If you all have followed the series on this craftsman dyt4000, you know it needed a camshaft in the old engine. In the last installment I found a donor mower that had the engine setup that I needed. In this video I will cover what needed to be done to get the engine swapped, and get this riding mower running again.

Wow my friend you got yourself a really nice looking tractor. I love the older tractors. I have and still use for my lawn a 1990 Dynamark I restored it and it runs FANTASTIC. Its got the 12.5hp Tecumseh engine and 5 speed trans. I take super good care of it. In my opinion id much rather have a geared trans and a lever to engage the deck. You did a hella good job on this unit. Keep up the great work

That’s awesome! I’m right there with you. I would much rather have manual trans and deck engagement. Usually built better and lasts longer. I bet that dynamark is a fantastic machine. Thank you so much for the support 🤘😎

@@freedommowers420 it is, runs and cut like it's brand new. The only problem I have is finding parts for it. Its so hard to find parts and when I finally do... It's crazy expensive. But the way I look at it I put alot of time and work into her. She does reward me by running and cutting a perfect acre and ahalf

Yea I’m glad I had the other mower with the bracket for the PTO or I would have had to purchase that part. This machine has been a pain to get ready to sell, but I did learn a lot. Thanks so much for the support John 😎🤘

That mower is super nice! I've done the opposite swap before which is easy with the donor engine harness but the electric PTO does complicate it a little. Nicely done!

Thanks Casey. I’m just glad I had the donor tractor with all the parts for the PTO. swap only took about an hour to do everything which was nice. Hoping to get a fair price on this mower. It needed a lot of repairs.

Thats now a nice machine Alex! I love red tractors and that ones nice . I still want to flip a tractor, but in my area they are just a POS and they want $200. I want a LT1000 or something like that. 💲💲👍🇺🇸Roger

Thank you Roger! I think this one’s turned out pretty good after all this time. It’s the same here. People are selling non running junkers around here for $250. It’s a crazy market right now. I’m having a hard time finding mowers. I hope you can find one though and have some fun.

So I have a 20 horse craftsman single engine, wondering if I could go to a 25 horse twin cylinder engine are the mounting bolts, a complication?, as well as the muffler system be changed out?
@freedommowers420
@freedommowers420 7 ай бұрын
Yes you can do the swap. Things to consider are exhaust, throttle cable, crankshaft size for the pulley, and engine wiring harness. The mounting holes should be good to go.
@streetbobheaven4068
@streetbobheaven4068 7 ай бұрын
Sounds good, my shaft is a 1 inch x 3 5/32. The biggest issue is the exhaust and maybe the cable. Certainly the exhaust will have to be modified because I’m going from a single engine to a twin engine.
@streetbobheaven4068
@streetbobheaven4068 7 ай бұрын
@@freedommowers420 Also, have you done an exhaust modification before ? Or just kept original motors the same on swaps?
@freedommowers420
@freedommowers420 7 ай бұрын
@@streetbobheaven4068 yes I have some some exhaust fabrication. Usually that’s the biggest issue I run into as well. It’s not terribly difficult, just time consuming to cut and weld it up.

BRO!!!! SOS!!!!!! I need help I got a mtd riding mower that had engine swapped!!! I need help!! I changed all belts and it starts and runs I got belt for deck and it won’t start!!!!! Only with deck on?!?!? I need help and input bad this is my first riding mower but I’m a self proclaimed mechanic so I understand most of it. Problem is I don’t know much about how everything sat before engine swap and it seems deck needs to hang lower than before to operate belt. So I adjusted it accordingly. It was rubbing belt deforestation it started once nave ran blades but no stop blade??? They spin when started and deck shakes when started and engine drains battery trying to fight it to start? Can u help? Anybody!!!! Lol I need it
