SEAN!!! R U F#(KN CRAZY!!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??!!! YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!! Ok, for those who watch this video... Ive seen this boat 1st hand and it is as small as it looks!! Sean, pls for the love of all things that fly, just take them to that point on Moloka'i. Don't risk that channel again. Although i have to say i do feel a little bad as well because you did ask me if you should take them there and i said any experience the birds can get is a good thing, i also forgot how treacherous that channel is. Again, for the benefit of those that dont know, the water is almost always like that because the wind gets funneled between the islands so is always blowing hard. I must say Sean, this years team looks way better than last years does. Pretty much all the way around. Looking forward to your future vids.

The most interesting and best video on pigeon toss I’ve ever seen. Sean, took it to the extreme. I would loved the ride out. Even it was a little bumpy ride going out. And yes, why did you do it again. It seems it was a little risky trying to steer your 14 footer ( you need a bigger boat next time ) adjusting your camera and of course trying to carry and handle your bird case. Almost went overboard . All at once. Great video and info once again. Look forward on the Molokai toss. Hopefully they will do well. On GPS tracking birds seems to follow same path as previous tosses. On 54 birds release did you have some old birds accompanying YB's.
@alohapigeons9440
@alohapigeons9440 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Out of the 54 released today, 2 were old birds. Bigger boat for sure. Time is ticking away and I need to get the birds to Molokai so I kind of rushed this training when I had time off from work. I canceled the Molokai training tomorrow because I was advised it would be better to wait until the military rim pac training concludes this Thursday. So maybe Molokai toss later this week.

I would like to see the route they take from some of the other islands. Hope you can put the GPS tracking bands on for tomorrow! Keep up the good work. How is the conditioning going with the trapping ques? Have you noticed quicker entry into the loft? Thanks, Dan

I had to cancel the first release from Molokai a few days ago but tomorrow we are back on. I have heard there have been a lot of losses this year for those that have just gone to Molokai. The birds are trapping wonderfully now so that should not be a problem on race day. I will have a GPS tracking band on one old bird and one young bird tomorrow so assuming they make it home I will include the data in the next video. Aloha, Sean

How's it going hope every thing is fine. Just was thinking about this crazy idea. Most flyers would be training on a land line. I wanted to give birds a little more. Give them more sight and smell of the ocean, land and know where West is. Release areas would be Lagoon drive, Magic island point, Hawaii Kai boat harbor and Sandy beach later in the afternoon maybe 4:30 - 5:00 pm. Maybe too a good motivation factor. Hopefully they would sense the ocean and not get to shell shocked. When there released from the neighbor islands.

Have fun doing Molokai fly. Lots of losses now that is a concern. I'd hope before one would try Molokai fly. Birds should be in some flying condition and have milage under there wings, before one attempts to fly that route.

7:00am flight to Molokai tomorrow! I'm nervous. Could lose all of my birds. Birds are in better shape this year than last year so hopefully that means they will do okay.

Tingrui Guo Do you race birds in Taiwan. Very tough races to compete in. Need to qualify and qualify and finally real race. Rain and stormy weather you folks fly birds. Must have a lot of good birds that don't make it. Maybe should be there at sea plucking birds out of the ocean.
