Thank you for making this in depth insight into daily life in Kyiv, with such sensitivity and heartfelt feeling, Johnny, thank you so much. It *needs* to be seen by as many as possible, just for a taste of what some fools call "normal" life in Ukraine!!! It is the reality of living in Ukraine right now and we none of us should look away. My heart so feels for the soldiers who are on all levels in this horrific war. I'm next generation but my Dad was in his own war, and I, as many do, grew up with the fallout from what he went through in battle. It's strange how some stuff passes down to us that we simply don't understand until we are adults... Seeing this I remember as a child being pushed down onto the floor by Dad, if there were sudden loud/close thunderclaps. Your video here made me feel Dad's trauma a little, but on the frontlines, you can imagine, this is magnified and constant. My prayers are with Ukraine, always, and with the soldiers who are *all* defending everyone in Ukraine. I pray for the calmness to never leave any of you there. Yes, I agree with those amazing people and join in their message to putin and his russia! I know my late father would totally agree and some!!! @exposcotland2922 More weapons stopped Russian soldiers from advancing. Maybe you didn't know but to stop the invader you need force. Please do not share the air defense positions online. It forces them to constantly change their location. Even several days after an attack, it is not recommended to do so. Do not stand near a window during an attack - even if the explosion is not very close, you can be injured by the shockwave and shattered glass. And stay safe! Today or tomorrow, within the next few days for sure, another massive attack is predicted, possibly a combined one with rockets and drones. Take care!

That’s essentially what NATO/OTAN has done against Putin and the Russian people. This could’ve been avoided thru reason and logic and yet morons will always be morons. In 2014 something happened with their “elections” allowing a power shift right? Also anyone that can look into the AZOV battalion can show you they’re race ists and nationalists. Why does the AZOV hold more than half the military power? That would be equivalent to the K K K being more than half of the US military. Putin has said he is chasing out the Notsees (misspells intentional) and the AZOV is full of them. It’s amazing to watch the propaganda work before my very eyes.

Seeing you walk up those stairs, not run, or even hurry, but walk calmly, then pause, and wait for that older woman, which clearly reassured her, all during an attack was remarkable. You are an excellent man Johnny, and I think that was exemplary. You have my respect and love all the more for it. On another darker note... A man rented and drove a U-Haul down a block I walk down every day here in Brooklyn, NY a few months back and killed someone, paralyzed another, and injured half a dozen more... Choosing to live your life, even in the face of death, as long as you are free is incredibly virtuous, it makes you truly brave, and "based af", as the kids these days would say. However, it also is as I understand your position incredibly privileged, and that man struck in that deadly van attack had a family of four... you can be unlucky anywhere, but we also make our own luck sometimes too, especially concerning foxholes, and I respect you for choosing to stay and what consequences come with that decision. Some people were so outraged by the jokes about the Russian who was eaten by a shark, although perhaps if this Russian had something to feel sorry for, he would be sitting in Russia and defending his rights first at the first place, and not frying his ass under the sun in Egypt. You couldn’t have made this vlog any better considering the circumstances Johnny! Glad you talked to people and that they shared their thoughts and opinions regarding the situation with you (and by default us). Be good and stay alert! 😊

Much respect you still there at your hometown and try to cope, even if I would understand if you left because unsafety too. Is very few western civilian vloggers that really has Ukraine as base and you are there to share this major events, side by the Ukrainians and your home is there now, you are invested in this. We pray for this to stop, I feel shame that the west governments is not doing more 😢

@JohnnyFD I recommend you to put a disclaimer of a recorded sound when you insert "air raid siren" into your videos. As an Israeli (don't politics at me, it's not the point), we do this in every news report or even tv series if there is a recorded sound of the siren so we will know it's not a real one. Cause that siren in the beginning made my heart skip a bit. So I can imagine Ukrainians will have the same feeling if they will watch this video.

Ukrainians are used to it. The sound is so others around the world can feel for a second what they feel everyday.

Bro I live in a small Nebraskan town with the nearest Walmart 50 miles away. About the only danger here is being caught up in a combine or getting gored by an elk.

russians: launches hypersonic missiles "that nobody can intercept" Ukrainians: modifying Patriots that they can intercept that missiles with 100% rate. I love my country's air defence. They saving lives every day.

I live in Turkey. As I was watching you at minute 9,there was an earthquake at 9.48 June 29th in Bursa city with a nasty sound coming from the ground while I was home. It took about 14 minutes for records to show it and interestingly the epicenter was 4 km from me. It was a nasty freaking sound with 3.1 scale. Now I'm kinda frozen not knowing what to do. Ukrainian people are experiencing similar things but much worse on daily basis. Slava to Ukraine
