Best video review I have seen on this unit yet, by a huge margin. If I were to buy another EcoFlow product it would be this one. This fits the bill in one nice package and for me I am not into being completely off grid but do experience frequent outages in Texas due to storms. Thanks to you I placed an order for an EG4 off grid inverter and the EG4LL battery that will complete my set up for emergencies at a lower cost. The cons for me at the moment is the cost, and the weight of the unit. I used to worry about customer service with EcoFlow until recently when I had to send 2 EcoFlow Delta max 2000 and a river pro back. I thought it would cost me an arm and a leg for shipping but was thoroughly surprised when they sent me shipping labels. In less than 3 weeks they had replaced every unit I sent on their dime. So knowing this unit is a beast and weighs a lot I feel confident that EcoFlow will take care of all their customers within time should they have problems. Another feature I do not like about this unit is that the handle is very low. For older people like myself and those with limited mobility, I feel it would be easier for them to move the unit around if the handle that extends was on the top. If you still have to bend down and lift it at its fulcrum for leverage it could still be very heavy. I don't remember if it is anker or someone else that has the handle on top. The final thing that I find as a con is the solar input it provides. If I were to buy it with extension batteries, I have doubts that it would be able to recharge the batteries fully on a solar day. All in all EcoFlow has hit this one out of the ball park as you always do with your videos. Great, great job!

Glad you broke from waiting until Friday to review this one! The Anker 3800 finally has some real competition:) The Anker has the edge on split phase output at 6KW vs 4KW for the EcoFlow but the 120 V only charging for the Anker kills it for anything except an emergency where as the EcoFlow can be fully integrated into your home for true online backup of critical loads during a blackout. This one is definitely on my short list. I'm really looking forward to what else they will be bring out later this year. I ordered a Victron 100/30 charge controller. I was finally able to find the "lithium" setting in my big clunker MPPT and it says in that mode it only has "float" setting that reverts to 13.80 which is exactly when my plug-in charger light turns green. But I can`t understand all the other settings. Float numbers can be changed. I can only get 300w using 10 gauge cables. Other larger ones won`t fit. So with the Victron added to this I can use three more 100w panels to keep the battery fully charged on sunny days and run my 400w air conditioner. I plan to get a 2nd Victron since it has a LiFeP04 setting and probably better instructions and so many use them I`ll be able to get advice. I don`t want to damage my battery using the other one.
@rcguymike5 ай бұрын
The Victron is limited to 30 amps on both sides, PV input and charging output. With a 12v system you can only get ~400W max. Switch to a 48V system and you can get up to ~1600W. Make sure your panels are wired in series to get as close to 100V as possible but find an online calculator if you plan to run the system when it gets cold out

Jason, great review! I really like this unit; it's the right balance of power capacity and portability, and I really like how small the external batteries are and that they can now stack, making it take up very little floor space, and I love the DC output. However, the MSRP really kills the excitement for me; this thing would be exciting at $2999 (66% of the launch price of the Delta Pro Ultra for 66% of the capacity of the DPU), and I think that would have made it the 1st A+ on your scoring system. At this MSRP, unless portability is really high on your list, I think it is so much better to just spend a little extra on a Delta Pro Ultra!

It can charge with 120v input all the time, and run both inverters. So 120v input = 120v output and 240v output. When you charge it with 240v input, it disables all inverters so you can't power anything.

How much inrush current can this handle on the 240v leg? I have a pump with a 57A LRA rating, not sure if either the Anker Solix F3800 or this Ecoflow Delta Pro 3 can handle it, but I know if I go for a non-portable solution like an EG4 6000xp it'll be able to handle the inrush.

Great review! Do you think it is practical to use Delta Pro 3 as a UPC given the almost 1% drain at idle?
@JasonoidАй бұрын
Do you mean as a UPS? When it's plugged into the wall it passes power through to your devices so the inverter is on standby, it will stay at 100% state of charge.

Great video mate. Can you please tell me, with the solar inputs, do I need both a xt60 and an xt60i to use both or does an xt60i fit into the hi volt port? Manual says to get both plugs but seems to be so much talk about how one is better than the other but can’t seem to get clear info, I’ve just ordered my Delta pro three and I’m trying to get my cable set up so I’m ready to charge with both solar inputs can’t believe the cables don’t come with the station
@Jasonoid26 күн бұрын
The solar cables are not included. For peak power you are going to want to use an XT60i on both changing ports 👍

@@Jasonoid thankyou mate. And one more for you, I’m in Australia and yet to get my unit. Hopefully today, Do you think it’s worth setting up and getting the 3pin plug on the 16 amp supply ( the one on the side ) or just use 1 of the 15amp points on the front of the unit if using for home supply through a transfer changeover switch. Ie, does any of the front 240/15amp supply provide the full amount of power or are they reduced as 3600 max watts?

Nice machine. I just did a pre order for the new pecron with EB for my truck camper but this was my top choice though a bit more expensive. What do the 30amp RV outlet usually run off of? AC or DC power?
@Jasonoid5 ай бұрын
The Pecron is quite the deal vs this one being almost double the cost. An RV setup has both DC and AC loads so the power station will need to power both. So you'll use both 30amp outputs actually.

