Employers need to educate workers and provide them with safety equipment. They probably try to save a few bucks at the cost of someone being severely injured or worse. I wish those workers all the best. Making the most out of what they have available to them.

It is to give it more rigidity, and prevent it from bending. No only that, given the shape of the handle, it would make the sickle very akward ot handle or use. So you can say that they make it for “ergonomic” reasons.

PLEASE tell the workers, TO WEAR MASKS. While working with Saws and any machines, that produce small particles. They are Breathing in all that Dust.... So BAd For LUNGS.... My uncle worked with wood and saws for many years, with NO mask. He died with a Lung disease.😷😷😷😷😷😷
