SCP-049 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Plague Doctor.
SCP 049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor. While SCP049 appears to be wearing the thick robes and the ceramic mask indicative of that profession, the garments instead seem to have grown out of SCP-049's body over time, and are now nearly indistinguishable from whatever form is beneath them.
SCP-049 will become hostile with individuals it sees as being affected by the Pestilence, often having to be restrained should it encounter such.
SCP-049-2 instances are reanimated corpses that have been operated on by SCP-049.

The Plague Doctor is one of the most level minded scps and I'm surprised he hasn't been used to do work for the foundation. Although "Curing the pestilence" as he calls it may be his main goal, he seems to rather enjoy other scientific work. Is there truly no way that he could help the foundation?

I think a big issue is that the fundation already played their cards with him wrong. Even if they started to treat him better, I doubt he would want to cooperate with them if he does not believe to get closer to his goal from it... Something the Fundation well demonstrated they have no interest in letting happen.

In regards to that, he may perceive foundation personnel, whether that be researchers, agents, or security guards, as having the pestilence, kill them, then turn them into zombies, which would inevitable cause some problems.

he has! in a scenario in which death is no more, scp-049 fell into depression after the 'main ingredient of his cure' stopped working (death, although he won't admit it). This led to his assigned psychiatrist to suggest moving him to work in the med bay so he could feel a sense of purpose. That sort of worked too. So although it's not the 'canon' setting, the foundation isn't all against him!

Classes are not determined by how dangerous an SCP is, but rather by how hard it is to contain, an example is 096 being Euclid, closer to safe than keter really, because it is not known how kany picture of it are in the world

if i remember this correctly although the new cannon might've changed this but it was stated that 049 can shake people's hands and can touch others without killing them and this is because his attire is actually his skin an his mask is his face. so what he does to kill something is he secretes a substance from his skin (probably some sort of toxin that enters the blood flow thru skin contact) and that stops the living beings heart. but he only uses the toxin on those who he perceives as a threat, those he sees as being inflicted with the pestilence, or to those that are his patients.

Foundational breaches are intentional----- Due to the fact that the foundation does not rely on automatic backup generators, multiple path wiring layouts, or the simplest of all cell doors that don't automatically become useless the moment they no longer have power... Ie; any other physical design to make the doors as secure as the walls at very least... This of course would prevent most common SCP from escaping, leaving only the technologically trapped ones able to breach.... For this reason and this reason alone it is obvious that breaches are in actuality designed to occur. Perhaps by those higher up on the totem, looking to experiment with foundational sites and staff. That or writers have no choice but to write in these painful flaws, simply for the sake of keeping the story going. I'd prefer the former rather than the latter.

a year late but its been confirmed already that bullets have no effect on him, the foundation had already attempted to shoot him on occasions and the bullets while they made contact they didnt cause him bodily harm which is why they sedate him with sleeping agents because that works to neutralize him. 049 is not a murderer tho he doesn't kill with the intent to do harm or receive a twisted pleasure, he only kills out of self defense or self preservation if he feels threatened, or if he is under alot of agitation. only in the Doctor Hamm incident did he murder someone but afterwards he was remorseful an felt guilty over what he had done.

Another thing dr bright is not allowed to do at the foundation Researchers are reminded not to eat his lunch. While most researchers eat cafeteria food dr bright brings food from home. His lunch was a home made pizza slice a bag of red sun chips a cherry Pepsi and a Klondike bar. When the other researchers found out they would steal his lunch as a way to punish him. After a while of being annoyed he started making his lunch from things from scps pizza would be made from scp 682 4158 504 and 2867 the chips were still normal but he got the Pepsi and ice cream from scp 5962 while he had the real thing The lunch caused multiple cases of food poisoning and death but dr bright found out who’s been eating his lunch Dr bright is not allowed to play garbage basket ball it all started when he was too lazy to get up and throw something away and threw it into a nearby garbage bin after that dr clef threw something then dr gears and dr crow and they moved around in their swivel chairs and started a contest. After a while other scps such as 073 2094 and 507 joined in after a while scp 2094 fell down a flight of stairs and landed in a group of class d transporting scp 173 causing it to snap the neck one of the class d and 2094 had to eat 173 to stop him since it wasn’t dr bright that fell down the stairs he wasn’t in any trouble but they did ban garbage basket ball contests while scps were being moved Dr bright is allowed to use scp 3922 for entertainment purposes it all started when scp 682 breached containment while dr bright was transporting scp 3922 and thinking it was him they locked him in his office with 3922 with nothing to do he watched movies while having 3922 near his computer and this is what happened In the movie babe the wolves are destroyed before the sheep is killed in such a bad way when they showed scp 076-2 the footage he said holy sh*t When played next to knock knock bel and genesis are both killed by a group of deceased actors dressed as cops (Clark able, Verne trouser, and Elvis) when put with tusk Howard is killed before turning Walter into a walrus when put next to mr osomatsu s2 e11 chibita is also killed by deceased celebrities in cop uniforms (Jim Henson, Kurt Cobain)