Thats one use case for sure! That's how I would use it, to power critical loads like fridges and other essentials.

How well does it handle unbalanced 240v split phase loads? Can it provide 4kw to 1 leg in split phase 240v?
@Jasonoid28 күн бұрын
No, you have to balance the legs pretty evenly just like what you'd want to do I'm your home main panel.

Why is this inverter so much more efficient when on with no load than the f3800?
@Jasonoid4 ай бұрын
The inverter size of the DP3 matches it's internal battery size (4000w and 4096wh) The inverter size of the F3800 is 6000w and the battery is 3800wh. It's almost a 2 to 1 ratio on the F3800.

@jasonoid which one would you recommend for whole house backup? This Delta Pro 3 or the Anker Solix 3800?
@Jasonoid5 ай бұрын
I think it's better to have the higher solar input voltage on the DP3 and the 240v inverter doesn't shut off when AC charging like it does on the Anker F3800. The DP3 is more expensive though... I made a whole video about getting around the "quirks" of the F3800 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnfPg56Dop2lesUsi=GmKtwyWxJ7IkYb9u
@dbnoho5 ай бұрын
I am not the expert. So listen to others for a final decision. But as a person in the same boat. If you are hooking to a smart home panel. The f3800 is better. Solely because it’s similar batter but 6k output. That’s the difference between a a/c, a tv and fridge. Or just an a/c If you wanted to say, charge during off peak hours or with panels. No smart panel. And just run fridges and computers etc. with the unit in house. Get the dp3. Every time. But if you wanted to do a whole house backup. With smart hub. Get the f3800. Mainly because the price to the party is so different. If you want to expand and expand and expand. Ecoflow is better overall. But you buy one f3800. You get 6k output and almost 4K battery. Dp3 you get 4K output. And 4K battery. So now you want to upgrade. A year later. Whatever. Maybe you catch a great sale. Two f3800 is going to have 12k output. That’s your entire house. I don’t care where you live. I have 3 A/c units and 4,600 sq ft home. That can power all of it. Two dp3. That’s 8k output. That can power 85% of the homes out there. So if you’re in the 85%. Good. But if you needed the extra push. You need a third unit. (That’s whole home backup.) and fortunately. The dp3 can get a third unit. The f3800 cannot. But now you’re $12,000 in. (Hopefully you get tax credit.) And you have 12,000 watt output. And 12,000 battery. And that’s awesome. That’s a lot. But you are $12,000 in. F3800. You have 12,000 output and 8,000ish battery. But you’re, with sales. $6,500 in. Which, you could easily wait for a sale. A bundle. Whatever. Buy extra batteries. Now if you have solar. Right now on your roof. The reason to really consider f3800. When it has smart hub installed it reads how much power is coming from solar. How much is being used on the house. And then it charges up with the excess. The other systems to my knowledge do not have that ability. Maybe they can update. No clue. But Anker is the only one with ac coupling. So if you have solar panels right now. Done. Anker. But if I had to choose right now. No solar on my roof. I just want to buy a couple panels and set something up in the yard. Shed. Whatever. I would use ecoflow. Mainly because every single source says Anker is more or less trying to shoehorn people into their panels. And their panels are great. But it’s $1000 for 400 watt panels. I can buy the same renelogy panels off Amazon for $400ish. So you want to buy 1600w in panels that’s $4000 or so from Anker. Or, you do the work arounds which are very possible. (He attached a video) or you can just get an ecoflow and plug and party for $1600. A massive price difference. If I lived in a one A/C house. I personally would get the ecoflow. Since I don’t. It’ll probably be Anker only because I live in California and they seem to look at previous systems and time of use. And others don’t.
@rcguymike5 ай бұрын
You can "shoehorn" anyone into specific panels. Every solar panel has wires with a voltage coming out, you either buy an adapter or cut the ends off and terminate with a proper cable. If your solar panels don't come with MC4 you should probably look elsewhere 😅. Also if you need more than a thousand watts worth of panels you should be seriously looking at getting a pallet or partial pallet of panels delivered. You can get brand new 30 year warranty Aptos panels for less than $.30/W. Usually there is a minimum order quantity, for example signature solar has a minimum of 10, but you're going to get way more. I just got during their spring sale an EG4 LL-S 5kWh battery and 3700W of solar panels for ~$2600 to my door.

Can you run a sump pump to the front panel of this unit and have the unit plugged into regular wall outlet to have it act as a UPS for a sump pump? And after the power drains can it be automatically turned back on once batteries are charged?
@Jasonoid4 ай бұрын
Yes, it can have the inverter enabled and charge at the same time on both the 120v and 240v output. You can also enable a setting in the smart app that will "remember" the last known output setting before it died so it will turn on the AC inverter again.

I can't seem to change the fast charging from 1800 watts to slow charging? The slide only controls the output watts? Is there something missing?
@JasonoidАй бұрын
You swap the unit to "custom / slow charging" through the switch and then you can adjust the charging wattage in the smart app under the settings. That's the only way to adjust the speed.
