Addicted. Totally. Have 7 of them. Still using them for matches and even coaching. No better racket for someone who grew up playing with wood. Feel/sweet spot superb, when you can hit it. You’d better be a 4.5 plus level to win with this stick. No other Pro Staff matches this baby in the right hands.

I have the last Chinese batch original ps85. Absolute gem of a tennis racquet. I still use it on and off. Just for fun.

Maybe 5 to 10 years ago, you could regularly find the original version of the PS85 in thrift stores for almost nothing. Most were well used but sometimes a "creampuff" would show up. Unfortunately, it's rare now to find anything decent. Oddly, no matter how worn the PS85's were, with a new grip and re-string, they played great.

they would break quite easily though with that thin beam. I have had quite a few of them break

Got a excellent condition 85 for $3 at thrift store. Couldn't wait to get home to lead it & string it with the stringalings like sampras

@@youngsuit How? anger?, mishit? I don't recall Sampras, for example, breaking a racquet and he hit the ball HARD.

i hit with this racquet last night. such a fun racquet to hit with. just make to make sure your feet are moving and you're in position. watch the ball and it's a great racquet. get lazy and it's shank town.

I used to play with my Wilson Pro Staff Mid Plus back in 1990, good to see them still around. By the way, Coach Rob is kind of cute !

Coach Rob uses his arms more to generate power than rotating his body into the ball.

Well that racket has been available on TW for about 4 months. And natural gut would be the string to use not the new tech strings that assist to keep the ball on play, that’s a racket the coach could play with but I would not recommend anyone play that that has been used to the new rackets and strings they will walk off the court. That’s when tennis was tennis even before that racket as well. We need to repatriate all our mfg back and get rid of the morons who outsourced our mfg base. Made in America Harry, don’t forget made in America. In China you would be locked in your apartment.

Beautiful racquet. When you have time to set up your shot, there's no better racquet in the world. The only drawback is the lack of free power when you get in trouble in a rally.
