😣 We had heard that this was coming a few years ago when we went to the Cenotes for the first time. It is heartbreaking to see it actually taking place. I thought that Car Wash was the first one that was going to disappear, but I was glad to see your video a little while ago showing it's still there.

Extremely sad about the Tren Maya project. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing Cenote Maravilla, I visited 3 weeks ago to do a freediving diving course there and it was nice to see it from a deeper view in your video.

The whole project is absolute madness and it doesn't even make sense. The stations are SO far from the actual destinations, that people will still have to pay for expensive taxis with a gringo price regardless if you're a gringo or not. Look at what's happening with Tulum's new airport (which is not even in Tulum 🤡) The taxi fares from there to anywhere are insane! The whole thing only makes sense when you're talking about mega contracts, mega money and mega corrup tion, but unfortunately it wont benefit neither Mexicans nor tourists. It's devastating seeing how they're destroying such precious nature and getting away with it. I can only imagine the amount of wildlife that has also be kllled in the process 🐅💔

Ugh! It is so frustrating and depressing. But we all still have to keep trying and keep informing people on what's happening.

It is so sad that the Mexican Government didn't take its time to do the project with the ecological protections in place. A very rash decision that will come back to bite them in the bottom.

Living on Cozumel for 15 years, we also have massive decline in reef system due to commercial expansion and pollution into reef. The island was at peak sustainable levels 10 years ago. Now its to the point of no return and general decline of natural resources.
@AzulUnlimited9 ай бұрын
So true! My next video is on my experience in Cozumel. It’s wild how many cruise ships visit…
@BlueWaterCozumel9 ай бұрын
@@AzulUnlimited The cruise ships definately do contribute to a lot of the decline of the island and its resources. The average cruise ship has 4000 passengers and we sometimes get 5 - 8 ships a day. thats 30000 plus people a day on the island and all are using toilet somewhere....a lot of it goes out to the water through the ground.
@BlueWaterCozumel9 ай бұрын
there is a reef called Villablanca just beside the cruise ship piers. It is remarkeably healthy compared to reefs in the marine park. Sadly , there is a 4th cruise ship pier planned for construction (destruction) on the Villablance reef.....
@AzulUnlimited9 ай бұрын
@@BlueWaterCozumel how can they think Cozumel can handle 4 (!) cruise ship piers???? that's insane
@BlueWaterCozumel9 ай бұрын
@@AzulUnlimited money talks....the owners of the ferry company Winjet are heavily involved with the 4th pier. They also own Playa Mia Beach Club which they just partnered with Royal Carribean as a private beach for them. Im thinking they will soon be shuttling people direct from Royal Carribean to the Playa Mia Beach are via Winjet Ferry....taxi union not gonna like that because there goes all their commissions for bringing people to Playa Mia Beach club. Just more pollution that is destructive to the island as a whole.

Sobering video but 100% accurate. Been living and diving in Merida for almost 2 years and seen the damage the greedy government has done and all because the outgoing president wanted it done before he left office. The first ride the president took on trey Maya it broke down and there has already been one derailment that I know of. Tragedy is bound to happen. Thank you for the great video and keep up the good fight. 😢

Tourists aren't using the train anyway. It's more expensive than the bus, the train stations are all a busride from town, so that's 2 bus trips and a train ride.........easier just to catch a bus.

That’s what I heard! So freaking crazy
@javier-pr2jp8 ай бұрын
Anyway...damage its done 😔
@joecabeza62179 ай бұрын
It is heartbreaking and really looks more inevitable than anything at this point…. Even last year when we were there we saw large swaths of forest gone to make room for the train. What’s worse is that the train isn’t near any towns/cities by the ocean, so you can bet once the train is complete, more cenotes and forest will disappear to development….

Exactly. I don’t understand this need for constant growth. What we need are wild places.

Incoherencia total 😔
