers of grin which are mulching mowers. I’m interested in the tiny grin which would be ideal between headstones. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone that owns a grin. Serious consideration for next year though.

What would you say is minimum kit needed to start looking for work like this? I've only started up this year part-time alongside my job so my kit is pretty basic so far, but looking to go full time next Spring so I'd like to try and get one or two commercial jobs if possible. Enjoying the channel, I'm only about 20 miles NW of you so its been helpful having a local youtuber to give me the confidence that there is work out there around these parts!

This size contract you could do with an 18" mower easy enough, obviously take longer but as long as it was a regular cut it would do it. Drop me a message and any enquiries I get too far for me but close to you I can send them your way. Cheers 👍 good luck with the business
