Insane build guys ! Trust me put mufflers , when i built my e36 turbo i started with a straight pipe exhaust , its too loud , i finnaly redone everything and put 2 mufflers , if you are going to drive on the road , put mufflers , or valves if you have the budget. Sorry for my english , excuse me , i'm french ! Good luck guys !

Also curious your mods, driving style etc . I’m over 90K stock crank no issues thus far and I drive it hard.. not all the time but often. Just on a stock CS map tho so perfectly within factory spec. Did it total your engine? Or just needed head work?

@@mcintosh.motors Spun it while downshifting. Was on stage 1 tune 72k miles I got the car with 60k so can’t speak for previous owners. Car has intakes, chargepipes / intercooler and upgraded heat exchanger. Did drive the car hard but I wouldn’t say it was anything out of the ordinary. If it feels like your trans is slipping I would definitely start to look up the hub. Just needs head work + all the spun crank hub stuff. So at this point leaning more towards a swap instead of a rebuild

Go with the straight pipes for maximum tuning then if you want to dial back on power or quiet it down you’ll have those options still.

I highly recommend using the grace period afforded by that working DCT to hunt up a working transmission to mate with that engine. Here's the problem with the DCT: NO dealership or transmission shop will TOUCH it. Nobody in USA repairs these. Replacement cost is between $15k to $30k. Did I mention it's around 8 to 12 weeks for a replacement DCT to ship? Just giving you a heads up. Thanks for posting this.

Let people know what you do to recode the ECU to delete the electronic steering, lots of f80 guys prefer hydraulic steering, and would love to swap to the e90 rack. Wise fab sells a kit, but you will need to fab your own tie rods

I think the haters are probably thinking they have seen an E92 conversion as there's a few of them. Speed Academy did a engine swap in an M3 and got a look of flack as well, to be honest i was kinda one of them as i felt the engine was the soul of the M3, but changed my my mind when it was done. I tell you what would be sweet, if you had custom cam covers made with BMW on the Left, your chanel logo in the middle and on the Right an LS logo!

i'm an avid BMW lover (drive an E92 335i an F30 330E, and for track use an E30 325i and lastly an E36 325 supercharger) all 6 cylinder models, with a mix of NA and FI on the different models, but swapping an LS is a different level, these engines are lightweight (sort of) and have lots of power, with awesome aftermarket support, these projects are just awe inspiring keep up the good work!! and share

Sreten is based in Germany. I doubt this sort of engine swap would pass their TUV inspection (a very specific vehicle inspection required for vehicles to operate on a public streets and roadways in Germany). It's a pretty strict inspection. You can literally fail it over worn wiper blades (no I am not kidding).

Not impossible to fit it no but I’ve read allot about the enormous not worth the headache or cost to get all the systems to work. No knock on BMW community but it seems that swaps like this are often frowned on which is different from what I’m used to as an enthusiast. But I’ll be watching this build.
