Highway speeding is not a problem, that’s just the Highway Patrol making quotas and writing tickets to generate revenue. The real problems are DUI, people driving the wrong way on highways, and speeding on city roads. Wrong way driving needs to be addressed systemically, because something about the way on-ramps are laid out here in Las Vegas that make it more of a problem here than anywhere else in the country, people who aren’t even intoxicated make these mistakes.

@@markhudson6137 maybe you’ve got an extreme notion of speeding but driving 10-15 miles per hour I’ve rather speed limit, and especially when that’s consistent to the flow of traffic, IS NOT A PROBLEM. The problem is with people who have no concept of the flow of traffic, and drive dangerously slower and cut people off with unnecessary lane changes or driving in the pain lane without passing anyone. It’s especially problematic when merging too slowly. Speeding is not a problem we have. Reckless driving is. Understand the difference.

My nephew has been a NHP trooper for a while. They’ve always been shorthanded-There’s been too many times to count how many times he’s been by himself from Mount Charleston to blue diamond. Y’all on here don’t even know.

Had a lady texting next to me come into my lane twice and almost sideswipe me, i honked at her so she cuts in front of me and starts brake checking me and going hysterical! Effing California phucks bringing their bad horrible driving habits! How is it my fault when you almost hit somebody else do to your texting??? She acted like I was in the wrong when I was maintaining my Lane the whole time, it's getting crazy out there everyday it's worse and worse.

Most people from cali have no idea how the traffic flow here is. driving dynamics here is different than there. different speed limits bigger roads. Get a dash cam. Have it on record. Submit it to NHP and other departments. all you can do. don’t confront them. not worth it.

You can't hire what's not qualified to be a NHP. And a lot of qualified people are not going that route because of income and rotational hours. Public service is a calling that requires a lot of sacrifice, just ask the military members.

@@FoamySlobbers the haphazard bad planned growth signed off by the politicians and city/transportation planners was set up 10-30 years ago when plans were set in motion and agreed to. For instance the roads and highways are set up in an extremely dangerous manner that incites speeding and thus accidents. Another part is I really see police on the streets or highways, no threat of enforcement whatsoever hence the mad max driving behavior. I’d say less that 20% of the people here drive the speed limit which is way too high in the first place. The responsibility falls on politicians and planners. I did see metro working a speed traps on buffalo this morning and the looks on the ticketed drivers faces was priceless!!!! SLOW THE F DOWN

Unfortunately one Saturday morning about 8am last summer I witnessed a pretty bad accident on the street, called 911 about 4 times. Unbelievably the 911 calls went to an automated hold which was never answered. To this day no call back to assess the nature of why I called. So it's not just about fewer troopers. I never knew automated hold at 911 existed 😳 😐
