I have to say that I LOVE the 30A DC port which would actually allow you to hook up a much more efficient low wattage AC inverter for really small load so you don't have to fire up the big (somewhat wasteful) built in AC inverter.

I wander what real world numbers would show since that scenario is using the DC to DC converter and then the DC to AC inverter off your choice.

Thanks so much for this review. I have been a part-time van dweller since I built out a Ram Promaster in 2018 and have had several different battery options, starting with an AGM-battery Goal Zero, then a crowd-sourced Bluetti (OK, but disappointing in several areas), and finally a Pecron E3000. I didn't know much about the Pecron brand, but it seemed to offer excellent bang for the buck, so I took a chance. It has been excellent and allowed me to go almost 100% electric in the van. Naturally, I use it for the usual stuff: vent fan, Wabasto, lights, and fridge. However, I do most of my cooking using electricity now. The Pecron powers a small microwave, a small electric pressure cooker, an induction burner, and a small capsule-type coffee maker. Naturally, I'm not running all these things simultaneously, and I'm very aware of my power usage. For instance, I may make a couple cups of coffee (about 6-7 minutes) and use the induction burner to fry some eggs (another 5-6 minutes). One surprising and economical find was my 3-quart electric pressure cooker. It uses full power to reach pressure (around 10 minutes) but very little power to maintain pressure as it cycles on and off during that cooking phase. I can usually recharge the system with the 400 watts of solar that I have on the roof, but I can also run my van's power to an inverter that powers the E3000 power brick and charge that way when I'm driving. The Pecron has turned out to be an excellent choice and is well-built. My unit is simple (not many bells and whistles), but it does the job. I would love to upgrade to the E1500 plus the expansion battery, but I'm now retired with other responsibilities. Perhaps, someday. Here is a wishful thought to Pecron. Do you want someone to do a real-world test in a van using the E1500 and the accessory battery? I would be happy to comply :). Ahh, yes, wishful thinking. But for now, I'm very happy with my E3000.

I'm a "retired" EE, so i really appreciate your thoroughness. I've built & installed several multi KW arrays on my roof and property because I found that the topology of my roof only permitted single 6KW & 3KW arrays, and I then tied them together with some other panels, often using solar generators when they were cheap. I have several engineer friends with battery design expertise, so i'm well covered there as well. Really glad to see someone like you enter the review space because i have lotsa neighbors & friends who call on me for advice & you look like a good resource for those folks! Keep up the good work! Hello Jason, I have a Pecron E1500LFP and an Ecoflow Delta 2 Max, the inverter of the Delta 2 Max is 2400W and that of the E1500LFP is 2200W. I replaced my Ecoflow in my camper with the Pecron because the Delta 2 Max does not succeed in starting the air conditioning while the E1500LFP does it without problem. I bought it with your link during its pre-launch and I am pleasantly surprised by the services it provides me. thank you for your reviews

With a 30a 12V, wireless charger, good UPS, app, expendable (with connectors on this extra battery), a 90 degres connector for the extra batteries, a bunch of cables, Ac cable without brick and all connectors in front of the unit. they start to play in major ligue.

Excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing. Love the 12v output options and the high amp loads. Jackery and Bluetti are going to lose truck/van/boat/car business to this unit since they have practically abandoned 12v output options in their newest units. The Pecron E1500 Pro also has some very nice 12v output options. For use in my truck/car/boat where I need strong 12v options - I would pick either of these Pecron units over the newer Jackery/Bluetti units.

Thanks For the Discount code. I buy one. For the Vanlife, I think it's one of the best one. I already have Delta 2 Max but this EcoFlow mist a huge feature in the 12V 30A. I will replace this unit by the Pecron E1500LFP. It's my favorite one for my use. She have more capacity than Bluetti AC1800 and Solix C1000, She have contectivity than the Pecron E2000LFP didn't have, she have the 30A missing on EcoFlow and she have better charging option than Bluetti AC200MAX.

