Even more important than which food attractant deer paid the most attention to, notice that the bucks came into the food sources that had more cover around them, while the food on the edge of the wide open food had no bucks come to it and more of the activity was after dark. The best food plots are "Diversity, Wrapped in Security". As long as you offer them a diverse variety of stuff, deer don't care a lot what food sources they have, but they definitely care about feeling secure in the locations where they feed.

The thing to remember about what attracts is while the bucks are growing horns they need minerals. But when the RUT starts all they need is that other attractant. Use rut scent in scrapes and Doe scent on a hand warmer in a sock on a small rope behind you and let hang 50 to 100 yds out or put several in a half circle they will come running but watch your back while going in.

I own 260 acres n rather than blocks I buy a big bag of dicalcium phosphate n mineral salt n mix them n make individual licks .. they make 2 foot holes .. I prefer to use less salt more mineral approximately like 5 to 1 Dical / Salt .. the Salt is really only there as the taste n attractant so to speak the di cal for the antler growth ! I've read they cannot correlate or prove increased antler growth to putting out mineral licks but in my experience seems to help a bit !! Good luck to Everyone shoot Straight n Please Please Stay Safe 😎

I add 1/3 bag of sweet feed to 1 50lb bag of shelled corn. If u have the money to spare sprinkle C'mere deer on the top or don't.. I just always add some a few days before season opens. I also pour molasses mixed with mineral salt and pour it on a rotten stump and on the ground. I grab a branch as high as I can reach and pull it down and dip the tip in molasses to draw them in to a new spot. I pour a sack of wheat a couple days before the season opens and I also pour a bag a couple weeks before season hits and they tear it up, I pour it around tree stumps so they can't eat all of it what's left they paw in the ground so I have wheat popping up during season. So 1/3 bag of sweet feed to one bag of corn. Molasses and mineral or plain bagged salt mixed for a mineral lick, then pour a bag of wheat 2-3 weeks before season opens then pour another bag of wheat 1-2 days before season opens. It has worked great for me. Add sunflowers to your feed if u know someone that grows them. Piss on your mock scrapes and hope u have luck on your side

If you look at the ingredients on most of these attractants, “grain by-product” is usually the main ingredient. Rice bran is more expensive this year, but still cheaper for 50 pounds than most of these 10 dollar bags. Deer on my lease eat it like candy. They’ll eat 20 pounds in 2 or 3 days.

Not sure where you are located but on my property in the mountains of Ky (that's all I'm saying) the apple corn is the favorite. I believe that most all neighboring properties and farms are using regular corn except for a good friend of mine, who is a mile down the road. He puts out some expensive cherry flavored bait, that I can't remember the name of right now. All I know is that for the past 2 years, the bucks that everyone are wanting, move from my property to his farm. The competition is fun and I get to rub it in when I get THE buck he and the guys on his youtube channel are after 😂. And, with bait that costs a quarter of the price of what they're paying for the "fancy" stuff. Seriously, 50lbs every other day or so is expensive. People can knock baiting all they want. I know they do and will. I really don't care. One, a lot of us are older now and either disabled or have medical conditions that limits our ability to move as much or as far as we could 10-15 years ago 😅. When you young pupps get arthritis in both knees along with a torn meniscus, talk to me about "real hunting" when your hunting land stretches for miles. My stands are between 100 to 250 yards from my home, depending on which side of the street. If my 4 wheeler were down, I couldn't hunt. Enjoy your youth and health while you are young!

Interesting test and a fun video (thank you for doing this!), but a better test would have spread the different products out a very large distance from one another. They all work to a certain degree and they were too close to each other to determine which one was doing the heavy lifting. Just because they might eat one first doesn't mean that it was the product that attracted them to the test site. In my own limited testing, Buck Bourbon was definitely not worth the money and I'll not use it again (simple, cheap deer corn was far better)... but I see from the comments that others have had good success with it.

I was reading the comments. There is science at work with carrots. Use the carrots for deer in the winter. Deer know what and when to eat based on their body, pregnant or antler grows stages. Carrots are extremely hi in sugars and carbs, and they know they dont need until extreme cold

I think the best test would be to randomly put that stuff in a NON deer populated area and give it a real test. Putting it out in a known deer area is not really that great of a test. They just pick the one they like this way lol. Idk
