I know how you feel about fall starting earlier and earlier. I used to work retail at a small hardware store. It felt so wrong to be putting road salt, shovels, and snow blowers out during the hellishly hot days of August...and putting out BBQs, grass seed and fertilizer, and lawn chairs during a blizzard in February. Where I am in Canada (Southern Ontario), it can be hot until the end of September, and still snowing in March. And yet, finding summer items is almost impossible to find in brick and mortar stores. Retail rules say, put that stuu on sale and clear it out by August in order to make room for the fall/winter stock. Same for the winter items...get rid of them by February. Which is crazy. I remember a few bad snowstorms in Feb and March, and there was no road salt to be found. People were buying anything they could find... extremely expensive ice melters, cat litter, sand, even table salt. I understand that people want to buy items ahead of when they're going to need them, but during any given season, I should be able to buy things I need for that season.

I’m a candle and wax melt wh*re too and I succumbed to the customer appreciation days flash sale of candles too but I ordered online. 10 off 30 so it paid for shipping with 4 $ to spare, and used two rewards for free items. Leaves will always be a fall classic for me. Also yankee autumn leaves. The juniper berry note in that is divine. I know what u mean about the nasty after smell of PPW. Almost like a stale house with closed windows and garbage or a fry skillet or something. I could talk candles all day. I do love BBW pumpkin cream or whatever they repackage it as every year. It’s the best crust note of a pumpkin pie ever.

I also wanted to mention a blog called Life Inside the Page. I think the person may be some kind of BBW insider but she has had this for over 10 yrs and will put up all the releases for the floor sets and when they release. What scents are going to be in the semi annual sales and candle day, and all the upcoming sales each month. It helps me plan for everything. I use the soaps exclusively. Just thought I would mention It because it is a great reference for me so I don’t miss sales; and no, I never purchase anything u less it is a sale from there.

I'm mad about the Leaves candle. They changed it a few years back. It never used to have the clove spice in it and was my favorite candle. It was woodsy and citrusy and now all I smell is apple cinnamon.

Jordy, I live in MA about 30 miles north of Boston, right on the NH border. Drove to NYC for the first time this past June. It took us about 4.5 hours and we hit no traffic both ways. The drive through CT on the Merritt Parkway was quite nice actually. My friend is actually heading back down to NYC tomorrow morning for the weekend and will be driving the same route again. It’s not bad at all honestly.

Jordy, check out Goose Creek candles. They have amazing scents, no weird after smell/burnt smell, and burn nicely. Their jars are aesthetic as well. WAY better than bath & body works candles hands down...if you're into wax melts, theirs are awesome as well

So, several years ago I started having issues with all of my smoke detectors randomly going off. I have 9 of them in my home, 2 of which are combo style detectors that include radon sensors as well. Ultimately, after calling an electrician, I had to have all them replaced-and it was because of soot from burning candles. The electrician I worked with said he sees this a lot, and he always tries to caution people to not burn candles, except on special occasions. Replacing them all was expensive as hell. So yeah-no more candles in my house.

Boston to New York City is approximately a 4 Hour drive. Your best bet is to take Amtrak the north east car door, which can take between three and five hours depending on which train you take. It’s much easier than fly because Penn Station is on the west side of Manhattan and you can go right into downtown South Station, Boston. However, it’s not a bad drive right up I-95.
