In today's video, I am swapping books with my husband for a week! My husband loves grim dark, epic fantasy, and horror while I love epic fantasy as well but I also love romance and thrillers! We are having SO much fun watching your videos. You two are like young versions of Marie and I. We BOTH love to read books (300+ each per year), and we love to talk and discuss the books we read to each other. Your shared enjoyment of these books is so fun to watch. It makes us happy. Marie bought me The Storied Life of A.J. Firky YEARS ago (along with Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and Tomorrow), but I haven't read either of them. Hearing your thoughts in this video and Ian's in a previous video (later in time), makes me want to pick it up and read it NOW. Need to wait, I'm currently swamped at the moment. Already read nine books in the first eleven days of August...and currently reading two more books, and have eight eArcs, sitting in the wings to read. The reading life is the best life. I have Malice, but I need to carve out some time, for I want to binge all four books...back to back to back to back. I have heard so many GREAT things about this author and this series, in general. Watching your reactions and how much you loved this book...makes me want to pick it (soon). Real soon. Hmmm. Dark Matter is AMAZING - 5 Star read. You now have to read Recursion. I read them back to back. DM is better, but Recursion is a 4 Star book...and it is so good. Thank you for all that the two of you are doing. We are reading, and watching your videos. Gwynne improves with each book that he published The 2nd series is still multi POV but with smaller cast of characters & his current series is even better I love his take on the chosen one trope in F&F series

This was so much fun to watch, as always! 💛 You and Ian are always so sweet to watch, and the books he gave you looked really great! I really appreciate how honest you are - especially during Malice. I've been wanting to jump into more fantasy books, but there's always a worry in the back of my head that I'm not going to be "smart enough" to fully understand and enjoy it. It was really cool to see you push past the hard part of Malice and really fall in love with it. I'm definitely going to be adding it to my tbr - along with Dark Matter and The Storied Life of A. J. I have just finished The Stories Life of AJ Fikrey and the audiobook is amazing for me it was a 5 ⭐️read as it’s also an adaptation of the classic Silas Marner by George Eliot. I am now starting The Hazel Wood audiobook ‼️💯😅😊

The Faithful and the Fallen is in my top 3 fantasy series of all time. And in my opinion each book gets better and better, with Wrath being my favorite in the series.

If guys ever do manga here’s some ideas For you 1. Shaman king 2. Case closed 3. Dragon ball 4. Prince of tennis (I’d say two or three volumes of each series depending on how fast you read .) Your husband. 1. Fruits basket 2. Samurai deeper kyo 3. Eye shield 21 4. Sherlock bones . Hope you like the idea maybe you could do this in two parts where your trade mangas

Your guys’ copy of Malice looks bigger than mine and I was just wondering what different printers and publishers add. My copy is 640 pages, but there’s one that’s almost 700 pages.

Malice it sounded you really liked was ur score based of how long it was or lack of female in it and do you plan to read the others some day. Curious cause I have the series as well and haven’t started it yet. Book 1 I definitely need to get loved ur take on it was like u were lost of words and I do own Dark Matter and definitely need to read you got me all excited for it. I'm currently writing 5 different genres and here's a glimpse of what happens to one of my characters that I designed myself. My character is stuck in a Playlist of songs. Every time a new song plays , a new world appears. I'd like to know both of your thoughts on it? I have just finished listening to The Storied Life of AJ Fikrey and it’s a 5 ⭐️ read‼️ I also feel like I read a classic because it’s a modern adaptation of the classic Silas Marner by George Eliot. I was listening to Malice and I got 32% of the book and I had to dnf it because I just couldn’t focus on it and 26 chapters and I don’t know what I had read. I might need to get the actual book or just get it on audible so that I can take my time with it because my library had a waitlist and I felt rushed in trying to get through it. Malice is the weakest book in the faithful and the fallen series it gets better with the sequel i have read all the books in the series and the spinoff series 😊

IT’S IAN AND ASHLYNN TIME!! And you absolutely need to read The Only One Left together! Add that as another idea for that romance TBR prompt I gave you last week. Not only that but it’d be cool to see you “buddy” read together at times. Lmao at the “magic” quip at Dark Matter. If you loved that Storied Life book, try “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrick Bachman. It’s long the same lines. So cute and moving. Also, read “Mistborn.” There’s a reason it’s picked as an intro into adult fantasy. Tons of characters, excellent magic, politics and it’s not overwhelming. The whole trilogy is chef’s kiss. I wanna do a buddy read with you guys too.
