@@plumsimsttv I just tried something that might work for you, I re-installed Jade Empire on a whim through the EA app, but it wouldn't launch. I had an old Origin install download on my pc still so I re-installed that and updated to the most recent version of Origin. The accounts are the same so I was able to launch the game from the Origin launcher.

I'm annoyed that the next Sims update I'll have no choice but to log in online and use the Annoying EA app that you can't even personalise the way you could Origin. You can't even login offline to play offline. If you want to play offline you need to log in then select play offline. Like WTF!

My biggest issue with the EA app (and I haven’t even noticed until a month ago): Create a World for the Sims 3 has stopped working. If you try to edit your world in game it just starts the Sims 3 per usual. That’s sad and I truly believe EA should work on making things compatible, even when switching the app. I never used CAW a lot, but really wanted to recently, and I just couldn’t edit any of the lots because of the issue above. Let’s hope they fix this 😢❤😂

Then when I switched to the ea app it kinda mostly stopped opening, BUT I have found something that works every time now! I can write instructions here tomorrow (it’s 2 am lol) or send it to you somewhere else where it’s easier to read (I can then also send links) 😊

a lot of stuff for older games arent supported with the EA App, i had to reinstall sims 3 completely a little while ago and it wouldnt connect with the sims 3 stuff you might have bought from the website (such as worlds, content etc) it would install but then it wouldnt show up in game before uninstalling itself again. had to uninstall the app, get origin and fix it from there :( it also refused to install any DLC for dragon age origins.

Trust me, you did not miss the “invite.” It wasn’t missable. When origin loaded for me the last time it basically informed me that it was time to update to the EA app. As for my thoughts on the app, as far as I can tell my wish list is gone. I would like it back. If anyone knows how to access that, please let me know. I do dislike the layout, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in time.

unfortunately reading replies here and twitter, it really does seem to be a lucky dip at the minute of how the EA App is gonna work for people. I’ve seen plenty of people say they couldn’t access their games on it or their store content was wiped, which was fixed by reinstalling Origin. Whilst others prefer the EA App and it runs smoother than Origin ever did for them. I will say, my EA App transition was fine as seen in this video and has been fine since but it loads the game up a lot slower than Origin. But I can’t say that everyone’s gonna be as lucky as me If I were you, I would maybe hold off if you aren’t having issues with Origin, it’s still working as normal and you’re more confident with it. Seems that support isn’t caught up with all the issues that can be brought around with the EA App yet so I would personally stick with Origin until you cant. Also unfortunately EA haven’t been v forthcoming or transparent with information on the big switch since “in the new year” so there’s still no confirmed date. I've been using EA app since they announced the change and, so far, have only had two problems with it. When I first started using it, it didn't show Sims 4 in my game list. All I did to fix this was clear the app cache. The biggest issue I've had with the new app is downloads. What used to take maybe 5 minutes now takes about 20, and sometimes it will just stop downloading randomly or freeze. So be prepared for that.

Really? I feel like it may just be the opposite for me. The entire sims 4 game and add ons (minus just a few kits) downloads in like 20 minutes tops for me. It used to download longer for me when I used to use Origin. I’ve got a habit of uninstalling and re-downloading the entire game 😄 I still prefer Origin overall though!

My game took a minute or so to open when I had Origin but now with the EA App it just takes actually forever to open. I click the game at least five times because I don't think it's opening. I was forced to use the EA app instead of origin a few weeks ago - I literally wasn't able to use origin because they added an overlay linking to the EA app which you couldn't get rid off, not even when restarting. few months ago, I already installed the EA app and had the most annoying issues with it - sometimes the app claimed I didn't own the sims 4 and sometimes it started without all the packs I actually own. I only found out that packs were missing when I was in CAS and thought "why do I have so little choice? I thought I had more stuff??" - so I had to restart the game and the app (twice) to have it work out. there's no way to see whether the game starts with all of tour apps unless you are actually in a save file or in CAS 🙃 so I searched the internet to somehow find a download link for origin again (it gets uninstalled automatically when you install the EA app) which wasn't easy. I managed to find it, but as I already said, I wasn't able to use it for long until I got forced to switch again (and there's no way back now). phew.

My number 1 frustration with the EA app is the inability to play with games offline. I experienced an internet outage and my first thought was to boot up TS4, but couldn't play it due to this limitation. I don't understand why this isn't a feature. Edit: apparently this has been fixed? I ran into this issue last weekend and it blocked me from playing offline, but I guess it's resolved now lol.

