Don't cut the stray hairs. Reshaping brushes is incredibly easy. Boil water, pour in a cup and dip the bristles only for about 30 seconds. Run it over a bar of soap, smooth the bristles and let it dry. I've revived brushes that I thought were destroyed.

What you described with your fringe is impulsive thoughts, intrusive thoughts refer to something destressing, (and can literally be disabling), and usually regard hurting yourself and / or others
@-RachelN-5 ай бұрын

@cosmicglitter5 ай бұрын
Hey! Just want to say, intrusive thoughts are not "usually" regarding harming oneself or others. Intrusive thoughts are distressing thoughts that you don't want to have, and can encompass a lot of different things from harmful or violent thoughts, to self doubting thoughts, paranoia, fear, and more!
@lunastardustanime73885 ай бұрын
@cosmicglitter Yes! I'm aware of that too, I was just simplifying things for a quick comment, I actually struggle a lot with paranoid intrusive thoughts myself (harm yourself was also referring too harmful behaviors that can go alongside them, or to try keep them at bay)

The blue paintbrushes with the paint by number are surprisingly good... The same exact ones seem to be included with every brand of paint by number. I've used them for painting miniatures even 😅 and most pbn come as canvas sheets and you have to attach a frame that costs extra, so getting it prepped already is nice

On the triangular barrelled brushes - I bought some very cheap miniature painting brushes from Amazon, they had the triangular barrels too - I have to agree with you that they are on the more awkward side to handle (ha) or use. I've always had circular barrels and I like how you can twist and roll them between your fingers to alter grip and to manipulate the paint on the bristles. The triangular ones seem much harder to control. I love the look of those acrylic pens though, I tried some Frisk ones that came with one of the Scrawlrboxes and they were SO good, so I don't feel like Posca is the only option out there, definitely worth trying out other brands. 💜✨🌈

Guess it really has been a long time since you've done paint-by-numbers. LOL. Nowadays, they typically come with the same 3 paint brushes that were in your kit, and the images are always printed on the canvas. It's actually becoming more and more common for them to have colored canvases, where a lighter version of the paint color is pre-printed on the canvas, which helps with coverage so you use less paint. They usually run about $8-10 for an unframed 16x20 inch or $12-15 for pre-framed ones. They always come with the hanging hardware and a small colored copy of the image for reference and sometimes will even come with a table easel as well. Mind you, they usually come from China, which allows for such a low price, and the packaging is either a very generic cardboard box or just a plastic sleeve.

Hey! I definitely know the difference as I’ve had OCD since I was young. Intrusive thoughts suck. While it was definitely more intrusive for me I appreciate it wasn’t the correct technical term. I was just being a bit silly with the phrase since intrusive thoughts are the bane of my existence lol. Didn’t mean to offend anyone of course, honestly didn’t even notice until someone pointed it out haha 💕
@cosmicglitter5 ай бұрын
I know you just want to be helpful, but I'd like to offer a different angle of thinking here: For all we know it was a series of intrusive thoughts which led to the decision to make the chop - as we're only viewers of snippets of her life, we can't really accurately determine anything and shouldn't really be correcting how another person explains their experience! As long as they are being genuine, I believe it is more important to make people feel comfortable talking about things than it is to worry about what terminology they use - and then, later, when you know a person more or when learning has been asked for, it can be appropriate to get more into that kind of thing. Sometimes, when we get down on people for HOW they've tried to describe their personal experience, it can discourage people to continue sharing for fear of making another mistake, which is ultimately more harmful, imo.

I did paint by number paintings a few years ago and it is pretty standard that the pattern is on the canvas, not sure how it would be paint by number is it wasn't, and it usually comes with those 3 brushes and a mini picture of what it looks like. Mine also would come with a big paper version in case the numbers on the canvas were hard to read. Mine did not come framed though and it was really hard to find the right size frames and to get them to look nice when framed .
