The apple jelly one is cool. Normal jam is made with pectin and sugar but apple peels have pectin naturally so it should work. The difference is that you have to being the mixture to a hard boil for like 4 minutes before the pectin reacts with the sugar and then once in the jars sit on the counter for and hour before fridge for 4 hours.

These hacks are mostly scams lol That apple jam showed in the clip was something from a store, and they probably put food colorant in the water. Everyone knows that boiling apples won't make any water THAT red, because the apples's skin has no tints or colorants on it.

There’s usually enough pectin in apple skins to make a soft jam, you just have to boil it for long enough. If you reduced the final product down a bit more as well it would’ve thickened nicely 😄

Here is what you do with orange peels.. Take a pot and add orange peels, cloves and cinnamon... Add water about an inch over the orange peels.. Then bring it to a boil.. Then turn the heat down to low For 15 min, add a little water if it gets below the peels, then turn off the heat but leave on it on the stove so the heat slowly goes down down. It will smell amazing!

I remember when i was a kid we make candles made by cooking oil (used oil) ,first we put salt(rock salt not iodized) half of a small jar, then pour some cooking oil until the salt is covered. Then a cotton ball (roll it until it will form a thin thread cotton) on the center. Be careful touching the jar because it is hot.
@michaelkirby583 жыл бұрын
I think the apple jam will work if you use less water and let it reduce more while cooking.
@kristyreal5 жыл бұрын
Fruits contain natural pectin which gels the juice into refrigerator jelly, but you have to cook it down a lot more....yours just has too much liquid in it still so it is a simple syrup. You could use it for making drinks or put it back on the stove and cook it some more to get jam. Loaded potato skins are an actual appetizer in some restaurants. Please save your bacon grease, but use it for adding flavor to vegetables and other dishes....don't waste it making a frigging candle.
