Looks good, a on/off switch would be a nice feature.

Kreg makes a switch that attaches to the frame of table. It has two outlets on the back and a flip switch on the front.

Perfect timing. Just bought myself one for Christmas. I also grabbed a Jessem lift while I was at it. I hope to put it all together this weekend. I am a complete amateur and just starting to learn woodworking but I think this will help me . Thanks for the review and assembly demo. Your videos are always helpful and I’ve learned much from them.

Add the Triton TRA-001 Router with the Dedicated Kreg Router Plate designed for the Triton TRA-001 and you have the beginnings of something beautiful. The Triton allows for raising and lowering of the bit from the top of the table as well as changing the bit from the top of the table. The Kreg Router base plate doesn’t need drilling since it’s pre drilled in the correct location already. I say it’s the “beginning” of something beautiful only because at that point it’s perfectly useful with either 1/4” or 1/2” shank bits. Perfecting it of course changes with each individual woodworker. I have dust collection both on the fence and below the table with a self made box to enclose the lower side of the table, drawers for various routing accessories, bit storage (frees up more wall space for other tools), and I’ve made mine (not a Kreg) a steel (over 7/8” thick) table top. I started with 1/4” steel plate, cut all the holes and grooves in it as needed, then added 5/8” plate by removing more than what was needed in the exact same pattern plus a few holes to facilitate welding the two together from the bottom (just don’t burn through the 1/4” piece). And added some welded on mounting points, as good as cast iron after mild sanding and should any severe damage occur to the top it can be re drilled free and a new one made fairly easily. The added weight means it it’s not going to move around easily so heavier roughing cuts are no problem. Bonus, you don’t really have to worry about messing it up. The downside is YOU MUST HAVE WHEELS to move it around. Steel is HEAVY! In fact I recommend a hoist of some sort during assembly. You either have to paint, powder coat, or treat the steel surface to prevent rust or it will rust. Not everyone has a welder but every woodworker should learn to weld, at least the basics IMO. Bonus #2 Learn to use a work holding jig or backer block of some sort for every cut on the router table (even round over cuts)! “When you build things for yourself that you can be proud of then others will also take pride in your works.”

Note incra lift fits best in rockler router tables...give it a try! How about a review on new Hilti 12 inch slide compound saw Looks like best overall

Hadn't really considered a router table till now. Limited space, and don't have a jointer. Already have a table saw but have issues using it from a wheelchair. Something like this would help. Kind of a Swiss army knife. As I don't have a jointer due to space and limited use for one. Might almost be worth getting rid of the table saw in exchange for a good router table...

The problem is by the time you buy the table, lift insert, fence and dedicated router, you can purchase a 3 hp shaper everything included and do everything a router table can do plus so much more.

Would you be able to put the precision lift into that table as an upgrade later?

Yep, will fit perfectly in there with no modifciations needed.

Side issue...... I'd love a palm router that would take a 1/2 inch bit. I don't want to replace a bunch of bits I already have but a palm router would be nice.

Nice basic table but, a place, shelf, block, etc for router bit storage would really improve it!
@731Woodworks17 сағат бұрын
Agreed, and you could always build that in underneath this one. Lots of room there to build a custom cabinet.

@@731Woodworks A router cabinet like Norm Abram's (yes, I'm dating myself!) with dust collection and drawers for router bits would be great.

$500, which is steep! At that price, I'd much rather build my own.

You've clearly never seen it in person. It's very solid. 🤷🏻♂️
@stanleysmith898416 сағат бұрын
My thought is it is overpriced. Do you think so as well. Also would you compare it to the one built by Bosch?
@731Woodworks15 сағат бұрын
Naw, I don't think it is overpriced. It's a solid value for what you're getting I think. The Bosch is the table top version correct? I haven't tried that one yet.

This dewalt router is infamous for breaking down when used upside down in router tables. I don’t recommend this router for this application
