For the amount you pay for the expensive capsule hotel, I would rather stay at a business hotel, and instead of staying at a cheap capsule hotel, I would rather stay at an Internet cafe. It's still interesting to see what it's like. I stayed at the 9 in the Narita Airport, and that was enough for me.

Lol, I stayed at the Millenials capsule hotel in Kyoto only 2 years ago, it was just 35$ per night. IPhone to control your bed and connect your phone as beamer to have private cinema. They also have free beer hours and excellent coworking spaces. Their showers are also awesome quality :)

I stayed at a capsule chain called Anshin Oyado in both Shinjuku and Akihabara during my previous visits to Tokyo. I absolutely recommend them! Though they do only service men, so keep that in mind. Lots of amenities, some locations have a bar on site too and all that fun stuff.

These really cheap capsules are for people who missed the last train and need to crash before going to the office the next morning. Of course today I think they house the homeless and stuff too, but they aren't really intended for tourists. The nice ones clearly are catering to the latter.
