Such a comprehensive review of all of these! Thank you! I love a few you tried today. I’m a makeup And skincare junkie and been an MUA over 20 years. (Not practicing anymore though) and I have told so many people to not spend a fortune on high end mascara and stick to drugstore for that. You can get some amazing mascara in the drugstore and considering that you should change your mascara every 3 months (some is 6 but not often!) It just is a waste of money buying high end when you can get amazing mascara from the drugstore. I have so much high end makeup and skincare and I absolutely love to compare it to the drugstore counterparts. So many dupes out there. Some things just have no comparison but so many these days do! The drugstore is coming through with the quality lately!

My personal favorite is Maybelline Lash sensational. The wand is perfect and it coats the entire lash. I will say I always coat the top of my lash first, then under pulling up. It actually covers the tips of the lashes better. Sometimes the tips don’t get covered without that step. I’m 51 and my lashes have gotten thinner, BUT I started using castor oil on my lashes at night. I just cover the entire lid, and actually lightly rub it up and done to cover the lashes and get into the base. Castor oil helps your hair, nails and skin and is the only oil that actually penetrates into the skin even down to the bone. ( you can make a pack and heal organs even). It improves eye sight also so this is why I put it over my entire eye area. My lashes are long and full, ( like they were in my 20’s) and so are my brows. It’s even filling in my hairline that was recessing. ❤

I know a lot of people that swear by Castor oil, but I tried it on my lashes once it blocked one of my oil glands and I ended up with a chalazion on my eye (a small bump) and it was painful! May I ask what specific castor oil you use? I would definitely give it a go on my 90s eyebrows! 😂 Thanks again for sharing such useful information 🥰💗

@@CarmelNicoleBeauty oh no! Maybe if your eyes are sensitive to such a heavy oil just rub a small amount between your fingers then softly brush it on your lashes. It will soak in and pull the oil into the base of your lashes but won’t be heavy. I use Handcraft blends 100% pure castor oil expeller cold pressed. It’s helped shrink my pores, reduce wrinkles and even helped with broken capillaries on my cheeks. It is a very sticky heavy oil. If it’s to sticky for you mix it with vegetable glycerin or aloe Vera gel. However don’t use it on your eyes.

Brilliant revue - I have been using the same mascara for 30+ years,(Cover Girl Professional 3-in-1) but it's becoming increasingly difficult to find, and when I do, I'm finding that it is probably old stock and is dry right from the start and is useless after 3 weeks. I have thick (double layer) lashes, but not particularly long lashes, and I need a brush that will get through the lashes. I'm not a fan of plastic brushes, prefer a bristle, and preferably a curved brush. I have been experimenting with so many different brands and your video is such a help - especially the side by side at the end. Really liking the look of the NYX worth the hype.

@@CarmelNicoleBeauty Max Factor is the same! I can't remember the details, but I read times ago that MF and CG are actually the same brand. It "split" for the US and EU market for some reason. Many products don't have an equivalent in one or the other brand, but others do and are literally the same. CG Lash Blast is MF False Lash Effect. BTW, what a nice, pleasant review. I don’t like waterproof mascaras either. I love the gold tube L’Oreal telescopic. And, Essence Lash Princess as you tried. You know what I do with it, I wave the wand around to dry out the formula a little before applying. I layer the green one and purple one.

Wonderful video compiling mascaras I've tried. Maybelline Sky High is my favorite. As you stated, it's amazing to separate, lengthen and lift lashes. Just begin at the base of the lashes and go slow. I only do 1-2 coats.

Thankyou so much for this very thorough review of drugstore mascaras. I really liked the volume that the NYX gave you. My favourite of these on you would be the L’Oréal Panorama. The one I have used for years is Maybelline Full N Soft - it’s just easy, gives me a good result and doesn’t make my sensitive eyes sting. Ps. Thanks for describing what tubing mascara is - I have never heard anyone actually describe it and talk about removal as well. I was always a bit scared to try it ☺️ Great video 😊

Great vlog. I have short straight lashes and I find the curl drops if I don’t use a waterproof mascara. My biggest issue is trying to find brown mascara as black is too stark for my colouring. My favourite has always been L’Oréal lash architect but it’s hard to find now and impossible to get waterproof and brown x

@@CarmelNicoleBeauty Hi Carmel, thought I'd get back to you with the full fan effect mascara. Oh the joys. Lol. My eyes have large malars and the skin above my eyelid droops over my eyelid making it difficult to apply mascara. Just a little of worthless information there. Lol. Tried the mascara; 1st few times quite a bit went on my eyelids. Not a good look. Lol. Invested in a mascara guard. What a waste of money and an eyelash curler which didn't work for me either. Because I have a lot of droop over my eyelid I kept pinching my skin even after practicing. Lol. I'm happy to say, it's not all doom and gloom. I pressed my finger horizontally over my top lashes for about 30 seconds on each side and that gave them a bit of definition (yay) and applied the mascara afterwards. Once the mascara has dried I do the finger thing again and I end up with really nice lashes. Obviously, you have to be realistic. My lashes are still on the short side but a lot better than they were. I can honestly say, once I mastered the application for applying mascara. The full fan effect has been a good investment. Big thank-you for your review on mascara's. It definitely has helped. Much respect. Angie

I have smaller eyes/sockets and would like to find an eyelash curler made for smaller eyes. No matter which mascara I use my biggest complaint is how fast they dry out in the tube. I have short lashes and after using some of these mascaras I have never been able to get the length that you have….wow! If you find the brush too big for bottom lashes use one of the brands with a tiny brush for those.

