HS Music Teacher here. I assigned the "play whatever you want and submit the video" assignment too. It's the first one for the year. The purpose has nothing to do with the playing, it's about making sure the kids know how to take video and upload it. You'd be amazed how many of these media-obsessed weekend-warrior twitch streamers will come in on monday and claim that uploading a video was too complicated. Gotta start by going over the basics (click the upload button...not that hard...) EDIT: And for the record (you said to call you out if you didn't follow the instructions)...you probably didn't do this assignment correctly if you just emailed them the video. That's exactly what I don't want my students to do.
@RainbowDemon4 жыл бұрын
Is it still wrong if the video was uploaded to youtube, just unlisted and they sent a link of the unlisted video in the email? Thus showing the prowess of not only knowing how to edit and upload but change to unlisted?
@SirJarlsburg4 жыл бұрын
@@RainbowDemon Depends on the class. Sometimes that's exactly what I want them to do. But attaching it to an assignment in Google Classroom is a different process, and allows for different things. If the assignment is to upload it to google classroom and you upload it to youtube...then yeah, that would be the wrong way to do the assignment.
@RainbowDemon4 жыл бұрын
Skeptic Wolf ummmm... what is google classroom?
@SirJarlsburg4 жыл бұрын
@@RainbowDemon Haha, yeah that's probably not obvious if you haven't been in school during this whole pandemic thing. Google classroom is a digital class organization tool that pretty much every school is using. Kids log into it with their school emails, and all the assignments/instructions/resources get posted there. Then they can "turn in" assignments by uploading their work into the system. Without some kind of system like that, you'd have hundreds of students just trying to attach assignments to emails or whatever and it'd be a massive mess. Google Classroom has been around for years, some teachers (myself included) were using it long before Covid. But basically everyone is using it now because it's the best way to do any kind of distance learning.

Back in high school, I was in the front ensemble but the front ensemble and the battery would do their exercises together. While we were doing scales or something like that The people on snares and bass drums were doing the accent tap but instead of the flams it was just a regular accent it would move from one to e and so on. My senior year, I decided to challenge myself and see if I could get on one of the bases. My teacher said he thinks I would do better on cannon. Before the game started we would do track marching in my first time around it was difficult but, I ended up being able to do it. I have only heard of two other people with visual impairments marching while playing a drum. I’m pretty sure there are more people doing it now but the reason I was put on front ensemble first was because it would be more easier and reasonable for me.
