Another source of cocoon silk(this is newer so it probably wasn't in your guide) is taming spiders. They produce the coccoon silk automatically in their inventories!

Something I noticed on single player servers(for me anyway) is that your settings could be relatively tame but it’ll seem like your settings were supercharged or something. Like one level in health for my dinos increased it by a lot despite the fact that the health increase per level and the affinity is at the standard setting. For reference I play on Xbox so I don’t know if this is a Microsoft Ark thing only.

just in case you dont know, you can keybind gamma at a high and low setting for night/day. i do 2 and 5, and activate them with page up/down buttons. itll help a little with your transitions in videos as well

imho, there's no issue with spawning in the artifacts if you go to where they're supposed to be and they don't spawn.
