Is it take your child to work day?! I am always amazed at the deplorable working conditions in these factories. But to see a young child walking around chards of glass is inexcusable!

and this is how people learn and understand danger and how to be safe around it. Not like in 'first' world countries where we need regulations and fines and agencies to wrap everyone and everything in cotton to make sure that nobody ever needs a bandage on their finger throughout their childhood and life. Oh and if someone needs a bandage for some reason while at work, there is a stack of paperwork to be filled out and submitted to the government to downgrade the safety rating of that business for that year.

Using specific types of needles for sewing, especially in traditional or industrial settings, often depends on the materials being sewn and the desired outcome. Some common reasons for using particular needles, even if they seem unconventional, include: Material Compatibility: Certain fabrics or materials require specific needle types. For instance, leather, canvas, or thick fabrics may need thicker or more robust needles to avoid breaking or bending. Industrial Efficiency: In large-scale or heavy-duty sewing environments, sturdier needles are sometimes chosen to withstand continuous use without frequent replacement. This reduces downtime and ensures smoother operations in factories. Traditional Techniques: In some cases, specific needle types are traditional to a region or craft. These needles are used not just out of habit but because they work well with the techniques or materials involved in that tradition. Cost and Availability: In some areas, the availability of sewing materials may be limited. Craftspeople may adapt by using locally available needles, even if they’re less ideal by modern standards. Understanding these reasons can help us appreciate the choices behind different sewing tools, even when they look different from what we might expect.
