People (particularly men) should do some kind of explosive and difficult physical activity that forces the body into unknown postures, improvised movements, awkward feelings of physical discomfort and fear because it's just good for the overall health so stay on the board! Do the reps sometimes, stay creative light and fun the with friends sometimes but as you mature, skating only makes sense if you pay attention to every sensation of fear or pleasure or discomfort or elation etc and aim and work to control those aspects of the activity. That's how you use skateboarding to your advantage in your life as you age and get the most joy out of the activity. Skateboarding is a perfect tool for mindfulness, creativity, learning joy and social play through difficult physical activity. Use it.

Respect the anxiety. Don’t dismiss its power. But then put a plan together on how to respond when that anxiety hits. And I totally get the comfort point. It’s seductive. Try writing yourself notes right after you accomplish something major. Remind yourself what that success felt like. You’ll start chasing it. 🤘
@SeanEnuks6 ай бұрын
I’m trying to become more comfortable with being in that uncomfortable anxious state, the plan is a great idea to tackle those times That’s a rad idea, i think I need to start writing more and not discounting my success no matter how minor or major they may be

Hey bro. Totally understand what you mean. I’ve let myself go and just relaxed too much. At the same time I’ve been super busy and end up drained once the kidos are in bed and there’s some down time before sleeping. I need to spend more time with the kidos and less time on my phone. Gotta keep working on my house so the kidos have all their own rooms and things can continue on and slowly get better. Once the busyness of Reno’s and life slows down things will be easier to spend time on my own hobbies etc. like you said in the vid any content you have is chill. I try to watch when I can. Don’t get caught up in the numbers and just do what you love doing. Drawing tats and skateboarding are all great hobbies/work/careers etc and having a loving partner at home is so great too! Keep slapping those curbs and have fun! Cheers

What you said about the feeling you get being at a park, I recently went skating with a old friend of me who didn't skate for quite some years and he said the same thing and that was the reason he wanted to pick it up again. Just something about the vibe of a skatepark that hits different.
@SeanEnuks6 ай бұрын
It’s just an unmatched feeling, you won’t get that vibe anywhere else, especially when everyone is throwing down and pushing to get their tricks, it’s a feeling of comradery and belonging
@troublingleaf6 ай бұрын
That is true what you said, also it's my problem, I'm just not able to skate everyday anymore. It has ended up being an occasional hobby because my body just can't handle it everyday anymore, too many injuries... Just working on my feet is causing me problems with my foot and ankle... Still that's a drastic improvement over the last 8 years!
@SeanEnuks6 ай бұрын
Oh yea I feel it now man, every day all day would become too hectic on the body, but I feel like a light hour/ 2 hour sesh would be ideal, I have a bad ankle now so it’s usually giving me trouble if I try to push it too hard

I know there was another comment but depending on what material your screen is made from you can get the ink out by submerging it in a decent solvent like acetone, might take a while and will need a bit of encouragement with a stiff brush/toothbrush for the small details but beats getting a new screen made (unless you get them cheaper than the 10 dollars for a tub and the solvent !

I'm worried about getting old, I have no idea what to do in place of skateboarding, if I get to an age where I can't physically do it anymore. Nothing gives me the same joy or feeling as it, at least nothing that I've experienced yet, so part of me wants to find that magic "other thing" I can do so I know when I'm old, or just tired of skateboarding, I can do that instead
@SeanEnuks6 ай бұрын
I feel you there dude, I haven’t really thought that far ahead into it myself, sometimes art sparks that same Magic flame for me, but there’s just something so rewarding that comes from skating and completely gassing yourself out on a trick, the endorphins afterwards are so satisfying

Try cleaning your screen with mineral spirits. Wear gloves, and do it somewhere ventilated but you should be able to clean that out of there. Did you flood the screen after every print to keep the image area wet?
@SeanEnuks6 ай бұрын
I’ll give it a crack! I flooded the screen before each print but not after… I found it hard to gauge how much ink to lay down in the screen, still getting the hang of printing on a hard surface, printing on fabric is so much easier lol
