Interesting take on what the lower follower accounts are doing. I do think the niche someone is in will also have a large impact. For example, if your X profile is about making money, or growing your X followers, health and fitness related, etc, are popular. For myself, I design and sell WordPress themes--very difficult to find where your potential followers are. I've tried several ways, but the one thing that I would love to see you do for a video topic on KZbin is comparing the effectiveness/engagement of Long-form vs Theads.

@@CCAnne Its so tiring bashing your head against Twitters algorithm. At this point so tempted to do bait posts, since my unique posts I post barely get any views likes or replies. Perhaps bait posts would do better, I'd have to die inside every time i post generic bait posts though. However if that's what X prefer I guess there is little choice in the matter. You can reply to posts all you want you'll be lucky to get 1 follower every couple of weeks and even that one usually is gfx artist who has "commissions open" in their bio. After not getting DM for couple days they unfollow and back there you been couple weeks ago in terms of followers...

Great video. Since March this year I have been following all advice and my account has gone from 10,000 to 20,000 followers! However I seem to get gridlocked around the 20,000 follower mark. Any advice to break through? 6:55

Appreciate it. How long have you been at 20k? they are doing a lot of changes at the moment and so i'd keep doing what you are doing and see if it changes in the next week or so. people are saying its been picking up. Might be time for a reasses though if that isnt working. Trying out stuff or ads or joining a community to try and see if you can reach an audience outside of your niche.

I'm lightly active on twitter, but I'm getting followers who are obviously all bot or fake accounts. If my limited interaction is getting me bot followers, it would seem to follow that a large portion of many of the follower numbers on X are bots.

I get a lot of bot/spam follows for graphic design. I got fed up with it earlier today and ended up wiping almost 2/3rds of my follower count it has gotten so bad lately. Is it better for me to just ignore the follows or should I be blocking them to keep my core followers actual people?

I wouldn't block them. Twitter/X is going to remove that feature anyway. I would mute them if they're really bothersome. Otherwise, just ignore. Don't interact with them.

@@Hypefury I was all excited to have hit 75 followers earlier today till I noticed 9 of my last 10 were the bot/spam accounts , got fed up with it, and removed a bunch of those accounts from my follower list. I went to KZbin to figure out what I was doing wrong to not attract genuine followers and found you. I’m armed with new advice and will hopefully back to 75 and beyond soon! What I have learned is, that people who have the so-called answer about how to grow your account, don't have a following. The main thing that people are doing to grow their accounts fast is buying fake retweets, likes, and comments. This is because society is more visual. People will respond to posts that already have a lot of comments, likes, and retweets.

That was happening to me for the first two years of posting . I think engagement with other people interacting with your posts is a way to boost your algorithm. Comments and reshares are also a lot more valuable than likes to the algorithm . Goodluck !
