well there is a book it is the same book you need to do spells. Might want to follow the start of the quest chain which starts with the book. The main issue with the island was that you did not have nearly enough source to create the large radius. You will need about 4 full jars i think for the largest island.

@@foxynotail yes i saw that at 7%. not enough for the next tick though. at least that has been my experience. I am not saying that is the definitive answer i said i think. I could be wrong. I just know using Ars Nouvea in ATM 9 TTS so get several islands I usually needed 4 full. As for the extensions of the island radius. i actually have no used those as the default in ATM9 was plenty large. The one in the ftb skies not so much is appears. i would need to load in an ars book in the mod to see what is says about the island radius to tell you definitively. Part of mod packs though is figuring it out. Keep up the good work! enjoyable to watch and now that you know you can plan on multiple islands or figure out the radius thing and bingo easy islands.

@@foxynotail hmm ftb skies expert is the same just with slightly harder recipes and it said you should have had at default radius 7. My only suggestion is to have a whole lot more source as I do not think the ritual was actually complete. I think it stopped early due to a lack of source. This is my suggestion, so please take with a grain of salt. Also, please do not think I am criticizing you; just trying to help out. Hopefully you do not give up on Ars as it is a really good mod. There is plenty more to explore.

The island was small because you used the plains biome one. You have to change the biome and customize it to make it bigger. I don't remember how to do that since it's been a while since I played with ars, but I do remember doing that before. You'll have to look through the worn notebook (the ars manual) for instructions. I think most of the ars islands you can summon are small though, and I don't remember them being bigger than the one you guys have the schematic for, so I'd suggest summoning a bunch of them right next to eachother to make a big one. Once you have the infrastructure set up to quickly make more island tablets and source, you can summon ten of those way faster than you can cannon in one of your schematic islands.

the easiest way to make island with ars is: 1. Make source(you need for example crops farm with the agronomical sourcelink on top surouded with source jars); 2. craft a conjure island tablet(if you use for example blazing you will get like a 18 buckets of lava); 3. use the tablet on ritual brazier(make sure you have source)

So, to augment the ritual with Source Gems, you don't put them on nearby pedestals, but toss them into the brazier itself

sorry to say but, from what I can find on the wiki you preformed the ritual wrong. the ritual brazier ignored the source gem on the pedestals so it made the default 7x7 island, to actually use source gems to augment the ritual you needed to right click them on the Brazier after placing the Ritual tablet, then right click the Brazier with an empty hand to activate the ritual. also I would recommend making a Volcanic Sourcelink as a Quick way to generate source to power the ritual

This - augmenting is done during the "awaiting activation" phase, not from surrounding the brazier with pedestals.

Since I didn't see anyone say how to actually make the island bigger. You don't surround the ritual with source gems on pedestals. You need to click the source gems on to the ritual before it starts running. That is how you augment it. It's the same with summoning the wilden boss. If you use the wilden summoning ritual with out out clicking a wing, tooth, and horn on the ritual it will just summon several wilden of various types. If you put the ritual in, and then augment it with a wing, a tooth, and a horn you will instead summon the boss. Same goes for the island. If you wanna augment it to make it bigger, you need to put in the island summon ritual, and before it starts running click it with the source gems to augment it's size. Also, the guide book is called The Worn Notebook, several people mentioned it was the first thing in the line of quests, but no one actually said what it was called. Really, it is a little confusing because the name doesn't imply that it's from Ars, and the the spell books, and the worn notebook are two different things.

First off, read the Worn Notebook (the Ars manual). You dove into the deep end of this and expected to swim with this. In the Ars quest progression the first quest you had should give you the manual you need.

The island was only small because you augmented the ritual incorrectly. You dont augment fituals by putting items on pedestals. You augment rituals by dropping / right clicking the items onto the hrazier. You do this after right clicking the ritual item onto the brazier but before right clicking the hrazier again to activate the ritual. The book explains how to augnent rituals. Its in the quest book as a reward. And its called lost notebook if you wanted to craft one yourself.

New video new hints.... I prefer schematic cannon Islands top ars ones... By the way that's not a hint... Okay hint 1: listen to my previous hints and you'll gain new knowledge... Also are does have a handy spell book that you can use with a scribe table to make spells like Magelight or others... You can also make an angel block dirt/rock spell... Okay hint 2: toss gold nuggets at starbunkles to start the path to use them to do things.... And the bonus hint: some of the other ritual islands are bigger and give biomes... Like the cascading ritual for an ocean island

Hehe! I love this episode. Let me really poke fun at the sorcerer's apprentices: From Ars nouveau, the wood is the best if you want to recreate grandma's living room from the 70s. I call them Wallpaper trees. And all the gold glitter sparkle stuff is useful if you like to build the castle of a three-year-old mad princess. I dislike all the magic stuff. I have reasons for that. Read pages and pages of instructions and follow each step closely. Stupid reeling off of stupid "cult acts". No mental performance required. No creativity. Everything exactly as prefabricated.

oh, in terms of the _type_ of island you'd generate, and how interesting it is... yeah, the Ars Nouveau method actually is a little dull, even when it's large. generally speaking, based on the last time I played the modpack, generally using RFTools and Cyclic to make weirdly shaped islands was the way to go for me. made one shaped like a fishbowl and filled it with tropical fish. was great. then I filled it with axolotls. that was a mistake.

Your island isn’t DONE!!! you need a full bottle of source!!!! There are different island types as well in ars which are different tablets. The size of the islands if I was to guess is 3/4 of the size of the schematic one you guys build but that’s just a guess. But the size is wwwwway bigger than what you got because you ran out of source. One jar at 100% is required not multiples with little

The wiki literally says the islands from ars are a 7 block radius which mine is. I had source left over once the ritual finished

@@foxynotail In order to augment the ritual as the wiki says, you needed to right-click the source gems onto the ritual brazier AFTER placing the ritual onto it, but BEFORE activating it; placing them on the pedestals did nothing, so you got the unaugmented version. EDIT: To clarify, you need to right-click the items to augment a ritual onto the brazier when the status says "awaiting activation".
