What a great example of fatherhood, you may not realize it Gido but your son will remember that day long after you are gone. Get the daughter into it as well. You have an amazing family and at times (even though I am probably 30 years your senior) wish you were my Dad. Keep being you!

My daughter was keen to come out fishing also. But after that event I think I’ll save it for a better location to launch from. I hope to take them both on some adventures this year and I’m sure he’ll remember that day for sure !

@@gidosfishingadventures Both you and your wife are a breath of fresh air, transferring your life skills to your children can only reap rewards. I have pics of teaching my father to fish, I baited the hook, cast the line, explained what to with a bite, reeled it in, took the photo of my dad holding it, then filleted it and stored it. But, his memory of that day lasted his lifetime. As they say, "teach a man to fish..." I miss him very much! Btw it was a massive mulloway caught behind the old wool sheds in Freo. Made a lot of fish cakes 🤣

My dad taught us kids to fish (ocean rock fishing in Victoria) back in the late 50s. My two brothers lost interest as they got older while I, a girl, have remained enthusiastic all my life (& still keen at 71!). One thing I've always valued & found useful life-long is knowing how to clean and gut a fish - thanks dad! Huge huge huge fan of you and your videos Gido!

Awesome video Gido. Watching you spend time with your beautiful family really strikes a chord in my soul and heart. Our young family lost my wife a little over a year ago to cancer and a video like this would normally break me to tears but although I was a bit sad because I know what we'll miss I also felt extreme happiness seeing you and your family so happy together. Thank you for taking us viewers on these adventures with you. I'm hoping to finally pull myself back together to take my 4 and 7 year old on adventures once again. Also - what a good lesson learned for Oli! No one got injured. He learned about getting rolled in the ocean at an early age and he still showed interest in the fish and cleaning it later! Means he wants phased by the dip at all! Cheers OLI!!

Nice to see a family trip. Great seeing your son go out with you - even despite the capsize. He didnt panic in any way, had a PFD on and all was well. You always prepare for what might happen 1 time out of a hundred. Kiddo's face when he got that fish was amazing :)

Your son reminds me of myself as a kid fishing and camping with my father, both of us would spend all summer in shorts, thongs and tank tops with the old terry toweling hats. We'd go raking crabs with his mates and cooking them up on the beach drinking beer, snapper fishing offshore in our boat, the best memories of my life. I still look at photos from the times even though I'm 60 now. We'd also go shooting pigs at Wilcannia, goats in the Flinders, just the best childhood a boy could have. Your lad handled the dunking really well, didn't panic at all. How did ya get beam on to the waves?

Well done mate, another epic vid. I take my kids out from time to time as well and film for the memories later on in life. Great memories for the kids, but also so cool to look back on when they get older, seeing what an effort dad put in to take them out. Often its stress city (for the parent) when you're in the moment, but it sure pays off for them. Keep it up.