I personally love the EA app, but have only a few problems with it. One tip for anyone that gets some lag; In settings there was an option to not autoplay the video animation that plays behind the game launcher, this made everything run faster instead of just pausing it every time. I also hate that it constantly logs me out and even though I have the "remember me" box checked I pretty much have to sign in daily and it doesn't save my password for more than a day.

my biggest issue with the ea app is that there's no wish list on there. and as someone who doesn't have all the packs, that's the first place i check when there are sales, so now i've had to keep track of which dlc i want myself and i lost the origin wish list completely. also i haven't tested this in a hot minute but when i was using the ea app a month-ish ago, it kept logging me out if i had network issues - so i kept having to input my username and password every time which was a headache

After switching to the EA App, some games stopped running. In support, they do not try to help or solve the problem, but simply give links to users with a similar problem and somehow solved it. And it doesn't seem like they care about it and they'll sort it out. I switched back to Origin by disabling the annoying platform change suggestion. And I don't regret it. Everything works great. EA App is raw and unfinished.

So I finally reached the stage of having to switch and I have to say it went great! No issues. I personally like the setup and how it looks as well. I do recommend going into settings though and stopping the autoplay on load up. Your load time will go quicker. It showed all the hours I've played and the games I've installed. I have to say for once I'm pleased with an EA update! It's a feakin miracle it all worked out so well.

I was forced out of Origin in the new year and after I accidentally downloaded all of my Sims 4 games in Portuguese, I found out that there were absolutly no way in the EA app to change the game's language, so i had to uninstall every game and install it again in english. (I'm brazilian but the portuguese version doesn't have the pronouns option available)

Yes, we have to move to the EA Play app in 2023. There's no official download page for Origin anymore, you have to get the EA App instead, and you want to. I started in the early beta version and have just over 8200 game hours in the Sims now. EA Play is a native x64, 64 bit app, so it'll launch the game quicker, allow for the game launcher to better use the SSD speed capabilities already included and always fast updating of the app. I've had a lot of success with it, I'd say it's about 30% faster for me. In time, it'll be able to utilize more hardware capabilities and support the next generations of DirectX and those capabilities. Then with RAM it can use over 3 GB without having to run a driver and "emulation" - special app capability in Windows to sort of use your RAM but isn't efficient and wastes RAM to support that capability which created some of our unstable experiences I believe with Origin that I haven't had with EA Play.

If this happens to you again, go up to the top bar and find where it says "app recovery" or "clear cache" - you'll have to re login, but that's how I fixed it when I first got the app

Not a huge fan on the new EA app, i had updated it by accident thinking it was just an update for origin. There's so many complications, especially when it comes to play TS4 S4MP since you can't share an account (i have almost all packs while my spouse only has base) unless it's the origin or EA app. However in my experience, TS4 is apparently managed by steam on the EA app which makes it all the more frustrating. So far i haven't found a fix to only be able to download the game by itself on EA app without the use of steam. I still have an old exe file of origin so i witched back to it in a heartbeat.

I personally love the EA app over Orgin. I've had it since September, I've had issues twice with the EA app early on when launching it to the point it was suggested to me by EA to uninstall and download again which did fix it, so you might want to keep the installer on hand just in case. I haven't had any issues of late with it. I find it so much easier to find things on the EA app. Sims3 and Sims4 both play better for me with very minimal lagging so now I can play with even more mods

EA app keeps signing me out over and over when Origin didn’t. Fucked up my mods for Battlefront 2 (which I found out how to get working on EA app) but just kept signing me out and erroring out. Battlefield V on Steam now forces me to download the EA app. But… you can just click the X button at the top right and keep re-launching and hitting X. This actually forces Origin to start up and play Battlefield V again. I’m not using the EA app until the Origin servers are gone on PC.

I didn't listen to your advice, and here's what happened: I started up the Sims 4 on January 1, and Origin told me that it couldn't establish a connection. I confirmed that my internet was at full strength, and started the Sims in offline mode. The game ran just fine, but I couldn't connect to the Gallery. I exited the game, and installed the EA App. Everything went well, and it could establish a connection. My game, all the add-ons, and my saves were there.

yeah unfortunately most EA online services were down last night for a fair while which included origin and the EA app for some people but i’m glad it went well for you!

