American music is very unique and you hear nothing like it in Africa, this it's not "black" origin. And slaves in the US did not have freedom nor training enough to come up with complex orchestrated music. It was mainly European Americans who made it because of classical music (orchestra) which is very complex and diverse. That is originally from Europe. Look up Beethoven, Bach, and many other classical composers.

I was a kid, from 0-10yo, listening to country from my god-grandfather from JM Mcgomery, then he died, and I moved to the projects of Louisville, KY, and started listening to r&b and rap, and the. All 4 One's I swear came on radio and I was like, wtf.