I have very deep set eyes & I’ve always used the Tweezerman Eyelash curler, it’s basic but does the job well! ☺️ Great tip about the bottom lashes, I usually save my skinny wands for the bottom like you say- otherwise I just make a real mess 😂 I’ve found some mascaras definitely dry out faster than others, which is a real pain. The search for the perfect mascara sometimes does seem never ending 😄🩷

@@chelsea6344 Hi Chelsea! I’m so sorry that I didn’t include any waterproof options. The tubing mascaras do perform very similarly, although obviously won’t be as tough as waterproof. For your oily eyelids, have you tried an eye primer? Elf’s Lock it Down Eye Primer is not only great for prepping for shadow, it will help to control oily eyelids too. Hope you find a good mascara in your search! 🩷

Another Maybelline you might want to try is Great Lash. There are two different wands though. One is very ordinary and one is fat and short (labeled big lashes on tube). The short wand is teardrop shaped so you can really get individual lashes and bottom lashes.

I don’t think we have Lottie London in America. But the L’Oréal telescopic is the best for lengthening. So, fragrance free means that it does not contain any fragrance OR any masking fragrance which masks the nasty smells put out by the chemicals. I never use fragrance free for that reason. Unscented means it carries a masking fragrance but doesn’t allow chemical smells out.

I almost finished one great Kiko (longeyes plus active) mascara (great but better if the wand was smaller, I wanted to pick up the ultra tech volume and definition but it was sold out), so I'm still looking for something while I'm waiting for Black Friday to rebuy Lancôme Hypnose. L'Oréal Panorama, essence false lash, and elf lash extender seem to be good contenders. Thank you for the last slide comparison. Your lashes are neither short nor sparse. They are actually quite long and a nice healthy density, not super dense but more dense than most women have. I don't know who lied to you and told you your lashes are short and sparse.

Hi Linzi, thank you so much for your kind words- and a huge welcome to you ☺️💕 So as far as I’m aware, the Sky High in the black tube is called ‘cosmic black’ which means that the black colour of the mascara is supposed to be more intense with ‘cosmic black pigments’. I haven’t personally tried it, but I imagine the deeper black colour is the only major difference 🥰💗 xx

These are my favorite drugstore mascaras: Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof--I love the curve and size of the brush (not too big as I have smaller eyes) and it stays all day. Two quick coats suffice. Essence Volume Stylist---I only need a coat of it for my lashes to look long and volumized. It smudges a little on my hooded eyes (because I wear sunscreen everywhere, and that's a non-negotiable) Looks-wise, I love Lash Paradise Waterproof...but I find it difficult to remove, even with my cleansing balm. The NYX "Worth the Hype" and the L'Oreal "Panorama" look great on you!

@@deemorgan5046 Thank you for your suggestion. Baby oil and "pure" mineral oil cause milia on a lot of people, so it's best to avoid them around the eyes. Olive, avocado, coconut, and argan would be much better options for breaking down sunscreen and waterproof makeup in a double-cleanse routine.

This is an absolutely immaculate review video, I really think you’ll gain quite the audience soon enough! Video and audio quality? Stellar. Your voice is incredibly down to earth and soothing while also feeling “real” and not like you’re acting for a camera. I find with a lot of American-based influencers, their reactions can come across as quite fake which may just be a culture thing (I’m a Northerner from England afterall 😂 quite a difference). So it’s nice to see another Brit in the makeup mix! I’d love to see another comparison video of mascaras, possibly ones from East Asia! I’ve tried a couple over the last year and they do absolute WONDERS for my straight and short lashes. I suggest Clio Kill Lash (long curling is the one I used), Heroine Make Advanced Film is another nice option. I ran out of the Clio one and ordered myself the Judydoll 3D Curling Iron mascara after seeing so many good reviews. The wands on the Asian mascaras are a lot thinner than Western ones and it’s a lot easier to get closer to the lash line, they’re also fairly lightweight and hold a curl so well! :) Great, great video looking forward to seeing more! ❤

The drugstore one I've used and tend to like is maybeline great lash. The bright green and pink packaging. I wasn't impressed with essence mascara. I need volume and in high end. Hi Elaine, oh I completely understand! If I’m honest, I was a complete mascara snob for years! My favourites were the Armani Eyes to Kill & the Volume de Chanel. But genuinely, the drugstore have seriously stepped up their mascara game! Now I don’t even reach for my high end 😮 I’m not saying that I never will of course, but I’m really blown away by the performance of such affordable products! I only heard of the telescopic lift from "lashgate". Honestly it is the best mascara I've ever tried. My lashes looked so long and gorgeous all day long. I love the wand, It doesn't make a mess. I think you are using curved wands wrong. The hump goes upward to push the lashes up. I saw you hold it and apply hump down and said something about wrapping around lashes. ???? Meant to be helpful, not rude.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that! 😕 Tubing mascaras are very hard to remove with anything but warm water- and it took me a while to learn this because I always use a cleanser! I follow a lot of beauty influencers but they are mainly based in America and I find lots of the products they recommend are not available in the UK or are expensive to have shipped here.
