I always find these kind of interactions hilarious in movies. "I trained you!" or "I trained the guy who trained you, so that means I'm way better than you!" So...does that mean that each new recruit just gets worse and worse? Seems like a crappy way to keep your organization on top

Usually it's more about experience, 'I trained the guy that trained you, so I've been doing this since way before you even started'. Not that each new recruit gets worse and worse but they all have to start at the bottom and work their way up, if you can survive long enough to be a couple training generations above someone you've probably picked up more tricks than they've had time to absorb
