I stole a log to make this DIY MODERN STOOL

We transform a garbage log to a custom DIY stool/plant stand/end table with only a few basic tools. This is a continued experiment to see what is possible with found wood. Please be careful and take care of yourself!
Since the log is still so wet, I'm finishing the top of the stool with wax and letting the rest dry naturally.

I love this! a modern looking stool with natural wood such a cool piece. I think it would also look cool with some tinted varnish or something to bring out those lines and the wood swirlies (?the grain?)

Good call going with the metal legs. With treatment you did with the metal you want to showcase the materiel not cover up a portion with more wood. You know less is more sort of thing. The stump with the hole that you son was fascinated with. You could turn that into a one of a kind mailbox.

The reason it was so hard to plane was because first you were going against the grain secondly you used a block plane and thirdly you had divots in the wood so again you have to go with the grain