I tried to switch back to origin but everytime I launched it opened a window instructing me to download the EA app and wouldn't let me do anything until I did...then it automatically uninstalled Origin 🤨

How ? I’m having that same issue. I’ve tried clearing the cache and taking the mods out and nothing worked. It doesn’t launch and says it’s a problem on their end to try again later, did it say it for you as well ? Thank you in advance :)

@@ebreezer_238 i had literal hours worth of troubles with the sims, perhaps try repairing the game (using the three dots and the repair button that pops up after pressing them thats next to the sims 4 game in the EA app) it didn’t work for me but it is supposed to solve some launching issues. take out save files and mods first though to avoid breaking your game

@@ebreezer_238 those are the same things I did and then I repaired the game a couple times, I honestly have no idea how what actually fixed it , it just ended up launching, hope you ended up fixing it!

Since moving to the ea app and then trying to install the free kit made it so i now have not packs in my game any more. Reached out to ea help but they say it's a known issue that they are trying the fix and that i should keep looking at their social media to see if it's fixed. Luckily i play the sims 3

the solution is literally redownloading origin and launching the sims 4 through there. it’s an issue with just the EA app, i had the same one i think, except EA was very useless about it

Hope, You try everything in your power, we always had problems with the app Origin in the past like updates, EA has always partner with origin, we had to through EA login to play Sims on Origin keep the faith

I switched a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't by choice - I went in to play Sims 3, via Origin, and it forced me to switch over to the APP. I only use it for Sims 3 - but after the change, my main "save game" seemed to be corrupted and wouldn't load. Also, some of the things that I had downloaded into the game (including paid for stuff) seemed to be missing from the APP version of the game. Although I managed to find some of the things, when I tried to re-apply them to the game, they still didn't seem to work, and for a whole "set" of things I had to re-buy from the Sims 3 online store, they still didn't seem to be there after re-installing them.

I had to contact the help team bc the app itself wouldn’t install at all. They helped me literally the day I contacted them and they were really helpful. I wish I had been brave enough to contact them right when I had the issue, bc it happened in October and I waited until December to contact them 😅 the app works well for me now though!

I was forced to migrate to EA app. L move honestly, EA doesnt allow to play offline yet. That day, my internet connection was down just when I want to play The Sims 4, EA dont allow it. They should have just finished their launcher before forcing everyone to use it. Its really broken.

guys please get origin also as a backup for now, expansion packs don’t download as easily on ea app. I’ve had issues with it so try desperately to find origin for now and it shall install the new packs since switching

my main problem with EA App, as someone who never used Origin, is my play times never worked correctly. I played for like 10 hours, then I started a new save for another 10ish hours and it only added 20-30 minutes to the total play time

I switched to EA and I lost a good 200 dollars because it got rid of ALL of my packs but it forced me to switch over it wouldn’t let me play so I had to switch and it took away all of my packs..and because I didn’t know it was going to force me to download EA I didn’t back my game up so now EVERYTHING is gone

@@itysheen367 yes that’s why I watched this. They replied back with in a couple of minutes and said they would be working on figuring it out over the course of the next few days. Some of my stuff is back if I log in but a few kits and a expansion pack are still gone but there working on it so hopefully it gets fixed.

Why is it that a popular youtuber can open the EA app and have all their games listed in the transfer, but regular people playing and making the transfer cannot. I am really sick of EA, I just did the swap and on reddit everyone else is having issues. I can see that EA def makes sure others or specific people do not run into issues. Because this makes EA look good that a youtber of over 294k subs can open it and play with no issues.

My biggest issue is that I no longer have access to my Sims 4 games and expansions for some reason. Not really sure what I'm supposed to do now because I bought the majority of it digitally. Customer support basically told me it is a global issue??? Origin download just informs me to download the EA app. It's so frustrating because I didn't even know this was a thing.

I switched to the EA app and suddenly I can see old games that I forgot I had - like MySims and Sims Pet Stories. I haven't tried loading them, but I remember them not working and then the icons disappearing on Origin many years ago.

So before you download this, know that with the EA app you can't gift games/add-ons to friends. I was planning to give a couple of expansions as Christmas gifts, but that's too late now.

I lost all my packs and stuff when I switched and apparently that is a not too uncommon and (at the moment, sadly) unfixable problem… I contacted the support and they can’t help with anything, it’s really frustrating. Now I just have to wait I guess

i would re-download origin. if you google origin download there’s non official downloads (which i would verify if they’re legit based on reviews etc) this is all at your own risk but it saves waiting. although it’s v v frustrating that they literally said contact support and then they can’t do anything