Phenomenal detailed presentation and succinct. I love this new Pecron . Finally they listened to the consumers and are the first to come out with the 90º cables for the expansion batteries and to boot to make the expansion batteries usable as well. When it comes to power banks I basically use them for recreational and emergency purposes and wished that they would offer more 12V plugs since it is the most efficient and if it is an emergency you don't want to use power hungry appliances. I love the ratio of inverter to battery capacity where if necessary it will power most things and still maintain its portability. I am glad they got rid of the charging brick. I do wish it had an extra or two cigarette plugs and I still feel that the 32V to 95V voc is limited. Jason, again great great job!
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid Жыл бұрын
I'd just take the 30 amp DC output and split off that with an xt60 to 12v cigarette splitter. Then you could have three 12v cig ports. I personally hate the 12v cig ports, you'll lose about 0.3 volts through them via resistance / heat and they fall out and wiggle loose.

Fantastic review, it was very concise and detailed. Great job! Love my 600LFP from Pecron and will be picking this up in the very near future. Hi there, if you are looking for high-power 12V output the Fossibot F3600 might be interesting for you as well. It has a 3840Wh battery with a 12V 25A output but additionally you get an 3600W inverter, PD outputs, 2000W solar input etc. It is a bit more expensive but considering the features I still consider it a great option at currently around 1600$ here in Europe. Jason reviewed the "little brother" the F2400, this one also offers a 12V 25A output if that's your main criteria.

Awesome review Jason! With the price comparison and expandability of power stations it almost makes more sense to use this for a full time van conversion power source. I have a couple of questions in regards to this. 1) In terms of using it as a power source in a van what are your thoughts when it comes to durability due to vibration of the vehicle or do they do any testing, certification for this kind of environment. 2) One thing that's kept me from using a power station vs an individual component build station is the lack of DC-DC charging. Noticed that in your video the Pecron perform as one of the slowest charging from the vCctron DC-DC. converter Saw your workout around video using the Victron DC-DC charger and I'm wondering how this Pecron stacks up or if you could add the results of that test to your overall testing spreadsheet. 3) Follow up to the question above are you able to keep the DC-DC charger and Solar panels connected and charging at the SAME time at high capacity using a Victron Energy Orion 12/24-Volt 20 amp DC-DC Converter or Orion TR DC-DC 12-12- 30AM and somehow plug in a DC-DC charger along with 4x100 Watt panels without maxing out the 700 watt limit so it theoretically has the ability to charge up to 700 Watts using 400 from the panels and 300 from the DC to DC charger acting as a 700 watts solar panels but also having the benefit of charging form the vehicle when sun conditions are not ideal. 4) Is 30A on the DC to DC outlet enough to connect to a 12 volt DC blue sea distro fuse box to run the following: Air max fan, LED lighting 2-3 USB charging outlets 12 volt wall mounted fan 12 volt wall mounted LED RV reading light 12 volt water pump or I'm I better off spreading out each component using the 12 volt cigarette lighter port for set power fridge, some long USB cables for the tech device outlets and barrell plug for the LED lights and Air max fan. Thank you!
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid Жыл бұрын
Lots of questions here so I'll do my best to briefly answer them: 1) I don't think they are certified for anything specific but I do feel the E1500lfp is very solidly built and will handle a bit of vibration. You could always build in some sort of rubber feet or isolaters for a van install. 2)When testing with my 24v dc to dc converter I was able to get 260 watts charging on the aviation charging port. If you used the 30 volt victron you'd probably see around 300 to 330 watts charging on that port. 3) You could use both charging ports at the same time for faster charging, just remember the 5521 charging port is limited to 100 watts, so a 120w solar panel is all that would be worth connecting there. 4) All the items you listed are very low wattage devices, no issues at all powering all those at the same time off the 30 amp DC output / distro box.
@mannyst1nvan
@mannyst1nvan Жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thank you@@Jasonoid Noticed that the EP2000 has two aircraft ports rated up to 600 Watts seems like that's exactly what I'm trying to do by having a DC to DC charger and at least 400-600 watts of solar. The drawback there would be the 20A limit on the barrel plugs to connect to the 12 fuse box vs using the Anderson connector. If this 1500 had two aviation plugs like the their 2000 model it would be perfect. What about if I got the EP3000 expansion battery could I achieve what I'm trying to do by running the DC to DC to the power station and Panels directly to the expansion battery while cascading/ connecting both and would they automatically balance each other out. Sorry for all the questions 😬 or lastly would the best/most efficient option just be a 1000 watt AC inverter on a remote switch to take advantage on the dual charging you demoed so I can turn it on and charge while driving as needed

I see I can add on the EP3000 additional battery for $1300. In the video you used a 48v battery to charge. My question is, why wouldn't I just buy a 48v 50Ah/2560Wh LiFePO4 online for about $600 and use the aviation style connector? I could buy 2 (+5000Wh!) for less than the price of one Pecron battery. Only the proprietary E3000 battery will charge and discharge equally with the power station. If you use a standalone 48v battery to charge the power station, it won't sync with the power station automatically like the E3000 expansion battery. You'll have to charge it independently.

