Coming from the 13 pro max to 16 pro max. It’s lighter, more comfortable in the hand around the edges, and the upgraded camera is nice. In some strange way it feels somewhat the same yet very different at the same time.

@@matkuan89 I mean you’ll get 2-4 hrs better battery life. Better quality cameras with a few more features. Way faster processor. Charging speeds have increased quite a bit with USB-C as well. That was my main reason for upgrading so my phone & iPad could have the same charger.

For the first time in many years I made a year to year upgrade and went from my 15PM to the 16PM. Between the heat issues of the 15PM (in situations where my other iPhones wouldn’t get nearly as hot) to the resulting rapid battery degradation after only 9 months of use, I figured I’d take the leap. I have no regrets! Not only does this phone run much cooler (Apple spent time getting the thermals right on the 16s because heat issues were a big problem with the 15 series), the battery life is insane! Two days with moderate use and a day and a half with heavier use. The Camera Control button is a welcome edition as I can get the camera open really fast now and not miss great photo ops and like you, I’m most excited for its role in Visual Intelligence. The macro shots are much better now thanks to the 48mp Ultra-wide camera. All around, this is a terrific phone and a welcome upgrade.

Yeah there isn’t a difference. That camera button is stupid asf. They could have given us split screen multitasking, on screen fingerprint sensor, or pin hole camera and we got a useless camera button. Worst purchase I have ever made.

Really what is the significant difference? The camera button? Battery life(well duh, could’ve just bought a new battery at the apple store for $100). They both can run AI(Apple Intelligence(what’s available of it anyway 🤦🏾). It really isn’t a substantial upgrade at all unless you also think that going from a 6.7-6.9 inch screen is game changing 😂.

I also love my 16 pro max 🔥 I upgraded from the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the bigger display, battery life and type C alone were a reason to upgrade for me but I love the titanium build, the camera system takes better photos especially with the new lens, I love the edition of the action button as well that the 14 pro max didn’t have. I haven’t tried the camera control feature much yet but that’s a cool edition as well especially if you a photographer! I love my new iPhone and it’s gonna be a great phone for the next 2 years! I upgrade every two years! Thanks for the review!

I wasn't going to upgrade my 14 Pro Max but got a couple for 2 of my sons and was very impressed so I upgraded as well and it was a much bigger jump than I expected. Battery is great, happy to have USB and the color on the screen actually seem a little more dynamic... technically it shouldn't but does. In the US there are a lot of carrier deals right now which means you can get into a 16 at a huge discount if you find the right deal that works for you.

Just upgraded from the 13 and I have to say I have missed the pro max models quite a bit more than I thought over the years. The size while they are a minimal upgrade compared to recent pro-max models are a huge upgrade from the base 6” base models, the camera control button I could have lived without as far as being useful my only major gripe with it is I think they missed there mark on it by about an inch as held in its intended position the controls just feel uncomfortable to reach and use with my fingers. Sound is great, cameras are great, picture quality and lighting is great, battery life is great. Really enjoying the purchase and was a much needed upgrade from the 13 Base model, thanks Matt for your review it was useful and informative!!

The 0,5 lens is not new, just the sensor below, and photography centric channels have clearly shown that this old lens, specially towards the edges of the image, cannot render the 48 megapixels. So neither one of the three cameras represents any advantage to last year‘s phone. Apart from the 4K 120fps video feature that is hardly an everyday feature.

I like my iPhone 16 pro max 1TB model. One thing I wish Apple would have designed it with a scroll instead; the same one as is on the Apple watch instead of the slider. With my Benks case the button is a little hard to press and the slider works ok but not buttery smooth. When I try the half press to get to options I end up doing a full press and taking a picture. I think the Awatch scroll wheel is a much better solution placed in the same location on the iPhone. Then if you scroll by placing your finger to the front side instead of having to place it on the top side, much easier. You can easily simulate performing said action by placing your hands in said position and moving your finger back and forth. Try it for yourself. And try placing your finger in different locations and feel the difference.

Not a surprise on the screen size question. Going from 6.7 to 6.9 is only 3% larger. Not very noticeable. I went from a 14Pro to a 16 Pro Max, so the 6.1 to 6.9 change is quite noticeable (13%).

I not sure where the ‘experts’ do to make their loving comments about the iPhone 16. I had it day and then returned it ! The phone itself looked as usual quality but the software was full of bugs - no doubt there will be fixes coming out but hey £999 and it should work out of the box !

Good thing we can turn down the exposure a bit for those moments where it makes the image much brighter than what you see with your eyes. I don't mind it being brighter but not to the point where the sky turns blue as if it was day time. I often turn down the exposure down a few notches before I take a photo when shooting outside at night with nightmode.

I upgraded from an 11 Pro Max, specifically so I could take advantage of Apple Intelligence, and picked it up on the morning of the 20th. While I am loving the whole experience of the 16 Pro Max, most of the things I love are not 16 specific, rather iOS stuff that I hadn't had on the 11 Pro Max, such as the Dynamic Island, or iOS 18 specific such as the Passwords app. Obviously, for me, the performance upgrade is definitely noticeable. Geekbench Multi-Core score jumped from 13,579 to 26,049 and the Metal score went from 27,512 to 69,759, and I can feel that in everything I do. Having skipped 4 generations, and coming from a phone that had a battery state of "Service" for the past several years, the battery life is shockingly good. It's been some time, if ever, that I've been able to go a whole day and still have 40-50% battery left. Design, screen size, and weight are not really a huge factor for me, but overall I'm loving the whole experience

There’s a lot of agg this year between iPhone users with 15 and 14 models..those that have upgraded are getting dissed in the comments 😅 I did order the 16 PM ( I got a 15 PM) but cancelled it after a few days as the 15PM is still really holding its own IMO.

I’ve noticed a bug. When you pinch and zoom on a video, the slider is off alignment and you are unable to scrub forward or backward. 🤬

Definitely iphone 16 pro max is great device but as compared to 15 pro max i think it is not big of the deal i was really hoping more difference between them, may be Apple did this to keep up the hype of iphone 17 series, don't know but sort of disappointed with 16 pro max..

I was watching your update on the iPhone Pro Max and was surprised to see you having an iphone to the left of the iPhone 16 when you were taking about the phone sizes. What gives here? The phone is at least 1/2" smaller. Why is that. I am still debating upgrading from an iPhone pro max 12. The price RMB here in China for the iPhone 16 pro max is 9,999 for 256; 11,999 for 512 and 13,999 for 1TB.

The 16 PM can't really compare to the 200mp 100x zoom that the Galaxy Ultras have.

Clean software experience, more refined apps, superior Apple pay, brilliant Air pods synchronization and Great battery life and moreover excellent resale value of Apple phones. iPhone is better in every aspect for me.

@@ADDSGRDJ It's actually the other way around when you compare it to something like a Galaxy Ultra. Some stuff like syncing ear buds across devices is exactly the same between Apple and Samsung.

I’m only upgrading from my 14 pro max bc battery life has SUCKED on it ever since I got it and has only gotten worse. Can’t even get a full day out of it without charging
