tip: if your looking for bed bugs anywhere, look in the corner of the mattress. remove the sheets and stuff until its down to the legit mattress. ive never seen but you can use gloves to check. under the line of the mattress, if you see little bugs, theyre bed bugs and just leave. tell the manager or maybe pest control. every corner is suggested to be looked at.

I actually did the plumbing in Hotel Fort Des Moines. To be honest you got one of the better rooms when you stayed. They get way smaller the higher levels you go, and yes the bathrooms are tiny in those rooms as well. You don’t even want to know what we had to do to make that hotel “work”.

So I lived through an infestation and I've been paranoid since, the bedbugs were really hard to get with, I needed multiple days when I was only cleaning, rebuilding whole room to check everywhere, washed whole wardrobe, bedding etc. I can't mentally shake it off and it's been more than free once since I saw last one. One bug and in two months you can have infestation, no joke. I wouldn't dare to sleep in room where I would find this...

Bed bugs are easily treated now. Especially since housekeepers at all these hotels except the first hotel are constantly inspecting bed sheets and treating all breading areas with insecticide. Bed bugs are less common and the only reason to have an issue anymore is if the place is under staffed, has lazy staff, or the business is literally falling apart. Bed bugs now are a sign of mismanagement and the first hotel definitely deserved the 1 star.

@@zombwars7749 I’ve had bedbugs before, they were horrible to get rid of and kept coming back no matter what I did and I was very meticulous about keeping things clean, and treating my bedding, clothes, etc. it cost me thousands of dollars in house treatments from pest control to finally get rid of them for good. It’s really not that simple.

IF you don’t find bed bugs on the sheets it’s best to check the corners and bottom of the mattress by lifting up the fitted sheet especially at the head of the bed. Also if the backboard is fabric smack it and see if any scatter. My mom who is a nurse taught me this. Always do it at any hotel even if it’s the Ritz Carlton. Look for bloodstains and spots too.