AWESOME review!!!! Not only did I give you a thumbs up but I also asked for notifications for any new videos. I'm not an expert on power stations but I've watched a ton of these power station YT review videos lately and as a reviewer you are at the top of the list. Super thorough review and I can't think of anything you could do to improve your reviews. So keep up the GREAT work....much appreciated!!! Regarding the Pecron E1500LFP, it looks like an excellent product that checks all of the boxes. The only thing that I'd like to see is more AC output ports (only 3?). I'd like to see a minimum of 4 AC ports and 5/6 would be more ideal...even if they had to make the unit a bit larger to accommodate them. Is there any reason why or any limitations regarding using an power extension cord with this unit to expand the number of AC ports? If not then this will likely be my solution to the limited number of ports. Do you happen to know if the E1500LFP in combo with the EP3000 would qualify for the Federal Tax "rebate" of 30%? Or do you know of any resources (other than an accountant) that could clarify on that issues ?
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid 11 ай бұрын
I'm not sure about the tax question. As for use extension cords and surge protectors to get more outlets... There isn't an issue doing that. You'd want to make sure you use a 12awg extension cable and use a high quality surge protector and you'll be golden running multiple devices at once through 1 outlet on the power station.

Very impressive, thanks Jason. The short warranty is still mystifying me. Can there be any other reason besides inferior reliability? Maybe there's too much marketing/gimmicky bs surrounding long warranties and they just don't want to invest in that side of things? If it does come down to reliability then I guess they'll need to up their game further still before the brand can hit new heights. Looks like they're on their way though.

About the only thing Pecron lacks is a longer warranty. It's great to see these companies one upping each other, because ultimately the consumer wins:) I like the new grading 2.0, very nice! The only thing missing is being able to combine two units for split phase operation. If they added that, it would kill EcoFlow and Bluetti. Great review as always! You should take a look at the Eco Worthy dual axis solar tracker. A very affordable way to get 30% or more out of your solar panels:)

Please make a new video comparing these Apps and features 🙏 I’m new to solar, your videos have helped me immensely🍻. I have been on the fence about Pecron due to lack of firmware upgrade and App until E1500LFP. Looking to upgrade capacity for my Solar priority UPS backup setup for my Fishtanks gears from 700wh to over 1kwh. Currently using River2Pro with AC plugged into wall to keep unit charged up to 70% battery for outage emergency (using Backup Reserve feature), while 100-150w solar input is used to power output and top off 70-90% (using Charge Limit feature). Great review Jason! Would you be able to test if the E1500LFP can power a full size gas dryer? I've found one shortfall of Pecron's inverter design is that while it has a high rated surge power, it's much shorter surge than competitors. My E2000LFP can't start up my dryer, but my much smaller CTECHi 1200Wh power station has no problem starting it up. Looks like the bidirectional inverter with UPS loses some efficiency compared to their previous models which consistently got over 90% efficiency at 0.2C discharge rate, so a trade-off for the extra features. Still great efficiency for such a large inverter compared to competitors.

Very interested.nice video ..could you over panel in series...as long you stay under 95 volt...wanted to over panel to maximize the solar input...do I need to worry about amp ? The user manual does not seem to go into maximum solar amp ...only open voltage ..any purpose be appreciated...thx

Amperage amount is controlled by the power ststion automatically. It will limit the amperage at safe levels. You'll just want to make sure your solar array doesn't go over the maximum rated voltage.

On my charging box would be solar panels so you can go give the charging. Things are called when the garbage can or stick them up you don't know what.

I wish the Delta2Max had that DC output range! But it's still a winner on the MPPT inputs. I thought those barrel connectors were only good for 3 amps, not 10😳

Oh, with the expansion battery's own MPPT it might just eek out ahead... Can you charge using all 3 DC inputs at the same time when the battery is connected to the main unit too?

I wish the D2M had 1500-2000 watts input through the MPPTs

Yes, you can use all three charging ports at the same time! The barrel ports can pull high power briefly, I wouldn't recommend that high of a load for a long time!
